Then it wouldn't let me trade my 25% off Valve coupon for something even less interesting, because "Guru says no".
Now here I am looking at Rage, feeling vaguely tempted, even though I won't get around to it for ages - and then I discover that the UK price is a 30% markup on the US price. £15 matching $15.
Fine. I'm going to go play Reccettear. That'll show it.

Borderlands is first person Diablo with guns. That's really the best description.
Randomly generated guns that look all unique and have stats like fire rate, accuracy (how wildly from the reticle it varies), power, reload speed, zoom, and elemental effect (like fire, ice, electricity, or explosions on impact). Gun types like SMGs, revolvers, machine pistols, assault rifles, shot guns, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, etc. plus four classes that have unique class skills like building turrets, going into RAGE PUNCHY mode, or phasing into invisibility and exploding everything around you as you do so.
If you're a sucker for loot, it's amazing. Up to 4 player co-op. good times.

* Randomly distributed monsters
* More than one active skill per class
I enjoyed it, but it's honestly not a good shooter, it's not a dungeon crawler, and it's not a good RPG. It's sort of in its own category, something like a 4-player MMORPG-style FPS with random guns.

Folks asking for friend requests for more friends, steam seems to like to meditate on it. You may want to throw out the request a bit later. the web version is crapping out like mad trying to friend people (or do anything outside of the store).

Feeling pretty good about buying Saint's Row 3 off of THQ's Euro site @ 24$ along with the DLC Season pass than today's lackluster deal on Steam.
Pleased to see From Dust on a little cheaper than it has been today, too. That always looked like a game that would benefit from a mouse instead of a controller.

The actual shooting is not good. It's not very tactical, or fast, or precise, or competitive, nor does it have impressive AI, or any of the other properties people generally identify as distinguishing good shooters from average ones. That's not to say the game isn't appealing; it is. But not on the strength of the gunplay itself.

I had very minor ones initially (2x6950s), but they fixed it pretty quickly. Runs and looks great now.

Well, the AI is behind the times for sure, but Borderlands is a game that makes shooting mans extremely satisfying.
What's your Steam ID? Because searching the group for "Sheep" didn't turn up anything. Are you sure you're in the right group? This one?
