Akali really hasn't changed much. (Which is why it's hilarious how people think she was just secret OP for ages.)
She was. Her spellvamp made her almost invincible once she got a gunblade built. They just slightly hit it last time, and toned gunblade down too, so it's helped a lot in dealing with her.
I don't waste bans on her though, my targeted bans these days are vayne, Sona, and Shaco. I've started toying around with the idea of banning Soraka and Sona, but doing that means an almost immediate Karthus pick from the enemy. Would love to fuck over the boring bot lane meta though, it's excruciating to play.

Warmog's + Frozen Heart + FoN is 8.7k for an average of 4.8k EHP. It's incredibly cost effective once you have it.
The other thing to consider is that a lot of the 'tanks' have inherent resistance bonuses. Leona, Rammus, Galio, Mordekaiser, Garen & Maokai all help make sure that the overabundance of health from Warmog's is more cost effective by having better values than the standard 70 armour 30 MR.

Woo 12/8/8 Zilean. Ended up losing because they had a much better team comp, and my damage fell off a lot once we got past mid game (only having one damaging ability does that I guess). Also I accidentally sold my Needless Large Rod when I went to sell my ward, and that fucked me up pretty bad.
He's a pretty nifty dude, it's a shame everyone hates him.
Managed to clean up a double kill early against Twitch and Kog'maw which turned into an early Catalyst which turned into an early tower kill which turned into CDR boots and two Rings which turned into 9/3/3 Zilean at 25 minutes.
I think I might have been able to pull a win out if I hadn't fucked up my item build, had farmed more, and hadn't gotten caught out of position at the end. Having a first time jungling Yi, first time Victor, and first time LB didn't help, though.
I'm glad that my 11 year old brother has a better Garen build order than that guy! 3 Doran's blades into infinity edge neal can we be steam friends so I can play dota times with you?
My 2nd attempt at giving away blue at level 1 resulted in our Annie, who may be named, resetting blue and promptly losing it to my autoattack then I found out that Cho'gath had stolen my red and wraiths and so I cleared my jungle at level 2.
On someone like Galio I would prefer the early Catalyst, for the sustain and mana, but on someone like GP or Olaf, I wouldn't even consider Catalyst.

My point was that warmogs, while good, is not good for everyone, becauase not everyone can afford to wait to get the warmogs over intermediate build items which provide other useful bonuses (mana/sutain in the catalyst, CDR in the glacial shroud, gp/5 for the heart of gold), and not everyone can afford to have an item that is only health/health regen. Some characters can and such atmogs is great on them.

Is hextech gunblade a good idea for getting my sustain up on Fizz?
I usually go boots>RoA>Lich Bane> then I was thinking hextech instead of my usual rabadon's because I just seem to have to recall too much when I'm on a roll
If you're playing hybrid then yea its good, but it looks like you're straight AP. Consider building a hextech revolver and go into the Will of the Ancients instead of the gunblade. Its cheaper, has more spell vamp, more AP, and an aura. You lose the awesome active of the gunblade but gain 1525 gold.
Ran across a pub today who was lvl 30 but only had 16 wins. He probably is addicted to Dominion but it's funny to imagine he's just really bad at the game.

Bot games all the way. Dominion counts towards your total win count, if I recall properly.
Man I really enjoy ARAM/ARAB games but it's pretty frustrating when at least half of those games involve trolls. If you manage to actually get into a game without people quitting at champion selection, there's the idiot on either team who will just give up and run around the map cheating. Or 4man premade who joined or formed an ARAB and then ran around trying to cap all the bases before disconnecting.

So that's why she never got banned in high Elo. Or why she only ever got target-banned on occasion against Westrice, the best Akali player in the competitive scene. (Much like how there would be target-bans on Nidalee or Cho'gath against HotshotGG.)

Akali was a super strong last pick against teams that took too many squishies but if a team was too tanky she couldn't do much. That is why you didn't see Akali all the time in high level play.

Brazilians are pretty well-known for being very insular and xenophobic themselves in online communities. In a game like LoL so heavy on communication, putting a language barrier up might not be a bad thing - in the form of giving Brazilian only servers, that is.
Pretty much everyone in this thread can attest to how much of a pain having uncooperative groups on your team can be, and Brazilian premade duos - or all the seeming Korean pairs I get - are very much that.

Barring stealth champions before their own relevant nerfs (I don't feel bad for feeling good that Eve fans cannot play her), Akali has been the single most consistently OP pubstomp champ in LOL since she was released. She's not a problem in games where you hit the 20 minute mark with 2 total deaths on both teams combined, but she was, pre-nerf, completely and totally broken in any high kill count game.
When you can confidently declare victory at 02:20 because Akali came out of a jungle teamfight with 2/0/2, there's a problem. That's a giant advantage in any case, but I wouldn't bet a week's pay on it if it was, say, Singed.
