Because of the situation they're in at the moment? Hopefully they do have their dlc on sale because I'm not so sure about buying it at full price and I bet there many others who feel the same.

This whole thing about THQ President wanting to destroy SR4 by turning it into another boring ass game (RDR, GTAIV, CoD, and so on) sounds like a great premise for SR4.
Talking of co-op, I really gotta try it out properly. I did a bit with Corkeh but had little clue on what was going on. Now that I've finished the game, wanna wreck more shit with an amigo.

Woah there! RDR is a phenominal masterpiece. I don't want to derail the thread, or for Saint's Row to thematically change into a RDR clone. I don't think it belongs in a list of boring ass games though. Seeing it listed as such causes me actual physical pain

Playing through this again, can I just reiterate how much I love that Killbane says he'll hit the Saints with a "Montreal screwjob"?
I love the pro-wrestling references in the game. I honestly wish there were more. Killbane saying every line like he's doing a promo was amazing.
The dialog and some of the costumes were neat, but the actual wrestling match was a real let-down. You couldn't really do any of the neat wrestling moves you could use against regular enemies in the wrestling match, which was lame and the "do this sequence a few times to win" thing was disappointing.

And I guess we are supposed to infer that Killbane was Loren's backup that overwhelmed and killed Gat, but the game sure as hell doesn't even hint at that.
There's no real explanation for why the Boss goes to war against Killbane, instead of just beating the shit out of him and saying "The Saints are in the Syndicate now, and we are taking over Morningstar's tower, let's make some money and do some coke.
I get that, but even though for the longest time I didn't own a PS3, I still thought Uncharted looked cool.

What kills me is that it was released for the XBox as well as the PS3.
If it was released only for the PS3, I could see it.
But the XBox is basically a PC with a weird architecture. If you're targeting it, the effort to port it to the PC is, comparatively, minimal.
Under some circumstances it's just a matter of changing your build target and smacking the recompile button.

I don't get the whole "Man, PC gamers are so screwed" mentality. The PC is the best exclusive game platform on the planet. We get tons of exclusives that never see the light of day on console. Blizzard games come immediately to mind. We also get the far and away better versions of Bethesda games.
I think the PC gets enough exclusive and enhanced versions that the "God, we're so screwed by consoles" mindset can fade a little.
There was originally a mention of an Unlockables pack in the leaked info before the game shipped, but there aren't the usual references in the code to it (like unlock strings) and we're speculating that it was probably cancelled.

...that's a damn shame. So it's unlikely that we'll see much more official support?
All signs point to these being the final packs, and that there will be no more patches/fixes.
It's also a bit worrying that there has been zero buzz or media about Enter the Dominatrix, which is supposed to ship in 2 months. We don't have anything other than a crappy April Fool's screenshot to go on which was pre-Rubin. With him talking like all projects are in flux and can be changed... well, who knows.

I felt the same way about Uncharted. After playing it, I realized that looks aren't everything, and returned it to Gamefly. YMMV, of course.
I did the same thing, except I bought Uncharted 2 (which I was confident I would like more than the first game). I turned out to be right, but it still didn't warrant finishing, and the multiplayer didn't really hold up to GOW2. I had recently bought a PS3, and felt I needed more games. Not a great decision, really. The visuals weren't enough to turn it around.

I'd be up for some co-op, I've finished the game and most of the challenges so I'd be up for just starting a new game

It's way better than that. RDR uses RAGE and Euphoria, engines that have seen PC releases both before (Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City) and after (Max Payne 3) RDR. And since Rockstar San Diego also houses the RAGE development staff... it's a /boggle situation.
They're working on another open world game, so maybe RDR was so big they went straight to work on RDR2? Or maybe assisting with GTA5. Who knows.

great! You'll have to wait till next week though. Sorry. Forgot to mention I'm away from home. No PC here.
Next year, even if it comes out in Oct-Dec. seems kinda quick for Saint's Row 4... I hope they aren't trying to turn it into a yearly thing in an effort to "save" THQ. I also that this Rubin asshole doesn't have the authority to force a "toning down" of the crazy vulgar "embarrassing" stuff that makes the franchise so awesome.

Interestingly enough, if they do move forward with the supposed tonal shift towards a more 'serious' feel, releasing the game next year would put them in direct competition with the one title with which you really don't want to compete: GTAV.
If that happens... well, let's just hope that doesn't happen.

His quote sounds hopeful, but for all I know, it's spin.
I bet sr4 has been in development for a while, probably since sr3 went alpha.
I just hope it gets more cash, staff and resources than sr3 did, because sr3 could have been just as great as sr2 if it had those three things. There was a real sense of almost greatness in sr3.
I am going to remain hopeful that this is a good thing for the series, and it will give Volition more time to add in all the stuff that was missing from previous games.
SR4 was being talked about just before SR3 even came out. With a 2+ year dev cycle, I'm not worried it will be worse than SR3, specially since it will no doubt be running on the same engine.
My concern lies in the amount of people they can allocate for cutscenes this time.

Not that there's a plethora of SR stuff to talk about, I guess...
We already pulled the data on all upcoming dlc and there are only 2 packs left:
Horror Pack
Genki Girls Pack
I have pics of them linked in a couple of news posts on my blog:

I guess we'll see. I'm a bit guarded, but now that they have a decent engine, they may have a better handle on the content this time around.

Kinda. SR3 was way too short. A shorter dev time does not lead one to believe this will be rectified.
