i am more interested in why people don't like the smart cover. cause it is pretty much the best ever
I've got the black leather one. The magnets on the hinge part work great, but the ones on the...uh...other side? I don't feel they're as secure. Also, if I jostle my bag at all while my iPad is in there with a smartcover on, I'm hearing the Lock/Unlock sound, so the cover is lifting just slightly, unlocking the screen, then locking it again. All that on/off activity can't be good for the battery.
the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't protect that back from scuffing n' stuff and usually when I spend 500 on something I would like it to stay pristine
but overall I like it
if i never travelled with it and just left it at home, the smart cover would be perfect

From the opinions in here, it sounds like my move is going to be to get a Smart Cover and then maybe a shell or a skin for the backplate.
That Thermaltake mouse is pretty wild looking but not particularly attractive. I personally liked the way the R.A.T. looked but found it to be really uncomfortable despite all the adjustments.
I'm going to be nit picky here for a moment so bear with me, but I wonder why they edited out the usb cable that goes from the front part back to the body of the mouse. If they created that specific design element why would they then remove it from some pictures of the device but not all of them?

Probably an unintentional oversight resulting from mixing different prototypes or physical units with digital mock-ups.
If it's a universal app, as far as I'm aware (@Jasconius might be able to shed more light on this) it has to include the assets for all devices, so yeah, Pages, Keynote, etc all are $Texas on both iPhone and iPad.
what is a good wireless mouse to purchase with somewhere between 50 - 75 American dollars? is Logitech still the go-to? I'n not, like, playing Starcraft or anything but it'd be nice if it tracked well and the extra buttons worked without installing a bunch of bloated software
my MX1000 from 2006 has finally given up the ghost. the copper contacts are so worn down that it won't charge anymore.
yes a universal app has to have all assets, including iPad retina graphics
however, Apple has been toying around with delta updates and one day that will find its way to iOS
so no more downloading 200MB apps when only 3kb of code has changed
Well, I wouldn't be concerned with the download itself(mostly), but the size of the file on my device.
Presumably all current(or very recent) version universal apps would be fine, but any update of that app suddenly balloons to a much bigger size, despite no improvement to an iPad 2 user?
Cause, I kind of want an iPad 2, but not if the effective storage capacity for apps is going to suddenly shrink sharply.
Now I'm kind of wondering if I should have ordered a 32gb one, but since it's going to primarily be a reading device with few if any games installed I'll probably be fine with a 16gb. If I do watch videos on it they're going to be streamed from my PC, and personally if I'm going to be watching something longer than an hour I'd much rather do that in front of a TV or a computer monitor.

We've got a plastic grate, some LEDS, this little prong thing that sticks out the front, and some lasers. What can we make with this?
I mean, hopefully not everything is going to see those kinds of size increases, but yeah.
also happy birthday to my dad, you get a free touchpad that i dont ever use
Yikes, I don't have anything that weighs in at more than 15-20MB or so.
...oh no
well, I do keep a lot of stuff I don't use on here anyway...
huuuuge games.
prolonged exposure to cyberpunk novels, probably
Does the "as iphone user" quote imply that general iOS users that are not on a New iPad, will have to use these same balls-huge files?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I would hope that developers wouldn't actually develop new iPad apps that would only have one version, the huge retina one.
