I managed to get to my Steam Gift inventory screen before it went black, and it looks like they gave me a copy of Greed Corp and a 50% off any Valve title coupon. I have Greed Corp already, and won't use the coupon. Provided I do in fact still have them when I get back into the system, does anyone want them?
Portal 2 was 7.50 for a brief moment, and my heart was joyous. Now it's 15 again, and I'm left with only sad - oh, no wait, it's 7.50 again. Guys, it's been like ten minutes and I think this is too much of an emotional rollercoaster for me. Nobody warned me.
Edit: Ok, it's 15 again. What is happening.
Shit, $7.50 was one of my 2 "I will buy X if it hits $Y" but I can't get the store to load.
Also of note, it does not seem to count Winter achievements until they reveal them daily. I have earned 11 or so, but only Orcs Must Die and Anomaly Warzone Earth register as achieved since they are up today.
cue people posting something like..gee i really want XXXXX, but I just don't know in a what they think is a non-obvious ploy to get someone to buy them things
hey whoa, a lot of people use this thread as retail therapy and to work through their purchasing decisions on a budget. we're here to support them (i will probably say this at some point without expecting free games in return) remember. This is Steam thread!
there is a big difference between, should i hold off on something and the people looking for handouts. we are a thread of enablers, and there are a lot of are these worth it posts.
I know I'm guilty of using the phrase "is it worth it", but I mean that in the literal sense. I hate spending money on shitty games, even if I'm only out $2.49.

is fable 1's price just because of the daily? or is that it's sale price the whole time? store is sucking it up on me so I can't navigate it real fast. just wondering if it's "pick it up now" or wait till end of sale territory.

Says it's a daily deal when you go to the store page.

Same, and I probably wouldn't even want someone to gift me a game I was unsure and asking about, since then I would feel obligated to play it even if I didn't end up liking it.

I was planning to hem and haw for a while before buying it if it hit $10, so this? This'll do. It was sitting in my cart at $15, but when I tried to run through to checkout it dropped down to the correct price. So. It begins.
Oh, I get it! Each Winter achievement has a chance of present or coal. I have two recognized achievements so far, I got presents for one of them, and presumably one coal. Greed Corp for the achievement and the 50% coupon as a Steam Gift.. At least I think that's how it's going.
Does anyone actually not have it at this point? Seriously?
If they don't, they should
That game was a well spent Christmas break jumping out of planes and crashing into giant explosive towers.
Came to ask if it was worth it, glad to see it probably is. Have to pick that one up today. Woo 5 buck games.
The story is hilariously bad, but that's easily ignored. If you like open world sandbox games, this is a good one. There are also mods to things, like reducing the price of items by 90%. So whenever you want to go somewhere, just summon your personal jet and when you're done surfing on it, crash it into a military installation.
I wouldnt say Fable 3 is terrible, but its not good either. Every Fable game they make it "more accessible" and its now basically at the point where its way too accessible. I think Fable 2's accessibility was okay, maybe a little too easy.
Really, what I think I hate about Fable 3 is that if you want someone to like you hit A, if you want someone to hate you hit B.
Question: Is The Hallway a very early OMD level? I havent even installed the game yet, but its the only one I own for todays Cheevos. Can I get there with what time I have today?

haha thanks. I'm hoping the client settles down soon so I can move around easier
I keep going to my inventory, and looking at the coupon, but it's not registering as completed.

Ok, I remember there was a Steam thread regular who didn't own a copy of Max Payne 1&2 on steam. Who was that person, and did anyone ever buy them the pack when it was last on sale?

Its the very first level. Super easy to accomplish if you've already run through the game and have all the magic and weapons and whatnot.

I am about to sit down and watch MI4 / Batman prologue in IMAX.
Do NOT buy everything yet. There needs to be gift opportunities left when I get out of the theatre!

Is truth from on high.
Yeah I guess this is true as well.
Of course, this is coming from someone who thinks Mirror's Edge is a piece of crap.

Albion Prelude was only $10 previously, wasn't it? It's showing as $20 at half off currently.

Every single game on Steam? How much would that even cost
