Republic was killing in sub-50 WarZones today. Just ROFLstomping the Empire. I felt kind of bad on some of them, because it was just pathetic. In one Civil War, we had 3 healers, counting myself, and 1 DPS at the mid and took out the entire Empire team without losing a single person. I personally destroyed every door, deployed the bridge, lowered the force field and took the datacore in Void Star and they never even made it past the first door.
My server has started kill swapping on Illum. I weep...everyone seems to believe it's the fast road to Battlemaster, but they don't consider it's just as fast for the other team as well. This goosery will continue until everyone is fully geared out in BM gear. If I were less of a coward I would "break up" the party by sweeping by and nuking them to kingdom come. Sadly, my guild would just become pariahs on the server. Does griefing exploiters violate Bioware's EULA?

How do you intend to "Grief" them? Unless you are clearly exploiting then you won't get in trouble.
And Bioware doesn't consider Kill Trading and Exploit, and will not do anything direct about it. Maybe they might fix the /stuck exploit. Maybe they will fix the Diminishing Returns on Valor. But they don't care if people take turns killing eachother if thats what they want to do.
We hadn't given it a whole lot of thought to be honest. Probably abuse the diminishing returns timer and/or just sweeping by every once in a while and nuking the enemy pack, preferably just after they nuked our guys. I'm not very good at thinking of these things, so that's my excuse And using /stuck like that is clearly exploitative.
As to your other comment about Bioware not caring, as a large corporate entity you might be correct, but I'm pretty sure the guys who've sunk the last 7+ years of their lives into this game aren't too thrilled to see their creation get abused by simple cooperation. I think it's slightly ironic after all the complaining in WoW about how the factions aren't really antagonistic towards each other anymore that the player base in this game goes out of their way to play cooperatively. Path of least resistance and all that, I get it, but I don't have to like it.
Am I the only one that feels that Bioware drew inspiration from the keyboard cat when animating characters interacting with the terminals/turrets in PVP?
I believe a German CSR responded and said that the Developers do not consider Kill Trading to be explotative, and that if the players want to just kill eachother back and forth then thats cool. It's kind of strange for me to think this, but I don't think the Developers really know the consequences of this. Consequences that I think are obvious, but I guess it doesn't dawn on other people until they experience it first hand. And even then, a good majority of people probably still won't realize what happened.
I believe that a large portion of the people that are participating in kill trading to hit Battlemaster will not be playing the game, or at least PvPing in a week to a month. Their interest is in achieving Rank 60 and getting Battlemaster Gear. Battlemaster gear is the top tier for PvP, and once they have it they are done with the PvP Grind. So they do some warzones for a bit, but they are no longer gaining any meaningful progress. They still win some, they still lose some. But there is no more excitement in getting a new piece of gear, and no illusion that that piece of gear will make their chances to win better. So then they get bored and quit the game.
They were never interested in PvP to begin with. All they wanted was that title and the gear. To have the best quality items.

I'd imagine many are after the gear actually and once they can access that will be more then happy to slap the less well geared around in PvP for ages to come.
I remember when top WoW raiding guilds used their PvE gear to roll people in battlegrounds for fun. Seeing a Warrior, Shaman, or Paladin coming for you with the Hand of Ragnaros (or a High Warlord) was incredibly frightening.

It's silly to assume people won't take the fastest route to the best gear and then use that gear to smack the shit out of everyone else.

