Did the first two new dungeons last night. Murozond as a ret paladin is hilarious.

Also, I seem to be pulling aggro like a mofo in 5 mans, even when I salv myself. Maybe I'm just really overgearing the tanks, but as soon as I pop wings (with both Zealotry and GotAK already active) omen starts blaring at me. And no, I don't have RF up.

And apparently, Illidan in WOE says something different if you show up with a pair of Warglaives (kinda like how Shade of Aran reacts if you pull him with somebody who has Atiesh in the raid).

    Ooohhh, that's pretty cool.

Jumped on my 5man geared Priest last night. Apparently I had enough PvP gear and other random 378s to cheat the iLvL for LFR, and of course I did so. Smite healed the shit out of that Raid, lol. Although they capped how much Smite can hit/heal for which I think is fucked up. Instead of the juicy 40-50k smite heals during Dark Phase on Zon'ozz, it was capped at like 22-28k. SAD BEAR

I also got dragged into another teams 10 man group for Dragon Soul. We did pretty good, 3/8. DPS was JUUUUUST enough to kill the 2 Forgotten Ones right at their enrages.

So yeah, Madness is pretty intense. I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to do the fight. We tried Y-N-K-A pattern, but we were murdered by the elementium bolt on Kalecgos's platform.

Also, I heard a rumor that 10 man madness is overtuned right now? Anyone know anything about that? Would partially explain why I'm hemorrhaging mana (the other part being moving to a haste build).

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the damage on Blackthorn and Madness tuned down a bit for 10M. We gave it a few shots last night two tanking it, going Y-N-K-A, and always wiping on K. However we seemed to finally be able to clear the elementium bolt on Kaelcgos' platform using spirit link totem on the last few attempts but die to Cataclysm enrage because we kept losing a DPS to the internet boss.

I think I saw somewhere that Nozdormu plat should go last. Elementium bolt is kind of crazy. I haven't raided yet (working on my DK up to 85), but I think that's the guy that slows down the bolt, yes?

I scoured YouTube prior to 4.3 for strats on all bosses...but I don't quite remember the order that was listed in that video.

When Nozdormu is gone, the bolt lands nearly instaneously after its nameplate comes. In the 10m I'm in, its survivable by running as far away from the landing spot as possible tjen poppimg a cooldown. It helps alot if your raid can kill corruption before bolt spawns.

We used 3 healers and 2 tanks in 10 man, going A-Y-N-K. I'm a feral druid spec'd to do a lot of DPS, so we had more than other two tanking combinations can have, but on the other side, we also had one of our usual DPS on his tanking alt and brought a rather undergeared DPS friend because our usual other tank had his computer blow up.

I don't think it's overtuned at all. While we did do it on the PTR, we got it down without too much issue there with the exact same set up. Two of the people had better gear on the PTR than they do on live, and all of us had gotten some upgrades, but we still essentially one shot it on live. The first time, he bugged out, so I'm not counting that.

I'm not a healer, but make sure people aren't forgetting to use their Dream CD (don't let them forget that they can use it again in P2), that they are moving away from the bolt, and that people are spreading out when the big tentacle is up so that multiple people don't get hit by crush.

Speaking of QoL changes that Blizzard always takes too long to figure out, the cast time on transmute Truegold was dropped to like one second. I think they did the same thing with the various Dreamcloth recipes, but I won't know for sure until Sunday. If Blizzard has decided now that it's not interesting or fun to stand there for 5-8 seconds rubbing your hands together, why did they feel differently a year ago?

Side note: Dream of Destruction now takes only 4 chaos orbs instead of 5, making it one of the cheapest ways to make Dreamcloth now. At least if orbs on your AH are going for around 40 gold like they were when I checked on mine.

I have never understood blizzard's attachment to the whole random chance quest drop thing. Like, if you want me to have to kill 50 bears, fine; just make each bear drop 1-3 things and the quest require 100 things. Not give each bear a 10% chance to drop a thing and require five.

Did you guys hear about the top guilds exploiting the LFR system to outfit everyone in their group with full Tier 12? I wonder if Blizz will have the balls to ban the people who did it or if they'll just take the gear back.

I wonder if that was the hotfix that caused the server restarts an hour or two ago.

If you had 25 organized people you could do pretty well without exploiting though, just by being smart about who got loot when.

If you were willing to run LFR a dozen times or more in a week, you could wait to give people tier gear (for example) until something else they wanted also dropped from a particular boss.

Sounds like they found a way to get more loot from LFR per week than is intended, or the cap of X items per boss per week wasn't working.

My question would be: if this is the case why are they shooting their mouths off about it?

Second question: how does someone even think about trying to game the system in this way?

My enhancement shammie was in the third of the new dungeons and on the last boss he dropped the fist weapon. An agility fist weapon. That the warrior tank proceeded to roll need on. Thankfully I still won it.

Um, no. This is an exploit. It's supposed to be that you can only recieve loot from a boss the first time you kill it each reset.

This is what they were doing:
Also the looking for raid system is being exploited by all the top guilds at the moment. Originally it was intended that you could only loot each boss once per week however if you run the raid with 24 people that 'cannot' loot due to having previously looted and one *new* guy that can loot all the bosses he can simply pass on the loot whilst the other raid members port out and back in allowing them to loot the corpse of the boss. So you simply rotate the 25th member with someone that can loot all the bosses each run.

Really though I think they need to change the system. Why let us queue if we can't even get the looooot!? Or, impose a roll penalty, like 10 points every consecutive boss kill. Something to make it worth my time to go back after I cleared it for the week once.

It's a relatively quick way to get VP the second time, especially if you fish for a 3/8 queue.

Well, you can still get VP for clearing the place even if you aren't eligible for loot. Not a very practical way to get VP I know, but I could see it being a good way to break up the monotony of the heroics we've done way too many times a few weeks into the VP grind.

There was a limit on how many ppl you can q up when I tried lfr on Tues. How do they get around that? Q with a few different groups at same time until it syncs?

If so, it's so obviously an exploit that they need bannings.

    Two main reasons:

    1. So if you have a fail group (or just have to leave early for some reason) and only kill, say, the first two bosses, you can go back and try again from the start in hopes of getting to kill the last two bosses.

    2. A big point about the RF raids is that they wanted no lockout mechanic so that people can raid with their friends when they have time or on their own if they want and not have to deal with all the headaches of normal raid lockout foolishness.

Edit: Oh, and others have mentioned, getting VPs for a second clear.

I did a couple old heroics earlier. A lot of people seem to have forgotten the mechanics of the ones that shipped at launch, if they ever knew them in the first place. I did a Throne of the Tides where two of the DPS tried to kill the adds you have to kite on the last boss. There were like eight or nine of them out by the time we transitioned.
