Auto-Open a File...

How can I set it up so that my laptop (Windows XP), will open a text file every hour, on the hour? As in, pop it up on the screen?

Probably an easy question, but I can't figure it out, and the "Help" file... is no help.

You can use Task Scheduler to do that. I'm not sitting in front of my XP machine, and Vista moved everything around, but I'm sure you can find it pretty easily.

I thought Task Scheduler was just "Defrag", "System Cleanup", that sort of thing.... I'll go check.

YEah, the best I can do is "once per day" with Task Scheduler. I'll try Major Geeks and try to get something.

You can make a custom task and make it launch pretty much anything. Input after the fact, not so much, but it will definately be able to launch Notepad.exe

You could just set up 24 tasks. ;)

By the way, what would you be using this for? It doesn't really pertain to the question, but I'm strangely curious.
