The bots are a bunch of cheaters and have dust as soon as you finish Lothar's. At least that's what always happens to me.
So main client just gets last weeks test client changes as expected. But no test client update this week apparently. From now on the test client will update on wednesdays while the main updates on thursdays.
Thats..better, i guess. Kinda peeved that we basically got nothing this week though.
I'm going to be optimistic and hope that part of the reason for the new schedule is that they have some heroes that are almost, but not quite, ready to be released.
What boots would you people recommend for Enchantress? I've been getting power treads because that's what's in her suggested items, but arcane boots seem to fix early game mana shortages.

"There are currently 104 heroes in Dota, and while all of them will be coming over to Dota 2, only about half of the hero pool is available in the current beta build. Use the two links below to read up on the full list of heroes and items in the game. New heroes will be added in the future as well."
From the OP, the heroes section
Do we actually know this for a fact? And if so, what's the source?

Do we actually know what for a fact? That they're porting all the heroes over? 108 now btw. I should go update that.
Which part of that statement are you bringing into question?
I'm going to assume the part about new heroes.
Icefrog adds new heroes to Dota periodically. That is not a dubious claim. TFT Dota recieved 4 new heroes mere months ago, and they will be making their way to Dota 2 in time along with the rest of the roster. By virtue of how Icefrog and Valve work it will almost certainly never be like how Riot shits out a new champion every two or three weeks, but there's no reason to believe there won't be more new characters in the future.
AFAIK Icefrog generally only outright cuts heroes if they are irredeemably broken in some way. More often Heroes that are boring and have become outmoded on the other hand have seen remakes.
i had my first stomp where i wasnt on the receiving end
felt good, man
hey does icefrog have the balls to remove a hero if he's sucky and boring, that's the real question
I know a few heroes that were removed (Gambler, Invoker was gone for a while before he was brought back). But yeah, a lot of heroes are just remade (summoner Pudge lol) or reworked (Void's ult used to be global), instead of outright cut.

Those old heroes weren't ones he made though and were around before dota had any sort of true balancing going on, so they don't count.

Razor and Storm Spirit were boring and lame heroes before their remakes.
It's almost always a good thing.
Unless you're a fan of Tree in competitive play.
I can't wait to see the rage caused by tree ult in dota 2 pubs. It shall be delicious.
What've they done to tree? Last time I saw Dota tree it was just Invis, Eyes, Armor, and Root.
Still has Inivis, eyes are gone and is now a slow that damages the enemy and heals nearby allies, armor is gone and is now an armor/regen aura (global range during daytime, still heals structures). Ult is still the giant root, but thats always been good. Team fight? NOPE ROOTED.
Anyone want to invite me to the PA Steam group? Would love to get some DOTA2 games in with friendly folks to learn the ropes. Link to my Steam profile in signature. I only casually played the original WC3 map.
I loved that guy, putting up eyes everywhere was always fun, and I didn't think it was that overpowered, I mean the enemy team can clearly see where eyes have been placed, and with that frigging axe they don't even have to buy tangos to eat them

