It looks like a thing where you would have to put up with a whole lot, mechanics-wise, to get at the fun stuff.

ARMA 2 being a hardcore military sim. I can't really articulate the things about it that make it less than fun to play. Just the way you interface with the game is odd, in order to make it more sim-y.

That, and the fact that it is a super early and buggy alpha make it seem not worth diving into, at this point.

Unless you really, really like zombies I guess.

I do like the idea of it though. Massive open world and all.

Ignore this man and play it.
ok, i'll go look for $30 worth of couch change

i saw the giant bomb quick look, i'm not sure this game is for me.

Here's a good look at DayZ, it gives a better idea of the actual gameplay. It's what made me want it, but I don't own Arma II Combined Operations, which you need. I played Arma II free and it was nothing like that, so the mod looks to be a bit divested from the main game.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRpPIyJDSEQ

The fact that you can only voice chat with those within a certain radius, and the voices getting quieter the farther away you are was a really nice touch that adds a lot, I think.

These guys have a lot of mods they use for "realism"

The voicechat thing is one of them.

Damn now I really want to buy Arma II just for that mod.

The voicechat thing was one of my favourite touches too, the game wouldn't be nearly as cool without it.

Pretty sure that's already standard in the game.

So I just got to the part of Bastion where
    The Ura attack the bastion.

How close am I to the end?

Also I am pretty good with the Dueling pistols.

I don't think so. A lot of people were playing for the TF hat, and as things were winding down SC2 came out and killed it completely.

It's a shame, I would pay cash dollars for some more campaigns.

I don't know where else I can talk about this, but I've been thinking about getting BF3 for the PC.

Is it worth it? I know there's DLC dropping soon, so there are definitely people playing it, but anyone from SE++ still on it?

Hello, yes, I just got it recently and play from time to time.

Friends to play with would really push me to play more, rather than pub squads all the time.

Goodness, I finally been devoting some time to Batman: AC. Holy shit is this game good, and it is fucking flat out gorgeous. I upgraded my rig a couple weeks ago and jacked up the graphics...seriously look at this shit.

If you click on them after following the link, I believe it gives you a bigger version.

The combat while similar to Arkham Asylum, feels much harder and you definitely need to make use of your gadgets when fighting more than three people. I was terrible at it at first, spending about twenty minutes on some of the earlier fights. Now I am getting the hang of it and I was TWO hits away from a 40 hit combo last night, so goddamn close.

I had to disable tesselation because that caused me some awful slowdown when indoor areas first loaded, but yeah AC is a pretty pretty game

Well pretty seems the wrong word for the aesthetic. Let's go with impressive, then!
