this thread reminded me to get around to deactivating my facebook account
and
they actually put up pictures of your friends and say "this person will miss you" and "this person will miss you"
joke's on you, facebook, I haven't talked to any of those people in months!

When it says "who can search my timeline by name or contact info", isn't that just the same as whether or not I can turn up in search results like before? I just kept it at everyone.

Which is to say i tied it to my personal/real gmail account that it turns out I am very rarely logged in to. More often than not I'm logged into my junk email account or my work email.

The only family I have on my facebook is a few cousins that I don't mind sharing the occasional status update with. They're mostly the same age as me so I don't have any older types checkin' me out. My mom is the only parent of mine on Facebook and she flat-out said she didn't want to add me, which is fine by me.
I stopped posting on Facebook about 95% of the time when I finally started using Twitter anyways. Now it's just creepin'.

y'all are SLOW
G+'s luster faded rather quickly once I discovered it's still blocked on government computers with no sign of changing anytime soon.
But at first glance privacy concerns on social media sites seem like if I was gonna be worried about some random lurker reading this post.
Maybe if someone other than Felicia Day ever posted anything at all.
G+ is more boring than email.
i opted in and switched all the settings you suggested
it's definitely stuff i would've done eventually
do they block Facebook too or what
I just deactivated my account too.
Feels good, man.
maybe you should add someone other than Felicia Day
just sayin'
Nope. Facebook has been allowed for a couple years now.
it's the best way to keep in touch with the none of my friends that use G+
I dunno, Britney Spears has over a million followers on G+. Does that count for anything?
If more than 30ish people joined, and then maybe actually posted stuff.
Point is, it's a good idea with around a tenth the userbase as other social media.
there are currently 50 million Google+ users and it's still growing
it's not catching the internet on fire, but it's not losing users either
Ok, let me try this.
It's not for me.
the news feed page is still crap
me and some sharebros, readin stuff

Also wish it wasn't tied to Gmail accounts.

Don't add people to your friends list that aren't at bare minimum, tolerable acquaintances.
I made the same mistake!
I would just feel like a huge fuckin' jerk if I blocked them or de-friended them

Or get another invite to "hemp tycoon" from my uncle
This is either a good joke or alarming news.
Then the ones that I did add saw that I'm not a backwoods Texas hurfderf fuck yeah America hick and they finally stopped bugging me.
