Yeah, Friendly Neighborhood is too out there for me. I like David and I've tried to get into it, but its just not for me.

Although I did enjoy the Mysterio arc.

Also, in ASM #500, Peter got to talk to the real Uncle Ben for like 5 minutes. It was a birthday present from Dr. Strange.

The whole "weren't you just dead?" thing doesn't bother me nearly as much as the "oh my god this is like something out of a comic book!" shit that keeps popping up.

Perhaps it is less about the actual dying and more about how those deaths and character moments are written?

Someone mentioned 52 here earlier, and now, taken as a whole, I think the entire thing was awesome, even if two characters I liked died, the overall story was so well conceived and executed, I consider their deaths noble due to the story they were involved with.

Compare that to, say, Jason Todd, who was never really well written, and whose death was a publicity stunt for DC and just vicious and needlessly violent...

Perhaps it really isn't the death/rebirth cycle you people are really upset about.

OK, recommend to me a book or two. I'm currently working on getting myself back into comics and I have room on my monthly list of books to add probably one or two more titles. I need some suggetions.

    Adjectiveles X-men
    Astonishing X-men
    Thunderbolts
    New Avengers
    Ultimate Spider-man
    The Ultimates

The above is what's currently on my list, I've thought about something out of the following:

    Nova
Spider-man (not sure which adjective I want to tag onto the beginning)
    EXiles
    New Excalibur

to add to the list but I'm not sure, any suggestions on this list or even new additions would be super. Thanks.

Looks like you are doing purely Marvel. I would say you should add: Immortal Iron Fist, X-Factor, and Amazing for your spider-man adjective(its the main line, though the others are more 'fun'). Nova has been totally awesome so far, and if you get the Annihilation TPB, you'll see even mroe badassery from him. As far as the Ultimate universe goes, perhaps add UFF to that and you'll be good to go.

Runaways for sure, and if you're looking for spider-man I'd say stick with Amazing since that's pretty much the flagship title. Nova is pretty kick ass right now you might want to check out the first 2 and see if you like 'em.

I'll second, or I guess third, Runaways. The first two hardcovers are available now, and the third (which completes BKV's run) is out wednesday. Plus, Whedon's run is only 2 issues old, so its way easy to get all caught up. Plus, its an amazingly awesome book.