Oh yea, definately. But the key here is I said they won't be playing in a week to a month. Sure there will be some people that will continue to PvP all day erryday, but the vast majority of the kill traders will not be.
Think about every video game you ever used a cheat code in. Hell, even in Skyrim I leveled Blacksmithing first even before I knew how broken it was. Then I found out how to make uber items with enchanting and blacksmithing, so I powerleveled enchanting. I didn't use any cheat codes. But in 16 hours I had the best possible Items I could ever get, and I proceeded to one shot every thing in the game on the hardest difficulty(nightmare?). Not even Ancient Dragons or even fucking dragons that had unique names could stand against me. I fucking 2 Shot an Ancient Dragon on the hardest difficulty after getting him to land with Dragon Rend, 2 SHOT! The game went from ridiculously hard (LOL ELECTROMANCER KILLS YOU IN 1 HIT) to the easiest fucking thing ever. And I didn't even want to finish the game, because there was nothing really left for me to do. Contrast that with my friend who didn't level blacksmithing and enchanting, and he played that game for almost 300 hours because it was challenging and interesting. It ruined the game for me, and I know of plenty other people that had the exact same experience as me.
Of course there are some asperger type people that will gladly 2 shot dragon after dragon for days on end, and therefore there will be some kill traders that continue to PvP for months on end. But the vast majority of normal people participating in this, for various reasons like their impatience for doing the daily/weekly or getting burned by the RNG bags, will not be interested in PvPing after getting their battlemaster gear.
I have many stories like these, and yes you can say they are anecdotal but it is what has shaped my views. Like how Asheron's Call Darktide server for the first year was the best time to be a pvper, but then KoC members discovered XP Chains coupled with Decal and Macroing and people using Gear and the game promptly died after that. You couldn't compete if you weren't in an XP Chain and macroing. But then you weren't playing the game anymore. You'd log on and PK people, but you were no longer fighting over anything really. People had their Macro Spots, and it didn't really matter where they were cause your character would be there 24/7.
These shortcuts shorten the life of the game. And it's fucking sad that Bioware does not see this. I had my gripes with Mythic during DAoC. I saw problems within that game and bailed early on. They fixed it after that first year and a lot of people view it as the best PvP game of all time, and I regret that. So I hope these Mythic PvP Gurus open their eyes and do something. I'm going to hold out for now.
I think you are being naive. Tons of people will happily spend ages and ages griefing or beating up on weaker players or whatever in multiplayer games.
This shit does not get tiring for most people the way it would for a singleplayer game.
Hey, I've seen some Shadows/Assassins getting the 2.5k and 5k healing medals in Warzones in the 10-49 bracket.
The only thing I can find that would make that even possible is a talent that heals us for a % of health when you use Battle Readiness (Shadow). Yet, you don't get that skill till level 50.
How are they getting those medals?! HOW!? 10 medals a match is not enough! I need MORE! MOOOOREEE!!!
Champion Bags now always contain 15 Centurion Commendations AND 7 Champion Commendations. Battlemaster Bags now always contain 15 Champion Commendations. So Centurion gearing up progression for new level 50s is increased significantly and Champion gearing up progression will be steady.
We do still intend on adding more intro level 50 PvP items as well as change how Battlemaster Commendations operate toward the same 'steady' goal. It's just the scope of that change was more than could be done in a weekly patch as it included vendor changes, conversions to existing commendations on players already, etc.
That being said, the current interim 'gearing up' system will change significantly when we introduce Ranked Warzones (aiming for Game Update 1.2). Stay tuned for more details on that.
Nice. They are also reducing the % of getting a Champion Token in Champion bags, so if you get one it's because you are a lucky son of a bitch and the intended way to gear up now is to gain mostly Centurion gear, and slowly get Champion gear. Unless you are a battlemaster, in which you will get Full Champion pretty quick, but still have to rely on the 25% chance of getting the Battlemaster Item you want.

Here's a thing:
This'll probably get nerfed soon, but if you do the process to get the Magenta Saber Crystal, you'll receive the Shock Frozen Water half way through. Using the Shockfrozen Water out of combat while in a WZ will give you the 2.5 and 5k medal.
Shadows / Assassins love it since they can disappear, use the water, and come right back into combat.
This process is fairly quick, starts on Tatooine, and will end in Hoth.

Is it reusable? that seems like an awful lot of work for 2 medals...

Juggs/Guard can just use their 30% more HP for 15 second ability to get this every match. Depending on their max HP they might not get the 5k without enough endurance on their gear... but with the stat boost they should always be getting the 2.5k.

Yes - the Water is reuseable and on a 10 sec. cooldown.
It gives you a buff that keeps you from using it again, but you can just click it off immediately.
I'm, I'm not sure what to say.... Last night, not only did we win the fist 3 warzones I queued into.... But I actually got the Ilum daily completed. OK, it was about 18 from looting chest spawns, but we actually had a half dozen Empire show up to fight with. (I'm apparently on the only Republic heavy server in existence)

Oh, something I just remembered. Last night, during a Civil War match. I don't remember the name, but to that RC sorc that'd been hanging back away from the right (left from your spawn) point, that I DPSed down to mostly dead, then ran up and stockstriked for the finisher: It felt far better than it had any right to.

Pessimist: OMG what are you doing over there! We apparently suck. No point in even trying now we're gonna lose.
Optimist 1: Wow, really?
Optimist 2: Yeah, quit being a wet blanket, we still have plenty of time to take it back.
Optimist 3: You do realize that we are up by 90 points at the moment, right?
*several minutes later, we hold 2 turrets, we are at 160 on our drop ship, Pubs are at 40, not even a 3 cap can save them now*
Optimist 3: Hey, did that pessimist guy leave, or...
Optimist 1: No, he's still here. Just being very quiet.
*3rd turret is tuned Empire*
Optimist 2: I bet he feels quite silly.
Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

Possibly? I wasn't paying much attention to the name at the time, but the <Remarkable Circumference> is pretty hard to miss. Pretty sure it wasn't some overlong name/legacy/title combination at least. It's possible Ekko might have caught the name, he was in the match, though on the other point at the time.

