I think that looks great acumen, assuming they can get some sort of vegetarian friendly option on the menu and keep the price low. Also it may be helpful to ask about any gluten-free options.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I'll make sure I include that on when I meet with them.

The menu looks delightful! Do places usually give a cap for the maximum amount of people they can sit? For example, they can only allow a group with as many as 60 people or something like that?

I'm sticking with 75 people, the same number that we had last year. Once I put the tickets in motion, depending on how well they sell, I'll see about getting more spaces, if need be.

Could you ask them if it would be possible to substitute hot tea/coffee/juice/milk, etc. for the soft drink for people who want a alternative.

The Pasta Primavera is likely intended to be their Vegetarian option. Gluten-free and Vegan options are things that many places still haven't got around to including in their standard group menus, unfortunately, but most places will be able to work something out and I'm sure they'll come up with a solution for acumen101 at his meeting.

This sounds like a great way to meet some fellow PAXers and I'm looking forward to the opportunity!

Agreed on the pasta, that sounds like a very workable veggie option. Thank you so much for organizing - I think the questions other folks have raised cover my concerns.

I missed this last year but was planning on attending this year. Did the 75 spots go fast? Because I'll definitely be a +1 but maybe a +2. Just wandering how fast I'll have to make the choice.

Signups have not started yet. Once everything is set, there will be something like an Eventbrite webpage where you will sign up and pay at the same time.

thanks for all your work, acumen! I really like the idea of a private room so there can be lots of milling around and socializing.

This all sounds really great. I'm excited to see fish and chips as an option. I really like F&C and love to compare different locales and variants. Would sweet tea be an option? I'm a southern girl and I doubt I'll find many places that have any. I know it's a rare find north of the Mason/dickson. :)

Sounds good to me as long as the pasta primevera is vegetarian or another vegetarian option is present.

@acumen101 Good job picking a place that looks like it will have something to keep everyone happy and that should be good for socializing. Private room should especially make it a prime place to meet new people and socialize and sounds like a perfect place for my first Pre-PAX dinner.

I have a question. Me and my friends want to go to us is anyone else planing on walking to the restaurant from the Westin? We would rather not take a cab to save money but we are afraid of getting lost and would prefer to walk in a group. So is anyone planning on walking to this from the Westin and wouldn't mind some extra company?

I may be at the Westin. If I am, I'd love to get lost with a group instead of by myself.

So... Which menue item does everyone think will be the most beneficial for keeping me going during the pub crawl? It just may be the most important decision of pax!

If it is super cold out, you could try taking the #7 bus or the silver line toward south station to shorten you walk, it's only a couple dollars.

I'm thinking roast beef with corn bread may be the ticket!

I would highly suggest taking the T (subway) to Durgin-Park; closest stops there are Aquarium, Government Center, and State. The closest stop at the Westin is the Silver Line. I'm staying at the Westin too and wouldn't mind being your pseudo-Sherpa, but I'm leaving from there early so I can get at the restaurant to make sure everything is ready.

I walked to Dick's last year (which is in the same area) from the westin. It was an easy walk. It will depend on the weather though.

Do we need to mark our dinner choice when we register? Have to make sure I have my husbands choice ready since I will be at work.
