My only qualm about running straight to the house of valor is if it makes all the monsters in that zone be lower levelled than they otherwise would be.
Does anyone know the max/min level caps of the monsters for that zone?
Game's definitely not a cakewalk. I'm playing on normal, and I've only died once but most of my fights are pretty tough. Threshes, those ugly things that get mixed in with spiders and mages, especially the ones in the Warsworn questline when they toss summoners at you too...
Thank god I have a healing spell.
as a L21 pure might on hard, my health doesn't drop below 80% in fights. I think the last time I used a potion was when I accidentally wandered into an incinerator and still didn't die.
it's a little depressing, I can't tell if the culprit is enemy balancing or might plate with health regen or might talents with lifesteal. in any case, the game is starting to blur into a minigame of "go to circle on minimap, kill whatever, loot crap gear, repeat", so I really hope the last third of the game steps it up.

If I use gems in something, is it gone forever? As in, socket it. I can make gems from pristine shards now, but this early in the game I'm so worried about replacing anything I put them in in short period..
I figure that including them in BS crafting will obviously make them unavailable, and I'm not even sure what to put into armor or even if it's worth it at this level (just have steel armor and some weapon blades that start with 'a'). Also I have an 'epic' sword that I'm not even sure I could beat with crafting.

So the might ability (the sustained one) that buffs you up every time you kill something is awesome, except it makes such an annoying sound constantly, even when you aren't fighting. Anyone for savvy know a way to disable this?
Also, how common are twists of fate? i have about 15 hours clocked and only have two of them.
Are you the magic man?

Howdy, Koh:R thread... Amazon goofed and sent me two pairs of bonus codes for the Ultimate Treasure Hunters pack and the Fate Touched Weapons pack. I already gave the spare Ultimate Treasure Hunter code away, but I'm willing to give the Fate Touched Weapons to any fine, upstanding gentleman (or gentlelady) who wishes it, however they have to be the third caller on the PM hotline.

ARGH INDECISION.
Just craft away, don't worry about "wasting" stuff. Like I said before, health regen is always a good stat, you can make those with protection and physical under utility gems. If you're making a weapon gem, just go for more damage, either elemental or physical.
If something is just socketed, it isn't gone forever--you can remove it either using a sagecraft trainer for a fee or do it yourself for free when your skill is high enough.
"Epic" weapons only seem impressive early on in the game, and everything you craft will ultimately be better.
One thing worth noting: quicksave before you salvage stuff that might be useful, so that you can make sure you get the components you need out of it. Also, if you every get something with a flawless hilt (or equivalent component depending on the weapon, I think hammers are shafts), you can essentially use that one hilt the entire game if you just make sure to keep reloading when you salvage the weapon until you get it back for making the next tier of that weapon.

Last question for awhile I hope: Is it financially 'sound' to fateweave back to level 1, then buy the upgrades from trainers up to level 3? I've got nearly 200,000 gold and I could put the points elsewhere.
So reading through bits and pieces of this thread I’m guessing if I want this game to be more of a challenge the further along I get it may be a good idea to stop putting points into crafting altogether?
I’m only level 11 right now and I’d rather not take all the fun out of it by turning myself into an invincible god before I get too far. I was one shotting everything with my bow up until I made to Ettinmire last night. Thank god for those two headed bastards, they’re starting to put up a fight.

No, normal difficulty. Is there a way to change it after you've already started?

Ok I lied, another question: I need a book for part of a quest, but it's in a bookcase that's rather.. public. If I loot it, I get attacked by quest NPCs. WHAT I DO
Advanced Persuasion, Lockpicking, Stealth all in Adessa. Lockpicking and Stealth in the poor housing area, Persuasion in one of the offshoot zones (Hills I want to say)
(no names, sorry)
There are some enemies late in the game the...bogs? The big red dudes, you see them whenever you launch the game. For some reason their attacks ignore relentless assault.
I cannot believe how awesome this game is. I didn't really enjoy the demo, but decided to give it a shot. So impressed!

