So I bought me an Asus P8Z68-V Pro, a Core i5 2500k and 8GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. I installed it with my old hard disks, my X-Fi Titanium and the Radeon HD6870.
Thing is, I install Win 7 Home Premium, then all the motherboard drivers, reboot, install Catalyst 11.11b. After that last step, Windows stays on a black screen, never finishing boot.
I retried the whole thing from installing from a pendrive on a different partition, making sure everything is fine and got the same thing. finally, trying to boot on safe mode didn't help because the windows boot menus don't recognize the keyboard inputs.
Googling the issues didn't help at all.
You guys are a very smart bunch of dudes, please help!

sadly the only suggestion I can make other than find a new keyboard to try out, reformat your computer and install an earlier version of catalyst
And it was the most embarrassing solution ever. I had my secondary, smaller monitor plugged into the first DVI output, and I had turned it off when installing drivers because it was just mirroring the main monitor.
Welp, after installing catalyst and rebooting, it defaulted to this secondary monitor, and left my main screen black,
Crap I feel so stupid.
