Greetings everyone! Posting on an "anonymous" account (Okay, not so anonymous. You can find out who I am easily) For my university we are required to complete ITPS Module C for it's education program so that students can eventually student teach. In summary, this module requires me to use various forms of internet communication to integrate into the classroom. I thought of Penny Arcade because the community has been helpful in the past and I'd prefer to use a reliable website rather than yahoo questions, a random message board I've never posted on before, or instant messenger to do this. I'm looking for a few individuals to post responses to the question I will be posting shortly. I also want to let you know that I will be saving this thread to an online portfolio so if you don't want your name being forever documented you may want to skip over this one. :| Overall, I'm going to create a question, I hope a few peeps reply, I'll reply back, and after a few rounds of questions I'll request the thread to be locked, I'll save a copy of it, type my review of the discussion, and how it can be applied to the classroom. (This intro will later be deleted as well as a warning prior to thread locking once requested). I also hope this doesn't violate the homework rule either -_-

The question I will be asking is this.

Entering the 21st century America and the world has been introduced to internet technology. It has allowed humanity to expand its technological capabilities to new horizons. With the introduction of asynchronous technologies individuals are capable of viewing others' academic works, maintain knowledge on current events, use it for entertainment purposes, or even communicate with individuals world wide to expand our understanding of the world around us. This technology's use can also be applied to the classroom. Computers, various Apple products, kindles, etc. have begun to infiltrate the classroom setting because it makes teaching a classroom environment for children and teens of all ages interesting, fun, and allows students to practice better management skills. With newer technologies such as blackboard coming into the market and online discussion boards is it a possibility that education could be enhanced within the classroom by allowing students to discuss classroom topics such as American history online in addition to the normal classroom lecture?

It could slide under the survey rules if you were an already-participating member of the community, but as it stands this is against the rules.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn
