Lets say I'm terrible at DoTA games. Now, lets say I want the RoI achievement...how would I go about doing it without dealing with the un-relenting asshattery typically associated with these genres? Anyone up for a quick cheevo run for it?
-Pick the tree dude. He has lots of healing spells that can count towards assissts.
-Go PvE. You'll fight against ai chracters instead of nutty RoI players.
-Pray you'll team up with a hero who knows what they're doing.
Skyrim is steamworks right? Was planning on buying it as a christmas present for someone but I'm not sure if they already have it. It isn't on their steam profile so should be fine right?

Correct. Unless they have a retail box they haven't redeemed yet.
So, is Hard Reset good? I think I have only bought Bunch of Heroes (Had it on my wishlist... Turned out to be not very good.). And received several gifts from the Classy folks from here, but now that I think about it, I haven't bought another game.
We still have several days of sales and I'm on a limited budget, currently downloading the demo to see if my laptop can run it decently, so is it worth it?

Hard Reset is awesome. Old school FPS gameplay, cyberpunk dystopian setting, weapon upgrades and stuff, tons of destructible environments (and environmental damage), really good graphics.

It's comparable to a little more grounded Painkiller Black (Or alternatively you can say its a very shiny Serious Sam.)
It doesn't feel nearly as acrobatic as Quake or quite as plodding as Doom. It's definitely an arena circlestrafe/backpedal FPS. If this is your sort of 'thing' one could say it is worth it. Good weapon variety too.
@Krummith is officially a classy gent, with a cybermonocle and everything. I *thought* he was arranging a 4-pack purchase of EYE, then, BAM! Gift copy.
Do I have to do something special in EYE to get the achievement?
Follow the campaign and kill things. You'll see a christmas present drop from something eventually. Pick it up, achievement done. Keep killing things for 6 more hours because hacking peoples brains is fun.

Cool! Now I just hope it runs well on my laptop! Demo is about to finish downloading (I love being home for the holidays, high speed internet, I missed you more than my family.).
Do you have $7.49 worth of words you could type out that would convince someone it's worth it?
You can drop kick a helicopter, assume the form of a Soldier and accuse other soldiers of being the mutant getting them shot up, become an old lady and run up a building with a fat guy then suplex him off the roof into the street, destroy military bases, cause mayhem with a tank, cause major panic and just cause chaos as you see fit.

That... That just about makes it a Must Buy. Wow.
I've heard rumors that it began life as a Venom game, which is totally believable. I had fun with it but it wasn't what I'd call a masterpiece.
Classy gent Wassermelone just gifted me greed corp, not even wanting my offer in return! I'll find a way to repay him during the next steam sale.
In the meantime as per his suggestion I have on offer a copy of Renegade Ops to whomever is the first to PM me here the answer to the following contest:
Name the game this image is from:
(The image name can either help or simply mislead you depending on how you interpret it.)
My offer to give another copy of Renegade Ops to someone who gifts me Plants vs. Zombies still stands.
Do I have to do something special in EYE to get the achievement?
Just keep killing dudes until a present drops (with gift wrap and a bow and everything). It's a random drop.
I appear to be rather unlucky then. I've killed like 100 of these dudes in the forgotten area.
I just loaded up Temple HQ from the main menu and went around with my dual katana charge shotting dudes til some mook behind a counter dropped a present.

Guys....Hard Reset is fantastic stuff. It's just crazy shooting all over the place blowing up robots, and it has a sweet futuristic setting. Go buy it!
I have been granted by the Newell yet another game for my cheevos. Since my backlog is far too large and I am a little too pressed for time, I will gift Drakensang to the first person who messages me.

Coincidence? I think not.

Be awesome playing a neat game?
Harder way - Join a multi game. Most likely they're on a higher level with more mobs. Kill mobs and pick up the present.

I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
1.) Borderlands GOTY is a steal at $7.50

Yep, just add it to your inventory in the mean time.
Add it to your inventory.
Also this thread moves scarily fast.
Plus, it's gorgeous, especially in motion. Seriously. Crank it up to max settings and it looks like electric sex.
If you get ALL GAMES ON STEAM, and start downloading them all at once, they'll come through instantly.
