What I'm saying is the development cycle for this video game has been quite lengthy
HOW LENGTHY IS IT
Not THAT lengthy. (Comparbly)
I'm always amused that people seem to act like this game was announced in 2009 or something.
It was announced in december 2011. Like, it has not even been 2 years.....
I'm pretty sure it's going to be released soon anyway. Multiple team members have already left the project. This includes its Lead Creative Designer, Erich Fenstermaker, who's currently writing Project: Eternity's story.
it certainly seemed like a 'behind closed doors' glimpse of the game, so its not a shock that its been taken down. however it is surprising that they were able to record so much of the demo they were shown. either they were pretty crafty or someone just wasn't paying attention.
I get that game developers have a reasonable expectation of privacy when it comes to their own IP's and it's up to them when to release media, but...
In this age of smaller and smaller cameras, shouldn't something like this be expected by now? I always kinda assumed that showing a video in a public show, meant that they would also release it online.
I'm not saying I agree one way or the other, I'm just more curious as to the rational in this particular instance. There was a lot of people at that show, kind of hard to keep an eye on all of them.

it really depends on what stage the project is at i guess. there was a similar demo of Civ 5 at PAX East back in 2010 and they went out of their way to make it clear that not only was the game still in alpha, but that the build they were using for the demo wasn't even the latest. everything that was show was done so to give a glimpse at the new game, and hint at the direction they were going. that's easy to explain to a room of 10-20 people, its harder to get across when you have to tell the entire internet.
a small look at an early build can greatly inform/shape people's expectations of the final product.
as far as that relates to SP however, i think the games at a point where they should just be releasing the demo as a video. i can't imagine that the game is likely to change a whole lot between now and when every it finally gets released.
i get that exhibitors what to give con attendees something special* that's just for them, but yeah in this day and age they have to be aware that its just going to get harder and harder to contain what ever they show.

Developers don't really care. That is why you have (Usually) a lot more personal contact in kickstarter projects. They just can't comment on it, because they have signed NDA's.
Publishers handle the marketing and take this stuff off the internet. They have a tight marketing shedule and any kind of leak could influence that, so they take'em down.
I'm probably gonna side with whichever factions lets me have Butters as a companion.
So it looks like Cartman.
Butters is the best part of every episode he's in.
One of my favorite episodes is the one where everyone decides to ignore Cartman cause he's a douche. Cartman comes to the logical conclusion that he died. Butters was not in on the plan, so they thought Butters was the only one who could see/hear Cartman. Poor poor Butters...
Also the Awesome-O episode.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

Hah, I wasn't that bothered for the game before that video, but now I'm pretty excited for it

Has South Park ever been classy?
I mean, there's a lot of adjectives you could use to describe the show, but I don't think classy was ever one of them.

That it will anyway.
We've already got the aliens after all.

Entirely dependent on whether or not you got the calculations correct.
Not THAT lengthy. (Comparbly)

I'm guessing they were gonna show this at PAX.

Nothing, NDA.
Watch it while it works.
There's actually a bunch of stuff in the demo that they cut according to another user.

"We have years of struggle ahead, mostly within ourselves." - Made in USA
If that's the most offensive bit they pull I will be very very surprised.
Also Necromancer outift is way boring.
Also I can't make myself own a figure of Cartman. He's just such an asshole.
I mean, there's a lot of adjectives you could use to describe the show, but I don't think classy was ever one of them.
Aye, since 2002.
Oh Randy you're one of the best parts of South Park.
Well, I've been hyped for this for a long time now. Soon... soon.

That's the UK press release. The US one doesn't mention it.
