    Laggard stomps his way up towards the warlock that blinked into existence at the doorway to the room. "Hold on lads, Laggard is coming!" His axe raised for a strike.

    Sliding up alongside Bjorn, Laggard attempts to strike with warlock and call upon Moradin to give a boon to Bjorn's next strike, but ast the last minute, the warlock twists out of way!

    "Ach!"

    Jessup turns when Bjorn calls after him only to see one of the Hellfire Wralocks emerging wreathed in flame.

    "What an unpleasant looking fellow. Lets see if we can't be rid of him shall we?" As his orb flashes a sickly shade of green and enormous orc in rusted armor appears out of thin air next to him. Howling ferociusly the creature swats at the warlock with a club which strikes him on the side of the head. The wralock's head snaps back violently and he is left staggering around.

    Jessup cups his hands around his mouth and shouts at the others who remain in his line of sight. "Keep up the good work genltemen!" Then the gnome turns and presses his hand into the looming door.

    Action:
    Standard: Illusory Ambush(ranged 10) vs Hellfire Warlock 2 at R5 1d20+10= 17 vs Will Hit!
    Damage: 1d6+7= 12 and Hellfire Warlock takes -2 to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.

    Snarling with feral rage Bjorn bashes the warlock that bloodied him towards the boiling mud below. Before the warlock can react Bjorn takes a second to gather his fortitude and then runs past in a full charge towards the other hellish minion slashing it with a bone crunching scream. Usually enemies cower and run before such a display, but this Warlock seems more afraid of Mordai Vell and his wrath than an Iron Wolf's scream. His armor still smoldering with hellfire, Bjorn readies himself for the warlocks' retribution.

    Action:
    Take 5 Fire Damage, resist 2.

    Standard: Tide of Iron vs. Hellfire Warlock 2- Tide of Iron vs AC: 1d20+13 28 1d8+6 11

    Success! It does 11 damage and pushes Hellfire Warlock 2 to Q4 (He needs to save versus the forced movement)

    Round 5/20!

    The fighting is now joined in earnest as all of you throw what you can at the pair of warlocks and Fire Bat, scoring several hits against the unfortunate cultist trapped in the doorway. Jessup, meanwhile, sets forth to peek into the adjoining room to the entry chamber, noting a rectangular room with a set of double doors at its far end while the floor exhibits hairline fractures that betray an orange light flickering from beyond.

    Suddenly, you all hear a distant rumble amid the sound of maniacal laughter. "Suffer the wrath of my master!" shouts Mordai Vell. Flames then tear through the complex, blasting doors and walls and igniting you all aflame. The shock of the blast rattles the doors, causing their mechanical action to stop functioning and provide you some reprieve as you move through the various rooms. Laggard and Jessup both witness the remaining pair of oil pools burst into flame, joining the other pair having bet set earlier by yourselves.

    Fortunately for Jessup, he only managed to get to the doorway into the eastern most room. When the rumbling and fire hits, the floor's cracks widen and break apart, falling into the now-revealed lava below and causing the room to become all but impassable except for a ledge near the room's northern pair of doors. Unfortunately for the party, the blast of fire isn't very kind to the Chamber of Platforms. Koh-nunDah, Sceolan, and Bjorn suddenly find themselves trapped on various platforms as several of the swinging platform's chains break off from the ceiling and fall into the mud below. This includes the platform Melgar's standing in and it is only his quick reflexes that save him from a lethal drop below as he jumps next to Koh-nunDah.

    The fire bat through all of is simply remains flapping in the air. It then takes advantage of the distraction caused by the explosion of fire to skirt around its two enemies, lashing out with a Fiery brand at both of them, but managing not much of anything. In fact, it sports another wound from the defender's quick reactions as the only result from its foray.

    Hellfire Warlock Saving Throw: 1d20=20, Success!. Hellfire Warlock 2 is knocked Prone in R5.

    Hellfire Warlock 2 Opportunity Attack at Bjorn, 1d20+9-2-2=15, Miss! vs AC.