So is there anything I should be using WZ commendations on? I've already got one Championship bag (1-unique), maxed out Merc commendations, bought a PvP weapon and a full set of the level 40 PvP armor, but I'm already back to 1k WZ and 1k Merc. Should I just have hang on tot hem until 50 so I can buy multiple Championship bags immediately?

If you aren't close to 50, buy the speeders.

I'm really disliking PvP so far as an Operative at 50. Yes I'm undoubtedly undergeared compared to many I'm facing, but that isn't what I'm mad about. I feel impotent to control a fight from a skill standpoint. The only thing we had was that 3-sec knockdown deep in Concealment. So yeah, once every 2-3 mins you could totally faceroll 1 person. Yay?
Meanwhile Huttball and Voidstar are all about control and feature environmental deaths. Unfortunately I can't do any of that almost. My 2sec heal barely does 20% of someones healthbar, meanwhile they get hit for 2x as much damage in that time. (And apparently some classes up upwards of 3-4 interrupts) I've got 1 stun on a 45-sec timer. Eviscerate/Headshot don't work in PvP. Frag grenade knockback doesn't work in PvP. I don't have a running boost, leap, or pull ability either. So I get to watch people speed off with the ball in Huttball, knock then stun me into fire/poison, knock me off the bridge to my death on Voidstar etc. I can't do any of that. I get to limp around at base speeds and in group combat I can't even probably keep a snare on them due to the way CC rules work.
It's unbelievable that they would repeat the same mistakes of Rogue pvp in WoW in this game. Asfaras making them a "3min wonder class" that has to "POP ALL THE COOLDOWNS!" to kill someone effectively.

You know you can cloak as soon as your target is dead provided that you don't take damage from anyone else, right? This means that you should only be selecting the targets with the lowest health if they're with a group to maximize your stealth time.
The class has plenty of CC. Flashbang/Sever Tendon/Debilitate are more than enough to get the job done, and at 50 you can make it up the whole Concealment tree and still spec to reduce the cooldown of debilitate. Here's my PVP build.
You get a movement speed buff from debilitate and cloaking screen using that build, and sever tendon immobilizes and slows a single target long enough to essentially give you a relative speed boost (and it has a very short cooldown). I never feel wanting for CC as an operative and frequently top the charts. In my opinion the class feels pretty strong in PVP and this my first MMO in 8 years so it certainly can't be due to any experience advantage that I have over you.
Dropping twelve points in concealment and going up medicine has done wonders for my own enjoyment of pvp as an operative. I don't generally play as a hunter killer, but I can do it just fine if I see the opportunity. Rolling Lacerations from Kolto Probes ticking away makes for a hilarious amount of damage.

I have never ever gotten any healing to count from using last stand (whatever it is called in tor). I don't think healing generally even counts on my Jugg, aside from the warzone medpacs for some reason
I assumed he was talking about using that ability then getting the heal from intervene or unleash, because the hp gain doesnt count as a heal. Thats for sure. I can't see that hitting 5k, but I get the 2.5k medal sometimes.
Got 5 points in a huttball match and was told not to score anymore. I said no, don't be a dick and scored, and got a whisper after. "There is a difference between being a dick and making use of the time you spend in a queue to get the most commendations possible... so YOU are dumb, SUPER SUPER DUMB."
I disagree. I feel like juggling the ball around for 8 minutes to farm the enemy team, completely wasting their time, is an incredibly rude and pointless thing to do. Anyone feel differently? It blows my mind people think that this isn't dickish.

Here's a thing:
Shadows / Assassins love it since they can disappear, use the water, and come right back into combat.
This process is fairly quick, starts on Tatooine, and will end in Hoth.
Is it reusable? that seems like an awful lot of work for 2 medals...
Juggs/Guard can just use their 30% more HP for 15 second ability to get this every match. Depending on their max HP they might not get the 5k without enough endurance on their gear... but with the stat boost they should always be getting the 2.5k.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What is the /stuck exploit?
Its like warping after you die from what I remember people saying... I think groups kill-farming each other use it or something.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes - the Water is reuseable and on a 10 sec. cooldown.
It gives you a buff that keeps you from using it again, but you can just click it off immediately.

*Republic takes a turret from us*
Pessimist: OMG what are you doing over there!
Was it Astarte?

In my opinion the class feels pretty strong in PVP and this my first MMO in 8 years so it certainly can't be due to any experience advantage that I have over you.
really? I find her to be pretty squishy compared to like zyx or cyn
I have never ever gotten any healing to count from using last stand (whatever it is called in tor). I don't think healing generally even counts on my Jugg, aside from the warzone medpacs for some reason
I disagree. I feel like juggling the ball around for 8 minutes to farm the enemy team, completely wasting their time, is an incredibly rude and pointless thing to do. Anyone feel differently? It blows my mind people think that this isn't dickish.