Threshes, man. Fuck those guys.
Anybody have an inkling of how damage types work?
There's: Physical, Magic, Piercing, Elemental (in 3 flavors), Elemental DoTs (in 3 flavors), Bleeding, and Poison. Some of these overlap sometimes (but not other times.) I'm trying to figure out the difference between +Critical Chance, +Physical Critical Chance, and +Magical Critical Chance. Is +Critical Chance just the combination of the other two? Does +Physical Critical Chance affect piercing? Does +Magical Chance affect Elemental attacks from weapons?
It's been so long since I bought an RPG at release that I forgot what it was like not having a detailed wiki/faq ready when I play. :bz
Any money making tips? I'm not used to being poor in these games! I sold a bunch of my useless crap to buy some new leather armor that was way better than my initial stuff, only to kill some dude and find "Fine Leather Armor" when I looted him.
I'm playing on normal, and have some rough fights. Then again, I pretty much only do the story missions and faction missions, and don't fool around with the side stuff. I don't die a lot or anything, but even normal fights with some dudes are hard(I've learned that if I see a thresh, I smoke bomb and stab the fucker in the back. Otherwise there goes all my potions).
If the game is too easy for you, just go straight through the story missions/go east. You will find stuff harder than you can handle.

House of Valor.
Challenge board.
Sprite Challenge.
FUCKING SPRITES HOLY SHIT.
Also, I am pretty sure that 90% of the people who say the game is too easy are speccing tons of might and getting those crazy abilities that give you tons of defense and make you stronger when you kill dudes.
yeah, that was such a bad idea on my part, expecting an advancement path to be viable.
I don't think that's what you're saying, but it's not like I could have foreseen how trivial the content becomes with the sheer amount of mitigation might gets even before abilities.

The might tree is ridiculously broken. Like, seriously.
I'm Finesse/Sorcery and I actually have to use buff potions and so on to beat some of the 10+ enemy fights cause of the huge amount of projectile spam and interrupts.
With full Might, you just pop your stuff and MAYBE drink a potion and then just kill everything. It's badass, but also kinda boring. At least to me.
On the one hand, that's a little disappointing the game isn't harder, on the other hand, Oblivion and Skyrim let you become literally unkillable as well, with the right custom spells/enchantments.
Maybe it's just a problem of the very customizable very open ended gameplay.
Not sure what good fixes are. I can see them releasing a 'nightmare mode'. I don't really see them going back in and nerfing the might tree for a single player game. Has that ever happened before? Pretty sure post release balance changes only happen in subscription/ multiplayer MMOs.
Huzzah, finally managed to get my EA account issue sorted with a super helpful livechat dude.
This game is awesome. One question though, does it get significantly harder? I'm only finishing the first couple of sidequests in the first village but with some chakrams and daggers I made imbued with poison stuff dies super quick.

There are very hard fights in the game. Very very very hard fights that, without reckoning, will crush you pretty easily.
You can tell you are meant to use buff potions and all kinds of stuff for those fights.
Sadly, there are some specs in this game that are hilariously broken and they just destroy all difficulty. And then you of course have Reckoning mode and some people then use the Fate potions too so they have EVEN MORE RECKONING.
That's why people are screaming "oh god so easy lawwwl".
Also, most of them are not even out of Dalentarth.
Seriously, that Sprite Fight challenge in the arena alone is fucking HARSH without Reckoning/Might spec.
Edit: And before someone says "You just suck Klyka". No, I'm pretty good at vidya gaems.
Also, I am pretty sure that 90% of the people who say the game is too easy are speccing tons of might and getting those crazy abilities that give you tons of defense and make you stronger when you kill dudes.
Welcome to my world. Sprites can really fuck you up if you aren't careful. And yeah, I'm a mage who dies VERY EASILY.... luckily I can hit 10x the amount I can take, lol.
it's not necessarily the increased damage, it's the fact that all your enemies get slower
so if you run faeblades like i do you can just dart around the battlefield hitstun-locking dudes one after the other until you eventually kill everyone
Still wanna know if money is common enough that I can buy the first 2-3 levels of a skill so I can put points elsewhere.
I am level 25 and have like 600000k. My buddies have over 1 million.
You'll be fine.
So do you just start dirt poor and unable to afford anything and then end up with more money than god naturally, or are there things I should be looking out for/doing to get rich quick?

I just pick up everything green and better, put it in my junk bag and sell it once I get to a merchant.
I have like, 2 points in mercantile through a trainer and a skill book. Detect Hidden gives you tons of extra drops and gold.
After a while you just become filthy rich.
Of course my repair costs are about 100000 every time I repair, but meh, I can get that back quickly

Caradas Hyne - Mel Senshir - Persuasion 7-9

Also, respec cost caps out at 87,040 gold. Stupid god damn trainers.