    Melgar's Saving Throw to avoid Falling, 1d20=12, Success!. Melgar jumps to N8.

    Everyone then takes 10 fire damage and suffers Ongoing 5 Fire (Save Ends) at the end of Round 4 from the explosion of flame.

    Fire Bat
    Standard Action - Fiery Swoop: The Fire Bat shifts up to 4 squares and can move through enemies' squares during the shift. Each time it enters an enemies' space for the first time during the shift, it uses Fiery Touch against that enemy. Fiery Bat shifts to O8 passing through Koh-nunDah and Melgar's squares and takes 9 damage,
    * Fiery Touch at Koh-nunDah, 1d20+8=9, Critical Miss!

    Bjorn finds himself staring at one of the Hellfire Warlocks, the creature's determination and hate suffusing all the emotion present in the man's face. He sees the warlock inhale briefly before shouting, a word of fire rippling out in a shockwave that washes over Bjorn's body. Even as he resists much of the fire's impact, the very force of the Shout propels him back threatening to toss him into the mud. It is only quick thinking that allows him to drop to the ground on the platform that keeps him safe. Still, these warlocks have other tricks and the man smirks before vanishing in a roaring fireball, searing both Bjorn and Sceolan's flesh and ripping Koh-nundah away from Melgar's aid.

    Meanwhile, the second of the warlock growls, humiliated that he had been forced to the ground in a heap. He spits at the dwarf towering above him, crawling desperately out of the man's reach even as Laggard is primed for a strike against him. Regardless of the dwarf's strike, the warlock recovers whatever magic he can and explodes in a similar fireball to his compatriot, burning both Laggard and Melgar and sending the latter to safety if only for a short time.

    Flames continue to rend the flesh of Sceolan. To ease the pain he grabs one of the healing potions he brought and guzzles it down. The temporary relief gives Sceolan enough time to line up another shot at one of the forsaken warlocks. This time the arrow finds its mark, landing cleanly in the warlocks torso. Shortly after taking the shot, the burning agony takes over his body again. He desperately tries to pat out the flames to no avail.
    Take 5 fire damage

    "Face me like men you cowards!" Koh-nunDah roars and stows his spear long enough to grab a piece of dried mud off the platform and fling it at one of the warlocks. His aim is surprisingly good and it smacks the firey bastard square in the face blooding it's nose. Grunting he pats the fire out and glares at the warlocks, daring them to come closer.

    Taking a deep breath and steeling himself, Laggard churns his stubby legs as fast as he can and hurls himself into the air towards one of the remaining platforms. Arms and legs flailing in the air the dwarf reaches out, fingertips streaching...and gently brushing the side of the platform as Laggard doesn't make it.


    Actions:
    Take 5 fire damage.
    Minor: Second Wind - Recover 11 HP, +2 to defenses
    Move & Standard: Get a nice long run in and JUMP = sunovacrap!

    Fire slid off of Jessups robes like water. The gnome was left coughing slightly and batting at the hem of his robe which was smoking slightly. As he peered down into the fiery chasm beyond the doorway Jessup couldn't help but admire the sheer determiniation of their foe.

    He turned on his heel and charged in the direction that the rest of the party had gone seconds ago arriving just in time to see Laggard's fall.

    The tiny gnome glared at the warlocks and the fiery bat atop the closest platform and raised held his orb out in front of him. It began to bubble and hiss like a boiling pot of water. Across the room caustic green slime erupted beneath the wralocks and splashed up onto the fire bat. The acidic ooze left burning red welts on their flesh and quickly reduced their clothing to ruins. Both of thw wralocks clawed at their skin and screamed as it peeled away from their bones in a horrific mess. They quickly collapsed into the bubbling pool of acid and vanished.

    "I learned that spell from a very unpleasant Warlock who assured me it would reduce dragon scales to mush in minutes."

    Fireburst Armor Property: I automatically succed on saving throws against ongoing fire damage. I'm not going to roll since I can't fail unless you want me to do it for the sake of rolling Aegis. Which I wouldn't mind.

