BACK TO GOOD COMICS, my top five would probably be

    1. Batwoman
    2. Animal Man
    3. FF
    4. Daredevil
    5. Batman Incorporated
Very close runner-up: Scott Snyder's Detective Comics

It really was a great year for comics.

My #1 comic of 2011 is definitely Journey Into Mystery. After that, it kinda gets murky. I've read a lot of comics, but I feel like there are comparatively few that made enough of an impression that I actually remember them now. In no particular order:

    - "Wonder Woman" made me care about Wonder Woman. It's not that I didn't like her, I just never cared one way or the other. I'm on-board now, though. I really dig the non-traditional depictions of the Greek gods, too.

    - "OMAC". Holy shit "OMAC". I don't really like Silver Age zaniness (and feel jealous of folks like TLB, who revel in said hijinx), but for whatever reason, "OMAC" really hit the spot. I haven't entirely figured out why yet. I think a part of it is that I have tremendous respect for Kirby, and Giffen is doing a really great job of imitating Kirby's style while still making it his own. I also think that Giffen and DiDio are doing a good job of slowly layering on the story. The fact that each issue's title has the acronym "OMAC" only helps.

    - Everything Hickman's written. I feel like I haven't entirely understood everything, especially "SHIELD", but I've had a good time with it.

    - "Chew", for every reason that Munch has mentioned.

I've also started trade waiting (or digital waiting rather) but here's how I'd rank what I've read so far.

    5. The Flash
    4. Justice League
    3. Action Comics
    2. Animal Man
    1. Batman - The Black Mirror

I just caught up on Uncanny X-Force (which is great!). I have to think about this more but Hellboy is definitely in my top 5.
Also: Batwoman, Animal Man, Swamp Thing

    My five are probably:

    Daredevil
    Huntress
    Batwoman
    Wolverine and the X-Men
and I have no idea for a fifth. Maybe Hickman's FF.

If you haven't read Jason Aaron's Ghost Rider, you are missing out. One issue features Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch teaming up to fight Big Wheel and Trull the Unhuman.

Also there are gun nuns and murder nurses.
