more evidence for fake: black-aperture.com has ip 182.50.134.1. thinkwithportals.com has ip 63.228.223.103 as does steamcommunity.com. store.steampowered.com has ip 63.228.223.104.
182.50.134.1 is a signapore ip, the others mentioned here are american.

Ok, so I don't want to go back through the massive thread...quick rundown on DoD cheevo?
Basically, start with alchemy, kill a thingy, buy a drink and make the grog or whatever?
Diggle Nogg = Aqua Vitae + Grog + Diggle Egg
If you choose alchemy you'll start off with the aqua vitae and the necessary equipment to make the drink. Grog can be bought from drink vending machines. Diggle eggs can be found on the floor of the dungeon in nests. With a bit of luck you should be able to do all of this on the first floor.

Too much ... Steam is my hero.
Greetings Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada.
So, those games I bought to gift. They're not showing in my inventory to give out. What gives/?
Give it some time. I bought 4 things this morning and sent them to my inventory. Took about 30 minutes for them to show up even though I'd gotten the confirmation email from Valve right after paying.
Renegade Ops has a Xmas achievement, so I'm really hoping that it becomes one of the daily deals. Looks like a total blast.
Every game with an achievement in the summer sale and this one so far have been on sale the day of their achievement listing, right? So you're pretty much guaranteed.
In other news, a fond tip of the hat to classy @Prisca for Orcs Must Die! They will.
Just a heads up for anyone interested, the Renegade Ops achievement is related to the DLC so you'll want that too. And for the people that already have it, here's where you'll find Santa. I spent ages looking around before I ran into that screenshot and immediately found him.
And a huge thanks goes out to @Prisca as well but in my case for Oblivion. :^:

Are you in the "Steam" tab on your gifts page?
Yeah. It shows my coal, my two coupons, and that's it. But it says I have 4 things in there. I dunno wtf
Try the tf2/portal 2 trick. Go into the game, open the store and browse items, then exit game.
If that doesn't work, try opening a trade window with one of your friends. This one worked for me.
Recettear is great, if you're undecided still. I'm on the fence about Chantelise. Haven't played it, but people seem mixed. Do I go in at $2.49?
I enjoyed it, but it took a little getting used to play. It was also pretty short. I picked it up when it was half off and had fun enough with it that I felt I got my moneys worth. It isn't really comparable to Recettear except for the art.
I've thought about Recettear, but the cutesy, man it puts me off. It stretches though to just about all things anime, so its not like its a singular offender. Might pick up Witcher to replace my lost copy, but apart from that just a couple of DoD gifts I think. I'm waiting for the new Stardock stuff to be a daily, and I don't want to blow my cash too quickly. I've only got $35, and there's a lot of sale left to go.

This thread moves so fast...just now catching up. Looks like Psychonauts and the Dredmor DLC are all for me today. I may wait until the new sales start tomorrow, though, to see if I can toss a couple of those deals in the same cart. Now, off to try a couple of these future achievements.

Thanks. I got the egg and alchemy, but I have to buy diggle grog? It's mad expensive! Or is it something else?

Ok inventory issues have been sorted (by starting a chat with someone, oddly enough. no trade needed)
Witcher and Psychonauts have been claimed.
More to come soon hopefully! Stay tuned, and stay classy, San PAgo
Also, the worst part about giving out a lot of gifts is refreshing your "pending gifts" page over and over. Check your messages people! I feel like Santa Claus watching a bank of webcam feeds into people's homes on christmas morning and oh wow that metaphor came out a lot creepier than I intended.

It's just grog. It shows up everywhere. It's not expensive at all, either.

Buy grog and find a diggle egg. Then combine them into diggle grog!

You can also find the grog in random rooms or in chests. Grind a bit of gold while you search for it. If you have bad luck you can always buy it later from the vending machine.

Ya I died about 100 times because I felt the need to be a man and go Rogue then I gave up and got it in about 5 minutes.
A lot of people like Toki Tori. I just hate it. If you like trial and error puzzler games, you might enjoy it. I just hate going through a level and then finding out I'm one bridge short because at one point I should have tricked a line of enemies so I could freeze them at some spot to save a bridge.
Suddenly I feel like a bit of a dick for putting Recettear up as a giveaway...that ends tomorrow. After it goes off daily deal. Shoulda had that end tonight sometime.
About 45 minutes left for this, http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/sVtcQ/humble-indie-bundle-3. I'll get it out to the winner at some point tonight before going to bed. Going to be busy watching Open Court and Arrested Development for the rest of the night.
So I'm thinking since I managed to get Steam on wifey's laptop that I'm going to use it as a gateway drug for her and try to get her playing some stuff that doesn't involve facebook. I used Sims 3 as an excuse to get her onto Steam (using my id). I read an article about a short indie adventure game that takes places in the memories of an old man that made the reviewer cry and it sounded like a neat fit for her - but I can't find the article now - it was in a top 30 for 2011 thing. Anyone know what it is?
@Lindsey Lohan: I know you already discovered the game you were thinking about, but I thought of Trauma http://store.steampowered.com/app/98100/ when reading your description, which is a point and click photo adventure game about a woman who was in a car accident. Though I haven't played it yet after getting it in one of the HIBs, the reviews I saw made it sound like it would scratch the same itch as the game you were thinking of.
Apparently Dungeons of Dredmor keeps crashing because of my version of OS X and there's nothing I can do about it. Dang. No Christmas achievement for me apparently.
DoD - Ran through the tutorials, got the achievement, ran around looting...holy crap there is so much stuff and I don't know what any of it does. It feels like I need a spreadsheet next to me to play this sucker.
Psychonauts - This is scratching an itch that hasn't been scratched since the first Jak and Daxter. Badly need to buy a controller though. So many years as a console gamer has made me awful with KBaM.