    Round 6/20!

    Dwarves may be sturdy but they are apparently not built for flight. Laggards legs work hard to propel him towards one of the outstretched platforms. Still, this is not enough and he finds himself descending before he can reach the safety of the stone suspensions and instead falls into the mud below. The fall itself nearly does him in, sending him immediately into blackness, but the boiling mud that makes up the bottom of this room works quickly to sear the rest of his flesh. In only a few moments it is more than likely that he will be burned beyond recognition.

    Meanwhile, both warlocks dissolve under the acidic spell unleashed by Jessup. The Fire Bat is a tad bit more lucky in that it is only mostly dissolved and still flapping. It screams in a rather unholy high-pitched wail before charging at both men standing in the entrance to the room, but the burns on its body that have dissolved several teeth render its attempts at a pair of bites completely useless. It flaps beside the two men in a rather pitiful state.

    Laggard attempts to jump to the nearest platform but comes up a little short. He falls into the boiling mud taking 2d10=16 falling damage and 10 fire damage, dropping him unconscious and dying. The boiling mud will deal 10 more fire damage at the end of each turn that you remain within it. At the start of a person's turn within the mud, roll a d20. On a 10+ a geyser shoots you up out of the mud to land on the nearest platform.

    Being on the other side of the room from all the action, Sceolan decided the best thing he could do for the team was attempt to take out the Fire Bat so the others could rescue Laggard. Fighting through the pain of the flames scorching his body, he takes aim at the bat and successfully brings it down. He then pats out the flames and takes a step back to make room on the platform for his comrades.

    Determined to get off the platforms and continue towards smashing evil faces in, Koh-nunDah quickly circles around the platform he is currently on and takes a massive leap towards the one north of him. He takes off with such force that he lands behind Sceolan, steadying himself against the door as it slowly swings open. "Come now! Get silly dwarf out of mud! We go kill them!"

    Slowly sinking into the scalding mud, Laggard Barrelbutt unconscious mind is preparing to meet his god. He is unaware that the fire and mud continue to ravage his body, and he also unaware that he is being flung 20' into the air at the top of a bursting mud geyser to land unceremoniously on the platform.

    Blessedly, the wet mud and rushing winds of his flight has put out the fires engulfing his clothing.

    Laggard is unceremoniously shoved up by the geyser onto the nearest platform, saving him (for the moment) from certain death. Meanwhile, as the rest of you work on hopping along the platforms which have not falling into the boiling mud below, Sceolan and Koh-nunDah peer through the opened door to the north to find no immediate threats in the area. A featureless ten foot-wide corridor leads away to the right and left marked only by the numerous everburning torches resting along the corridor's walls much like the rest of the dungeon. A statue rests in the corner of the right-hand path and from that direction you can feel the heat and glow of a pool of lava, barely reaching around the edge of the bend just a few feet away from that statue.

    A glowing silver hand appeared in midair in front of Jessup. The hand wrapped it's fingers around the rope before floated out over the muddy pit. Slowly the rope went taut as the hand tied it off around the platform and then vanished into thin air.

    Jessup tugged on the rope making certain that it was firmely in place before he started working his way along it. Dangling over the mud the tiny gnome cut a comical figure. Like some daring street performer trying to leave a crowd back in Neverwinter in awe.

    Jessup placed his orb onto the dwarf's chest and shut his eyes. "Sehanine goddess of the moon your servant asks a favor of you. Wrap this dwarf in the shadows of your cloak and hide him from the sight of the Raven Queen. Do this so that he might see a great evil prevented."

    The silvery glow of Jessup's orb begins to fade as sweat appears along his brow. Wiping his forehead on his sleeve he pressed his hand to the orb which flickered before it dimmed entirely. He stood up and looked down at Laggard sadly.

    "I am sorry I could not do more for you my friend. Enter the halls of your ancestors proudly and know that you did not fall in vain."
