I'm really torn on re-buying GalCiv II on Steam. I still have this feeling of being sold out to Gamestop by Wardell and I don't want to give Wardell more money because he's a screw up.
But I love GalCiv II.
I hear that Stardock is putting together a system to update old copies of the GalCiv series so people don't have to soil themselves with Gamestop. I haven't been able to find any news to corroborate this though. I'd really like it if it's true. I feel like Stardock owes their original customers that much.
Having played a little bit by myself and enjoying it, does Dungeon Defenders scale well for multiple players or are the early levels just ridiculously simple with multiple players? Also, it never fails that when I pour some minerals into a weapon is exactly when I will find one that is better in just about every way.
Ladies and Gentlemen, with this upcoming Holiday Sale, I need more friends. Not more friends for gifting purposes, although you are all classy and have spoiled me with gifts. No, I seek specific friends. I want more friends that will play Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I goddamn LOVE this game, and I need more people to play with. If you don't have this game, I urge you to pick it up if it goes on sale during Christmas. If you have it, friend me and lets set up some races.
Thank you, and good night.

Sort of. With more people there are more monsters per wave (which can become overwhelming), but it makes the bigger monsters (like Ogres) easier when you can focus fire and the towers from different classes support each other pretty well. I think it scales pretty well, myself.

So, Dungeon Siege 3
I think it would actually be a better game without the inclusion of a dodge button
You guys have just convinced me to add GalCiv to my wishlist, which going on past experience means I'll probably buy it. I hope you're happy with yourselves. It's quite an old game though isn't it? Hopefully it will get cheaper at Christmas, like Anno, Tropico 4, and Cities XL. I want some peaceful building damnit. And maybe some spaceship building.
GalCiv2 has been cheaper before, back when it was exclusive to Impulse, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets discounted eventually.
Also, as one final selling point, it features a race of evil space squirrels.
Yes, really.
Those bastards. One of my favorite memories of Gal Civ 2 was going out to a LAN party for the weekend a bunch of friends and I had at a beach house just outside of Ocean City. During the time we spent inside we played a few rounds of Gal Civ 2 and we took over the universe as the evil squirrel race, some fights not even having to resort to violence.

Let it be known throughout the kingdom that @Kristmas Kthulhu (Witchalok) is a generous (and probably brave) gentlemen of the highest caliber. He surprised-gifted me Borderlands: GotY edition!

The racing is really good, the graphics look great. The singleplayer integrates your friends leaderboards directly into the game so its pretty fun. The real fun though, is hot pursuit mode. Theres 2 teams, the Racers and the Cops. Now the racers are racing, be the first person to cross the finish line. The cops are not racing. They don't care about racing. They have 1 mission. To destroy the racers. It doesn't matter what position the cops are in, as long as they take the racers out, they win. So if you're playing as a racer you have to not only do your best to beat everyone else on the course, you have to survive the course. The game is goddamn amazing fun in multiplayer.
So I wake up from an alcohol-induced coma on the couch to discover not one but two gifts waiting for me. @Athenor gave me Dungeon Defenders (sweet!) and @Xenogear_001 gave me his Dirt 3 code! Fuckin awesome guys, you are too damn classy.
Jesus after being slightly frightened of that Steam hardcore group I checked my stats. I have played exactly half of the games I own on Steam. 120 Owned, 60 played. Admittedly I've only had my new PC a month or so (didn't really play anything except Minecraft and project Zomboid before that) but it is terrible. I need to try all these games I got in bundles before the Christmas sale begins and I buy four-packs of everything.
Also I was just talking to @Dark Raven X and mentioned that it'd be great if Steam had a way of letting people know if you didn't want a game. I love the generosity on here but I've played most of 'the games' on my 360, and sometimes I buy random gifts for people if they don't have an up to date wishlist.

Any idea for names for the anti-wishlist?
Spite-list. Because you will be gifted these games, out of malicious classyness.

Oooh, I have that game! I should install it.
Hot Pursuit is so good. I'd play with you guys, but my system is old and creaky and doesn't run it very well. I was supposed to pick up a new CPU yesterday, but the dude thought he had a socket 939 Athlon X2 when he actually had a socket AM2 Athlon X2.
Finding dual core socket 939 CPUs that aren't ridiculously overpriced is about as easy as finding the Holy Grail filled with unicorn glitter fart dust being held by Bigfoot while he's flying Amelia Earhart's plane through a double rainbow.
But yeah, Hot Pursuit is awesome. Imagine what would happen if the Burnout people made a Need for Speed game. Well, you don't have to imagine, because that's basically exactly what happened.

You'd probably be better off just getting a whole new mobo at that point. I know that even with how common the socket type is with my old C2D, it'd only be like half again the price to upgrade to a new i5 as it would be to try to order one of the old core quads that would actually work with my mobo.

A new mobo would mean I'd have to buy new RAM (I'm still using DDR, hahaha). I'd rather just drop $30 on a used CPU and then build a new machine in the future rather than spend money upgrading the majority of this dinosaur.
Surprisingly enough I only have two games on my Steam list that are beyond the capabilities of my system.

gal civ 2 has tutorial videos.
Possibly the worst way to teach me a brand new complicated thing is to present me with a passive video of it and expect me to remember it bit by bit.
I do not work this way with videos. It is not how I roll.
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
So I may have just sent the New Heroes DLC as a gift to someone that doesn't own the game. So I sent them the DLC and the awkward pressure to buy the base game now.

edit: if a little inaccurate. There's more than a couple of games it lists as not played, that I know I have played. But mostly correct.
I actually managed to activate that while logged into someone elses account who had been using my computer... So I guess that was like gifting it.
