I can't tell if I'm getting better or if I keep getting matched against comparatively bad opponents, which is really frustrating.
It's also really frustrating that people never seem to work as a team. I was in a game as Jakiro and my team forced me to lane against a Drow... spoiler, Drow right clicks THD and he dies, the end. I was also in a game with 3 INT heroes on my team, while I and the other guy were soloing lanes as Razor and Pudge and we didn't have a courier or wards the entire game.
I just tuned in to the tournament stream on Own3d.tv. Anyone know when this M5 vs. Mousesport match is scheduled to start?
He said it'll start in 20 minutes roughly 7 minutes ago.

Also it seems to me (as a highly qualified complete newb) that manta images having mana burn is what really makes AM kind of broken. He's good in every area to begin with and then on top of it just watching the NS port in to get shackled and then drained to 0 mana by two images before shackle wore off was pretty fucked up.

There's some reason. He's traditionally on the cusp of being fucking awful, so the buffs have been stacking up and now he finally gets some play. I prefer him to most alternatives.
There's a lot of things that make AM really really good.
Reduced BAT is the really obnoxious part. Best BAT in the game barring Alch during level 3 ultimate, for no reason.

Base attack time. The formula for attack speed is (1+IAS)/BAT. Most heroes have BAT of 1.7, AM has 1.35 BAT. It means he gets way more attack speed from the same amount of agility, IAS, etc.
