About yahtzee I agree that if you are going to include a single player optionto a game, then it should be fully fleshed out and totally awesome by itself. Nothing half-assed, that isn't acceptable to me.
I honestly thought you were talking about the dice game here, until the post that followed yours.

I see your point, but I also think that for some gamers (myself included until recently), it's not a case of ignoring half the game, but being unable to use it.
Yeah, I mean, I get ya. It does suck and its a real bummer when you go to play a coop game or something and cant find other people. Ha ha ha.
Actually, that is a point. I wasn't really considering local co-op as being MP. Foolish me. Still, the SP should still stand up alone.
Do people really use Yahtzee as an actual purchasing guide? The guy's funny but he deliberately exaggerates a game's negative points and disregards positives. He even says himself people don't like it when he's positive about games because he's not as funny.
EDIT: In unrelated news: games which have missions in which you have to tail people (and don't just transition to "fuck it just chase him" when they see you) are stupid dumb games for babies.
Well, he was one of my influences for BUYING painkiller. Basically, if he has nothing nice to say about a game, ignore him. If he has nothing BAD to say about the game, well then it must be an amazing game because not even Yahtzee can think up something bad to say.
I take his opinion into consideration. He argues his points well and provides what feels like an honest opinion, unlike most other vidja revewing place on the internet apart from giantbomb.
Lessons in game design from Vaguely Lightningproof:
*Unskippable cutscenes are stupid
*Tailing missions are stupid
*Unskippable cutscenes that play every time you fail a tailing mission are a monument to the limitless capacity of human retardation

I'm sorely tempted by both Driver and Modern Warfare 2.
Demolition Inc. is worth $2.50 but the gameplay relies a bit too much on random physics rather than direct hands-on blowing stuff up for me to really dig it.
Kinda relieved Sonic isn't on, will wait till Christmas for that I guess, is that Thief or Demolition Corps any good? Saw Minor incident play demolition the other day, is it fun?
So I've never tried a Thief game before is Deadly Shadows a good starting point or should I try and get Thief 2?
I played it on Xbox and really enjoyed even if I never beat it. There is a texture enhancement pack and a tweak guide to make it look better for PC here http://thief-thecircle.com/download.asp?fid=1038 and http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83801. I played it a bit on PC and it doesn't have native gamepad support if that's important for you, but the K+M mouse controls are just fine. In short, it's definitely worth $5 if for the Cradle level alone.
Hey guys is anyone in USA keen for a Shogun2 trade? I'm aussie so they want me to pay 45 bucks for no reason. (seriously absolutely no reason for the price hike, other than they can.)

MW2. Wanted that. Thank you Steam. Take my moneys.
No AC, guess that leak was balls. Wasn't someone hoping for Red Faction yesterday?
COD: MW2
Greed Corp
Fable 3
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Red Faction Armageddon (Franchise sale)
EU3 (Franchise sale)
Driver: San Fran
Divinity 2
Demolition Inc
MTG 2012
Section 8 Prejudice

I thought I could escape today unscathed...
Only item for today that has my interest, I think.
Buying Thief just to have it, I think.

Welp.
Jesus, it has payed map pack DLC. Great way to alienate customers and fracture a multiplayer community.

I was hoping to buy nothing but gifts with the steam wallet I gave myself as all the money I'm allowed to spend on the rest of this sale.
Ffffffffffffffffffffffff
Three copies, because it wouldn't let me give any more.

Totally.
They're very similar games, which means they're both awesome.
The intro to DS2 does pretty much spoil DS1, though.
Greed corp is pretty good. It has a surprising amount of depth even though it appears to be a simplistic turn-based strategy game at first glance.
Yes
Edit content: I'd actually argue the campaign is better in Dead Space 1

£15... I'll pass.
It's a franchise sale, you can get both for $10.
If anything I'd say DS1 is a slightly superior game.
Divinity 2 DKS is a pretty damn good game, honestly
and uh... DS2 for $5 is decent, I guess
But yeah, shit sale
Bleh, guess I have some stuff to pick up now that they never went on daily deal
Oh yeah, Thief is really awesome. It's not as good as Thief 1 or 2, but nothing is so it's cool
Might pick up Dungeon Defenders though, has it been cheaper than 50% off before?
