Damn. I was hoping the Pacers would land David West

welp, they did! 2 years $20 million

it seems like the paul trade falling through also screwed up the celtics sign and trade for west

pacers also working on a trade for mayo and are looking to sign carl landry and/or kirilenko

that team is looking really dangerous

Lamar Odom is trying to earn the nickname that Glen Davis shed.

So West actually ends up on the Pacers.

Celtics probably didn't want to give him 10 million a year for two bad knees.

Edit: Also a great trade by Dallas to pick up an unhappy Odom for a pick that probably won't be that good anyways.*

*- 15 years from now, said player will be destined for the Hall.

they couldn't give him anything above the small $3 million mid level without a sign and trade

and the hornets only cared about getting jermaine oneal to make the money in the paul trade work

so the paul trade falling through also made the west sign and trade fall through

Oh man, I love all these moves. Finally, the 5 years of suffering under terrible contracts is paying off!

The Chris Paul to LAC trade gets the Hornets Kaman, Al Farooq Aminu, Eric Bledsoe, and the Minnesota 2012 first rounder that is unprotected. Stern, however, wanted Eric Gordon in the trade as well but the Clippers GM said either Gordon or the draft pick not both would be in the trade, so this one might get vetoed, too.

In fact, it appears now that the deal is dying or dead. They are really trying to screw the Hornets over.

I hope it pans out. Paul to Griffin would be much more fun to watch than anything else.

I’m finding it difficult to understand why that deal wouldn’t go through.

Unless this all some sort of evil plan to royally piss off every single NBA player in Los Angeles by leaking their names in trade rumors.

If the Clips can keep Gordon, then that'll be something.

It'll all fall apart when all three of them manage to tear 6 ACLs in the first quarter of the season's first game.

  • Goose!Goose! That's me, honey Show me the way home, honeyRegistered User regular
The NBA wants all that stuff plus Gordon, Clips wanna do either Gordon or the pick. NBA is being ridiculous, basically.

Canadian media giants/rivals Rogers and Bell Media are joining forces to purchase controlling interest of the Toronto Raptors from it's current owners, the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan. That might be the most peculiar ownership change ever.

Ontario Teachers must have terriffic pension to be able to afford a basketball and hockey team (Maple Leafs also being bought)

Clip can't get Paul for aforementioned reasons. Something is awfully rotten here.

That's why David Stern is the commish and not an owner or GM.

Melo hyper extended his knee in practice today.

Melo hyper extended his knee in practice today.

    Oh... snap?

Iannone says he's fine. There's still 2 weeks until the season starts, anyhow.

NBA is determined to not trade Chris Paul...somewhere just because Paul says he wants to go there. Its looking like Paul will most likely end up stuck in NO and then become a free agent.

Its obviously in the best interests of the league to watch a superstar player mail in a year playing for a team that won't trade him, while trading away his supporting cast.

Also leave New Orleans without a draft pick or a decent player to build upon in a year where they probably won't make the playoffs.

Still have a few open spots in the fantasy league by the way. Need at least three more or I guess we won't be doing one.

Promise if someone wants to trade Chris Paul I won't veto it.

The Hornets revived trade discussions with the Clippers earlier today because "there's no one else left."

Wouldn't be surprised if the NBA screwed the Hornets down to a crappier deal.

  • MaximumMaximum Registered User regular
Don't think there could be a crappier deal. The deal earlier today was the entire Clipper roster except Griffen for Paul. How do they improve on that?

Stern just wants to stick it in Pauls behind one more time for some reason.

  • XehalusXehalus Registered User regular
guessing Otis Smith couldn't get anything really good for Howard

and now Howard is going to PR till he's a free agent

Eh, its a long season. We'll see who needs a great center by the time a trading deadline (whenver that's set for) comes up.

Also, OJ Mayo is supposedly not going anywhere.

Man if we have an 8 team league we're going to have ridiculously loaded teams. I approve.

this quote from kg is yet another reason to love the man:

"Timing is everything. Chemistry is something that you don't just throw in the frying pan and mix it up with another something, then throw it on top of something, then fry it up and put it in a tortilla and put in a microwave, heat it up and give it to you and expect it to taste good. You know? For those of you who can cook, y'all know what I'm talking about. If y'all can't cook, this doesn't concern you."

All big market teams in this league.

New Orleans and Milwaukee can go sit in the corner.

I set it for saturday @ 3 pst. Was thinking of pushing it back a couple days if we were stuck at less than 10 teams but I'll leave it up to you guys.

Basically I have time to do it whenever as I have no life.
