my cousin ended up losing her job on maternity leave when the company she worked for found someone to fill her position and conveniently forgot to tell her until she went back

Hullis you worry about internet awkwardness because you're a part of a real community, even if it is electronically based. A majority of the people here know each other/have met, and the relationships here are important.
We are pretty much past the time of things on the internet not really being of any consequence. You worry because it matters, that isn't weird.
i worry about internet awkwardness more than real-life awkwardness what is that
Hey, I do the same thing.
Every single time I've ever been invited to meet up with forumers from here or a couple of other places, I always wuss out right before I leave (or I actually am not able to go but I would have wussed out anyway so I feel relieved).
I really want to meet the people here on the forums and I think it's cool as shit that a lot of y'all know each other, I just can't seem to do it. Meeting people I'm not familiar with, even if I kind of know them from online, is scary.
That and I live hours from anywhere in Texas so I can't just come and chill for a few hours, it has to be at least a day or two trip.