He was way too passive and defensive back then. That's why he was changed. But now he's not that interesting. So meh.
Throw these little jabs my way, with the means of shutting me up for your idiocy?
Does this communication technique you employ work in life for you?
Pathetic.
This whole matter is brought to your attention because a full group queued together, one d/c'ed. He received an abandon, nothing more, nothing less. When that person returned, his items were missing because someone who he queued with wanted to test out if he received leaver gold or not. He played coyface when inquired, and said, "maybe a couple!" and ":<" as if we are in for a good laugh. He had no idea if I was going to come back or not, but believe it or not, I came back! If you have any reservations if someone you queued with is coming back or not, the best thing to do is clearly sell his items after he receives an abandon. I decided that I wasn't going to discuss it further, but he approached me, saying he did nothing wrong and that I was overreacting. The best thing to do, Page, is first, never to team sell items with someone you queued with, 2nd, admit fault immediately instead of playing 12inch dick syndrome, and lastly not to augment the incident with
This was a full group of penny arcade members. This was also one member deciding on his own, as he didn't ask anyone else, that the best decision is to sell his items in the event he does or doesn't return.
What I didn't expect is what I'm reading right now. You guys need to take a back seat, and comprehend what you all just wrote.
I think it's pretty clear that Ghee is going to be upset about this regardless of if it's justified or not.
I think it's pretty clear that I have no emotion regarding this subject, because I don't. I raised an issue that I think needed to be raised. If you have issues comprehending this, feel free to shoot me a pm, and I will futher describe how emotionless I am regarding this. Who are you to describe how I feel across a computer screen? Is this the Maury Show where daddy's are born? It needs to be justified? No, it doesn't. It's a concern, and I feel that by raising it, it has a lesser chance of happening again.
Oh, now I know why I never recognized the name of that one guy that tends to hang out in the PennyArcade chat channel in-game. He signed up for the forums less than a month ago and all his posts are in this thread.
I should probably have learnt by now that it's a part of Dota, but I always get disappointed when I have a good early game and then fall behind and lose later on.
I kinda wish the in-game chat channels were tied to Steam groups.
What? Is there some written code that I must abide by? I hang out in chat channel, as do you. Nicely stated! You summarized my history really well. I thank you for that. Why would it matter if I had posted something like "giggle giggle" in another thread or not? I was told to check this thread out, and I did. Peewi, You signed up on the forums, and you have posted in threads. Insightful!
Ghee, do not bring up drama from off the boards. Only a select handful of people care, and it derails the thread.
Everyone else, drop it and carry on talking about whatever.
Rorus Raz, you be modding this thread now? There is nearly nothing as important as what one has to say over the next. You chose to respond, and pretend to have some almighty control over how others should post/react. Why is it your business? "Everyone else, drop it and carry on talking about whatever?"???? Do you see the irony in this? This is a thread about dota. this is not a thread about what people should listen to, drop, and talk about whatever. If it does become a thread where people talk about Horse Hair Dye's, then its going to become about Horse Hair Dye's. In fact, the idea that you said this makes you pretty small.
He was way too passive and defensive back then. That's why he was changed. But now he's not that interesting. So meh.
He, alongside Terrorblade weren't in the pool until 6.73 because they would have completely overpowered the metagame, and that is fact...from icefrog himself. They retooled nearly every hero that needed something minor, and buffed (hardly nerfed a hero) in one of the most game defining patches in recent history. New Items, New heroes, Improvements to most heroes. This set the bar that with such extreme changes, slotting Tree/TB/etc into CM would only help narrow their focus. I find Tree extremely interesting, regardless of the state of his "remake" is in. I can't wait for all the heroes to be put into this game.
So anyway... I'm learning to jungle. Should the jungle out level the lanes, or is it primarily to deny that exp when you stack creeps?
There are many reasons why one would want to jungle.
1. A hero is able to do so.
2. A hero doesn't have much presence in lane, but can still farm and execute out of the Laning Phase with a corresponding set of items.
3. A hero can't farm in lane, and is dependent on farm, so he goes to jungle.
4. If you pull, coordinating with the laner who you are pulling for is recommended.
5. There is no rule or rhyme as to if the jungler will outlevel the lanes. It just so happens, that some heroes do, and some heroes don't. It also just happens that some heroes get denied experience, and as a result - the jungler outlevels the laner.
Jungling is a great way to ensure fast leveling in lane, by heroes that need it, while getting adequate levels/farm by being a jungler.
I haven't played in a while because I am a poor student that lost his mouse and mousepad, I only have a trackpad now.
You guys reckon it would be unfair on my teams to play with a trackpad? I can play tf2 and mass effect with it, but I'm worried about pissing people off.
Okay, I am sneaking over here from the SC2 forum. Shhh don't tell them I'm over here, they don't like to share. :P
So I recently got a beta key to this game. Have yet to try it out, is there generally a way to meet up with people for it and try it out? I'd like to get on at some point tomorrow for the first time.
