Enemy Gunner had like 12 kills by the five minute mark. He was up in the jungle from the very beginning, before bots were even in the lane, so I'm not sure how he managed that. He and a Combat Girl just controlled the whole damn game.
He ended the round with something like 35 kills, their Assault 15, tank 5, and a couple for the others.
Just... Wow. Yeah, that was my last game for the night.
According to the forums, this is not a beta thing. They're actually toying with the idea of making all the pros free at launch, and this just might be a test as to how good the skin/taunt/boost sales are.
Man, now I kind of want to buy some costumes/taunts to help support them, but I'm afraid they will then decide not to keep all Pros free, so I would have preferred to keep my money for actual pros.
Well buy some uber points then see what they decide to do? That is how they get the money, not you using the points persay.
Hey Rorus, I watched that tutorial video you posted up earlier, pretty good stuff man. I think you covered most everything, though, I don't know if you covered the $500 bot spawner in the home base that spawns a Fuji and 2 drain bots (which is unfortunate as its hands down the most important bot spawner in the game). Also mentioning that using the ejector sets off the cooldown for the enemy's ability to activate the ejector would be good to mention for new players as well.
Other then that everything seemed really solid, even if it was painful to watch you upgrade fly on the assault last (I kid I kid). :P
Yeah, I don't play assault. I wanted something that would kill bots quickly so the game didn't take 45 minutes. In retrospect, I should have played Karl, the striker I am more familiar with. Obviously fly was kinda useless in a practice game.
I actually mentioned the Fujibot spawner in a previous take, but I am new to Fraps and didn't realize that it shuts off when you alt tab. So that was ~15 minutes of recording down the tubes. On the plus side, I got to mention Chicky this time (previous takes didn't last long enough). I also forgot to mention the bacon pickup.
I thought you did mention the bacon pickup, you said it gives back full health, if I recall correctly. Bummer about the lost footage
I learned some new stuff watching it, like, I had no idea that bringing down a moneyball caused your side to spawn Jackbots. Also fly would have been awesome because it lets you move around the map faster, wheeee
Speaking of Chicky, do you know what causes him to spawn? Is it just a time based thing or does it trigger based off of any event? Because I'd say he only shows up in about half of my games, and usually at that point someone's moneyball is being eaten alive anyway so he hasn't really been too relevant yet.

Pretty sure its a timer thing. Just part way into the game he'll start spawning. Around 15-20 minutes I think.

I just added Rorus's tutorial videos to the op, and will try to add more recent gameplay videos later. Just as reminder to everyone, if you have content to you want added to the op, don't hesitate to post about it in the thread or pm me.

This is super fun. I was on the winning team for my first two matches with no idea what the deal was. Then I read some things and I've been on a none stop losing streak ever since.

Heh, my experience was virtually the same. Jumped in knowing little beyond "try not to die" and won two games. Went and looked things up to understand what the hell was going on in the matches and promptly had a streak of six losses. Ignorance is bliss!

I love both the medics. Not to toot my own horn but I might be the only half decent medic that plays this.

I'm going to say that you are at best half decent because if you are treating them as medics you are at best only playing half of the class. I am of course, teasing you somewhat.
But really both of the defenders are so much more than just medics. They are very strong area control in the form of their turrets (especially useful for helping your team control the annihilator). They are both capable of farming bots and pushing lanes very hard between their airstrike/laser, turrets, guns and ability to heal bots. And they are capable of shredding players with well placed lasers and air strikes and their guns.
They are very capable classes. Knowing when to heal (or overheal armor) and when to do the other things they are capeable of is no easy task. When I first played them practically all I did was heal, which is a waste. Now I probably don't heal enough.
Speaking of healing, does anyone know if you are healing a pro while they are killing bots makes you count as getting assists for exp/money? If not, making sure to stop healing to tag bots when they hit 25% health is going to an important to make sure you keep up on farm relative to the other pros.

Oh, I'm aware they have turrets and fairly hefty direct damage attacks but they really seem to be a medic first. Or at least, when I play it like that I seem to win at the rear of dramatic charges that sweep over the enemy. Normally while their medic (if they have one) cocks around with his secondary weapon.
On the other hand I'm useless with the classes that focus on grappling.

We almost won a 4v5 last night, but the game hit the 25 minute mark, and it was just a matter of the other team having an extra pro to defend the money ball.
4v5s are very rough, the only time I've won one is when there was someone on the enemy team that goes something silly like 0 kills 20 death, because at that point they are actually more of a detriment than missing a player.
But assuming that every on the enemy team is at least semi-competent it's very rough. They have a leg up for every anni fight, they can push lanes faster than you can, etc.
I have had games where it was a 4v5 for the first 4-5 minutes or so and then the our fifth player showed up (they said their comp hard locked when the game launched). And we turned that around right quick. I think the enemy team had started playing a little sloppy being up a man and just weren't ready for the odds to be evened somewhat.
I will agree that, in many cases, Bacon is not the way to go. I think Tier 3 is when gains in the primary stat stop and after it's just secondary stats.

I got two invites when I was first invited and that's it.
though it seems that since then everybody who gets in via the website also gets two
Huh. Now I feel silly for not thinking of this.

Oh ho ho, LUCKY MAN!
Conversely, RUN CHICKEY RUN!
I was gonna say. A lot of Mickey's lines are damn old.
Well, we assume that's what it means, right? Have they actually said they're recording all new lines for Micky?
And speaking of Micky, does anyone hear a lot less of him lately throughout the game? It seems there are less random comments, which makes me sad.
Well Cantido, you got matched up against 5 of us in vent. It was still a good match though.
I couldn't believe how much money I had by the end there.
I love Tank.
(as much as Wascot? Who knows!)
Is Micky's VA still with the company?

However, he apparently enjoys the role, and many of his lines are actually adlibbed stuff from his standup.

Yesterday was pretty fun with PAers. We went on a few game winning streak, even won a 4v5!
have you checked your email lately?

Edit: Nevermind i sent you a request back.
Those were some fun games. The 4v5 went pretty well because their assassin was pretty garbage so it was almost like a 4v4 with extra money for us.
