The best two door vehicle is the Peterliner (I think it has two doors). And if I'm not mistaken, the first vehicle in the Volition intro thing whenever you boot the game up is an Attrazione. It's a beast even without upgrades, you can outrun anything with the default stats.

Also making an old man and giving him the zombie voice might just be the best decision I've ever made in this game.

...yes. Does that really have that effect? That is so amazing. I am not at all regretting my choice of picking the ignite your co-crew members mask over the Apoco-fists.

My god! Why is the hard downtown trafficking impossible? I do it in a fucking bear and still cannot manage to do without being completely flooded with morning star. Oh, switch vehicles half way through, sure- the moment I find one, Pierce decides to walk casually to it while it gets shot the fuck up.

EDIT: Okay, on my second try with the upgraded Crusader, I was able to finally do it. Then I realized I still have Zimos' hard trafficking left too. Shit!

Also, how many missions are in the game, by the way? It says I have completed 45, but have beat the game. Is that really all of them?

Yes. Yes it does. It is that amazing.

In other news, I REALLY need to get some co-op going sometime, since nobody I know who HAS the game is interested. God, I'm such an achievement whore.

Heenato, maybe we can roll through it sometime. I am of course assuming you have the correct version (PC) to do the job.

  • heenatoheenato Alice Leywind Registered User regular
Yes, PC. We'll see. Not gonna give up trying to coerce my friends into it yet.

The colors seem to affect outfits differently, so I play it by ear. I usually use either Harlequin or Royal.

Saints Purple sure has changed from game to game. It's even at times now more magenta than purple.

I thought Zimos' hard trafficking was easier than the downtown one, the downtown one took me 5-6 tries and I got the Zimos one on my first try. Probably just luck but it seems like enemies spawned a little slower. Hard Snatch is still worse.

I find the downtown trafficking easier simply because of the handgun you're given.

Just beat the game. I think I laughed more at the game near the end than at the start. But it might be because I've been hearing so much GOTY stuff from Giant Bomb. Stuff like realizing Angel is Hogan, or the ending(s).

So about the endings, does it matter what order they're done in? Will the post-game adhere to the ending you see first or last?

You get the rewards for both and the penalties of neither (unless you glitch but if that happens just load a save)

Well the final mission has a very obvious choice split, and then you do one and the game ends, and then the game plops you down before the mission and lets you do the whole thing over again and you can choose the other one.

Not sure what you mean by the order...the final mission doesn't have any lasting effects on the game world that both endings don't have.

Mainly, I just don't want any of the homies who die in the "bad" ending to still be dead after I play both endings.

I encountered an interesting glitch while playing today. I got a 5-star notoriety rating and was being chased down by tanks while in my own tank. The camera started flipping the fuck out after I tried to enter an alley, making it impossible for me to drive the tank. I was forced to get out and just barely made it into my nearby crib (Shaundi's Ex's Place). When I came back out, I saw the tank I had been driving: it had sparks flying off of it, like when it was getting shot at, and even getting near it caused the camera to start spazzing-out again. I got in it anyway and immediately got a 5-star notoriety rating.

As fun as SR:TT is, I hope S4INTS.R0W makes things even crazier. Here's what I'd like to see:

    * Awesomer Button - Enables quick hi-jacking, bullet time, controlled ragdolling, etc.
    * Increased Customization - New genetic modification technology allows your Boss to transcend a mere human form: grow horns, fur, the physique of a Brute, become a cyborg, etc.
    * Gang Operations - Choose what illicit activities the Saints conducts
    * Gang Warfare - Increase the number of followers that can be called upon
    * Random Encounters - Giant monsters, out-of-control mechs, zombie outbreaks, Anti-Saints attack forces, etc.
    * Sci-Fi - Flying cars, cyber terrorism, giant robots, teleportation, time travel, helicarrier base
    * Stay on Top - Become a villainous mastermind and crush all who oppose your control, including upstart gangs, international Anti-Saints task forces, and super powered vigilantes
    * Expand Your Empire - Spread the Saints' influence throughout the world

Yeah. I agree. I've just been playing the copy I bought over Christmas break and I will say that my main only real complaint is that the main missions didn't feel varied enough. Well at least where I'm at
at the part where the STAG comes into play
not sure how much I have left.

Replaying this final mission for the other ending. What a terrible final mission. First one I had to put the difficulty down to casual for. It's just floods of dudes and the worst parts of this game (brutes, indestructible tanks).

I think I cheesed my way through this the first time with air strikes and rocket launchers.

There is no such thing as cheese in a Saints Row game. There is only awesome and more awesome. If you aren't finding a way to cheat or exploit the game world, ur doin it rong.

Pretty much. Heck half the upgrades are cheats without the guilt of calling them cheats.

Make sure you search everywhere for the gang activity since they don't show up by themselves (I think the one you're looking for is on a boat so you may have missed it)

Yeah. If you're talking about two areas near the power plant, those are gang operations that can be a bit tricky to find.

I had a dream about Saints Row 4. It was pretty much the intro to SR3, with the taken hostage on a plane, jump out, land in a place and take it over sort of thing, but the place was some satirical/absurdist farce of an Eastern European plutocracy. All of the cars were all boxy, the little egg car had been replaced by an Isetta type thing and everyone was wearing heavy coats. The whores were naked under their fur coats, of course.

The clothing customization was an enhanced version of SR2. There were more guns and weapons, with the upgrade system of sr3, and you could change the color of them. And you could customize military vehicles. The enemies included the gang/government in charge, and a few other gangs, and the oh shit reveal enemy was the UN instead of STAG.

My Boss looked like a cross between John Travolta's character in From Paris with Love, Mr. T and Eugene Hutz.

Not sure if any of this counts as spoilers, but I shall put it in tags anyway. Need help on a bug though, please.
Having restarted already due to this, I'm in no mood to do so again, but I've just started the mission "Live! With Killbane" and noticed that in this game as well the 3 Count Casino is bugged and has turned into its stronghold version long before it should of done. Unfortunately I didn't realise the implications of the giant purple building in my last game until it was too late, and I didn't notice when it bugged out this time, so I'm not too sure when this is triggering. I'll go back to previous saves and keep an eye on it.

The only thing I can think is that I'm using your Gentlemen of Steelport, Idol. Could this be the problem, and can I continue a save made using the mod without it?

EDIT: Right, the bug hits after completing "The Ho Boat", regardless of which choice you make at the end.

EDIT the 2nd: Deleting all the GoS files while I did the mission fixed the problem, and so far I've been able to simply slip them back in and continue fine afterwards. Deleting GoS did however disable my garages, but they've come back fine now so minor issue. Probably nothing that can be fixed anyway, and not something that surprises me, really.

I've been working on a second playthrough and got to the section of the "Return to Steelport" mission where you save Kenzie from the boat where the Deckers are keeping here. The first playthrough, I stopped my boat at the ramp and made my way through the maze of cargo containers, shooting down Deckers all the way. The second playthrough, I drove full speed into the ramp, soared up it and into the air, flew over all the cargo containers, landed next to the bridge, and strolled into the room to untie Kenzie without getting shot at.

Though that was cool as hell, it would have been even better if I could have activated some kind of slow-mo, tossed a few grenades down at the Deckers I was soaring over, and watched them explode as I untied Kenzie.

Ok so the whole game alludes to cloning technology.
they could of handwaved the probable "alive" requirement and brought Gat back.

The saints ARE ultor right? we know that they have to start moving towards being the ultor on mars as well. Or is red faction like hundreds of years in the future?
