Yeah, some of the trafficking missions may give you weapons you don't use, and therefore haven't upgraded. The solution is to upgrade all weapons! I really appreciate my upgraded Molotovs, Shepards and Ultimax when doing trafficking. The SMGs and the rifles seem pretty much worthless, even fully upgraded. The squid launcher is really useful. I often use it as a sticky grenade launcher. I just wish I could use it in vehicles.

You can upgrade the regular SMG into fire bullets, which makes them a useful crowd control device. Fire a long, sweeping burst into a crowd of hostiles and watch them all panic as they're set ablaze.
trafficking is easy if you don't fight the bad guys while you are in the car, stopped.
sure, whip out the rocket launcher when you're actually moving, but as soon as the driver hops out, you better hop out too. otherwise the car tanks all the damage and will blow up.
and everyone complaining about trafficking and escort in SR3 need to grow some balls, because back in my day, SR2 activities would kick your ass six ways from sunday.
and that's BEFORE the vehicle physics bent you over. goddamn ronin bullshit missile cars

Fuckin' A. And that's ignoring the missions proper. The Brotherhood missions weren't even decent enough to use lube.
The only reason I complain about them is because it baffles me that they DID bring them back. I don't think ANYONE liked them in SR2. I mean, yeah, they made them easier, but they're still not terribly fun.
Though you're right. screw those activities in SR2. Even moreso since they got you very nice things that you WANT.

How do you land a helicopter in this game? I hit the descend button when I'm over a helipad, but after a little bit the helicopter just stops descending.
I don't see it anywhere in the controls and apparently you need to do it in the Live With Killbane mission.
EDIT: Nevermind, was hitting the wrong button for descend.
OrcaAlso known as EspressosaurusWrexRegistered Userregular
Assuming you aren't caught up on anything, you should be able to hold down descend until you land. If you do get caught up on something, you'll know when you get flung around.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, Escort is easy and is a remixed version of the hostage diversion.
Now trafficking is the bullshitter here.
That and mayhem. You pretty much need to park a tank outside of all medium and hard mayhem activities to even stand a chance at beating them- thing is, there is Tank Mayhem already so....
Wait, you have to bring your own shit to a mayhem mission? That explains why the first time I did it, I didn't even come close. It was raining and there werent any cars on the road or people walking around.
Second time was during the day and it was a breeze.
But Shaundi isn't in Saints Row 3.
Only her crazy clone that is obsessed with Johnny.
So it wouldn't matter if she's in SR4 or not.
Viola however... that would be upsetting.

In Saints Row 4, it better turn out that Gat clawed his way out of the grave.
I missed his wisecracks and your homies saying "You've been driving with Gat, haven't you?" when you crash into stuff.
So, having done the "good" ending and watched the "bad" ending, I think that either would work as a starting point for Saint's Row 4.
But though losing Shaundi would suck, the "bad" ending as a starting point for the next game would be absolutely bonkers in a great way.
Having read about the good and bad ending. I'm probably going to just pick the good ending. Not to it will matter in regards to SR4 since the developers will probably just do what they want anyway.

I prefer the outcome of the good ending. The bad ending was more satisfying however.
I was disappointed with the either/or ending, especially since
I chose to save Shaundi (who acted nothing like she did in SR2) and was rewarded with a mission that was excessively glitchy (I fell into lava, died, and insta-died whenever I went back to the last checkpoint, meaning that I had to start the mission over entirely) and so cheesy that even I couldn't enjoy it.
It would be better if you chose one of the two choices in the last mission, completed one, and
got to play the other anyway because the Boss won't let Killbane get away/let his homies die.
But Shaundi isn't in Saints Row 3.
Only her crazy clone that is obsessed with Johnny.
Except that her "clone" doesn't even look like her (although she could have went to Image as Designed). Maybe SR3 Shaundi is sober Shaundi? If that's the case, Shaundi needs to stay stoned 24/7.
Also, I hope that Kenzie is in SR4 and that she doesn't inexplicably develop a completely different personality.
So I just realized that the studio that did the shitty and bugged fucking abomination that is SR2 on the PC was CD Projekt. The same CD Projekt that is renown for their Witcher series.
Could this really be the same fucking team? How could they do so well on one project and completely fuck up a port?
I finished up a playthrough late last night with 100% of the city under my control. The only GTA game I've ever finished was San Andreas so this game grabbed me in a way GTA has generally not quite been able to.
I do wish that game companies do more refinements to the wanted/notoriety systems though. Having to get out of the car and run into a store you own or a crib breaks the flow of action too much for my tastes. Since the in game explanation for the notoriety loss is that you have people guarding the property, doing something like making notoriety drop much more quickly when you drive through an area you control would make sense since there would be less ability for your location to be found and reported due to people not cooperating as much with whoever is hunting you. Or maybe something like killing enough enemies deep enough in territory you control makes the pursuit stop due to the pursuer not wanting to waste more personnel. Always evading and laying low makes sense in a more serious game like Rockstar titles, but for games like Saints Row and Just Cause it feels weird that hiding is the only real solution as opposed to some more in line with the over the top action bits.
They should spawn a special boss mob at full notoriety and killing that dude wipes it away.
At which point this special boss would spawn stuck inside the world geometry somewhere and you couldn't kill him, thus keeping your notoriety maxed forever. /lolsaintsrowengine

Fuck that. I only want notoriety to go down when I damned well WANT it to go down. Why else did I go to the effort of geating my heat level up that high in the first place if not to shoot it out with helicopters, tanks, and whatever else they have to throw at me?

It's just as bad after having spent a lot of time grapple gun/glider cape'ing around Arkham City.
How many missions does it take to "unlock" all the activities?

Upgrades are, of course, helpful.
It makes me sad that I had to stop playing Saints Row 2 because the PC port was so god awful.
