Howdy ho neighborinos. So having picked up a new firearm for my collection last week I was curious if anybody else on this board shared an enthusiasm for powder burning projectiles as I did.

Plinking? Recreation? Competition? Hunting? It matters not!

Stand and deliver!

Way to not manage expectations :|

But I do enjoy a shoot. I just picked up a double barrel 4-10 and I already have a 12 gauge.

It's mainly shooting targets but I do shoot foxes and rabbits now and then

I miss two things about the military: my friends and the annual trip to the rifle range.

Fortunately, my roommate and I live down the street from a well-equipped gun store with an indoor range. He lets me use the Beretta and he's got a Glock. Both great fun.

Personally, I want to get a nice 1911 some day. Not one of the cheap crappy ones, but a legit 1911.

A bunch of us like guns. You'd have been better off lurking a bit and perhaps posting in the Christmas purchasing thread instead of making a new thread, then being all uppity about it not being loved.

I picked up mine secondhand through a longtime family friend, and I'll relay exactly what he told me: A 1911 is in the craftsmanship and talent of the gunsmith who tunes it. A well built older series 70 or 80 with Wilson, Nighthawk or Ed Brown internals and a proper smith to make the adjustments will get you 80-90% of what the higher end 1911's can produce. The rest comes down to the shooter.

That having been said, my god would I love to own a Predator one day. Absolutely gorgeous.

29...isn't that the ultra compact 10mm? I've fired the 30 before in 45acp and it kicked like a mule.
