Got home from work and though, 'Let me knock out some of these christmas gift achievement things'. I load up beat hazzard for the first time since I got it months ago.
FUCK MY EYES!
Needless to say, I did not get said achievement.

I am buying Sequence because I think I can see enough spare change from where I am sitting to buy like 4 copies. It is literally less than a coke around here.

I remember playing the demo of Beat Hazard when it first came out. I liked the concept, but the exploding cornucopia of colors and effects just made my eyes glaze over. Didn't help that I am no great shakes at twin stick shooters (actually come to think of it I'm not sure I had a controller at the time, I may have been using KB+M).
I own the game from getting it in last year's indie pulse pack or whatever, I should probably try it again sometime.

I managed to get 5 minutes in before I had to quit. Even with the effects turned way down the visuals are just way too... hateful and xxxxxtreme.
What is Sequence? It looks like a DDR/RPG Hybird. I mainly want to get it just to knock out the holiday achievement but I would also like to enjoy playing it =p

Assuming you like RPGs and rhythm games, I'm guessing you'll enjoy it. It's pretty good.
Damn, the guy taht won my contest won't pick it up, I looked at his profile and it seemed like it was one of those profiles made for ulterior purposes.
Sequence is a snarky RPG with music mechanics. It manages to balance being too snarky with having an actual story unlike a lot of games though, and by the end, even though it is still ridiculous, mainly just tells its' story rather than cracking too many jokes.
The only problem with it is grindiness, and some pacing. You get to a floor, get some story. Fight ton of enemies, end the floor, story, and repeat. You need certain random drop items to progress (and if you're a completionist there's rare stuff that will drive you mad), and with bad luck this can mean fighting on a floor for a while. And it might even overlevel you so when you do progress things are too easy. However since I beat it, the devs have patched the drop rates so it might not be as big an issue as before.
Good lord this X3 download is taking forever. I started it before I left for work this morning and now it's only up to 11%
It's probably been at 11% for around an hour now, too. Even though it says it's going 2-300 kbps (which is pretty good considering my shitty wifi)
edit: I think I figured it out. Wings of Prey has apparently been secretly running in the background since yesterday, slowing me down. Explains a lot actually. Weird.
I just managed to get the Worms Reloaded achievement on the third tutorial map, by getting caught on the edge of the middle-right mine blast while hugging a wall.
I have three copies remaining of the greatest multiplayer stealth game ever made(and also one of the better single player ones too), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
I am willing to part with them with 1 stipulation: if you receive a copy, we're going to find some time, and we're all going to play the Versus mode, because nostalgia nostalgia lol(and this game is still awesome).
I'm not in the Steam group for some reason or another, but just PM me here AND friend me on Steam and I'll send it over.
DiRT 3 is like one half of a game I could love passionately. The other half seems to have been very carefully aimed at a person who is decidedly not me - I believe the common parlance for the species in question used around these parts, more or less ironically, is "dudebro." I recall several days ago complaining about the standard Codemasters racing game British-accent lady talking to me. I will gladly listen to her all day if I could make the guy who keeps calling me "amigo" shut up forever. I realize that X Games and such is like the only tiny foothold that rally and associated motorsports have in the United States so they pretty much have to try to appeal to that demographic to make the series financially viable so I am trying not to hold it against them too much, but pretty much every second of this game where I'm doing something other than rally is just an ordeal for me.
When I am doing rally, there are moments where I handle a sequence of curves well and the game's scenery is whizzing by looking as undeniably gorgeous as ever and I experience almost pure enjoyment, except for a nagging sense of something almost like a guilty conscience, that I could be enjoying myself more or that I am enjoying myself in a wrong, or base, or somehow lesser way. A corner or two later I will make some inept mistake, and I feel the old compulsions begin to crawl out of dusty nooks and crannies of my psyche, and I want to get my old wheel and pedals out of the closet and set them up and switch to in-cockpit view and turn the realism all the way up and just pour days or weeks or months of my life into this until I once again fall away, a burnt husk, perplexed and disgusted by my own lack of skill and persistence. Then I will once again forswear all but the most arcade-like of racing games, and for an interregnum by resolve will hold, but eventually there will be flirtations, and relapses, and bargaining and self-delusion leading inevitably toward the same repeated result.
@Gaslight you have pretty much listed every reason I don't want to buy dirt 2 or 3, dirt the 1st is bad enough for that crap.. why can't I just have a good rally game? why do I have to race bin wagons? (maybe you guys calle them garbage trucks)

SkutSkut is a better man than me, I only managed 12:30
in all honesty it's been one of my favourite achievements this time

Well worth a buck.
I got up to 28 minutes for whatever reason, I must hate myself.
I got up to 09:20 three times before saying fuck it, and using shenanigans.

Beat the mission on "Very Hard" with at least a B rank, you say? How about a Triple-S rating?! Yeah? That's gotta be worth something.
ACHIEVEMENT GET!
I can vouch for @Lord_Snot he was pretty upset, as I would have been!
Sequence is a fun music rhythm game, with pretty good tunes to boot.
I will laugh if you do win the first prize and then have to organize your library filled with nancy drew games and 20 versions of bejewled. :P

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better

I feel the same. Especially when all the discs for those games are sitting at my feet.

Yes. Lol. I made that same mistake.
it's only for the awesome
Mhm.
Edit- beat.
Looks like an expansion pack that cost the same as the main game too.
