The EYE team seriously needs better translators. And an introduction of sorts. Preferably the former first, since the latter would make no sense without it.
I don't think the dense, kitchen sink background and hammy over the top plot wouldn't really be done any favors if it were given clarity. The mystery that goes with getting dropped into the middle of all this with the crazy Frenglish on top of it all (with a good dose of spoken Moon Language) is part of the fun.
Yes, I agree with this. I think what the game needs is just more love and attention, because there is something unique in there. It would be a pity if it was just left to fade away.
I agree with this a hundred times over. EYE has such a unique sort of feel to it, along with that kitchen sink flavoring of cyberpunk. Just hard for me not to enjoy, even in light of the weird translation and made up moon speak here and there.
As an aside, many thanks to Random35 and PoultryGeist both for their last minute Steam gifts of DNF and Swords and Soldiers HD.

After the first active steam sales (was a cdrom in the autumn thanksgiving), its time to clean up the backlog bit by bit! Got over 10 new games and most of them are top-rated that would prob suck a lot of time out of me.
Would like to thank all the classy gents here again, it was such a joyful engagment with every PA folk. And you guys are so classy that I did not even purchase a single game for myself at all! Hope that you would have a nice time with my gifts too
So I finally finished The Witcher, which (!) I bought before the sale. I'd been nibbling on a PC playthrough of Borderlands and was worried I'd never finish off with Geralt if I didn't leap back in.
Really glad I did. This is an absolutely amazing game, flaws included. Hell, probably due to some of the flaws (it crashed on me 2 or 3 times, that didn't improve the experience a lot). The end is the most bizarre mishmash of interesting ideas and things that are mandatory because oh, hey, guys this is a video game, we have to include certain things.
Maybe this was just the result of my playthrough and others got different final 'gifts' from significant characters, but I was climbing a snowy mountain with a couple of flaming swords on my back (that occasionally brought down lightning) while my mage friend went magic crazy, and I was being confronted with and asked to reassess my moral decisions. That's fucking amazing. The fighting really felt like a game design concession, especially the very last battle, but I was so thrilled by what was happening I didn't care.

Part of me really wants to give it another go to see other story options, but the mechanics are clunky enough (and the plot long enough) that I'll probably wind up googling the alternatives. And I'm primed for more Borderlands, of course.
I also really want to go ahead and uninstall it since my hard drive is pretty much maxed out and I've got a few more games from the sale I want to install. So, questions: If I uninstall through steam, will that kill all my local saves as well? Also, I've heard something about The Witcher 2 having a save game carry over feature, do I need to grab a specific save and tuck it away for this to happen?
ETA: I think my partner's Sims 3 playtime is really misrepresenting some things. 49 hours on The Witcher, people. And one off the backlog!

To enter, PM me how you would design your ultimate dungeon to make sure it is a deathtrap for whatever random adventurer decides to wander in looking for your treasure. I'll let it run until Noon CST tomorrow and may extend it since I know a lot of the regulars here already have DoD.

And the four different hack types sometimes make no sense or don't do anything close to what you would expect from their names! And you can hack something over and over again until it works!
And there's pretty much no stealth!
And you can pretty much store guns and/or katanas on every possible square inch and in every orifice of your body!
It is like playing a Who's the Boss game, but it is the future-past in French-occupied space China, and you are the boss! A cyborg ninja boss!

Most of the games you listed are fairly large time-sinks. Do yourself a favor and in addition to whatever game you decide to go with, install Sequence. It's pretty damn small, so you don't have to worry about HDD space. It's really easy to just pick up for an hour or so and then put it back down (theoretically). So it'd be a nice diversion game to accompany something like Amnesia or CoP. And it's an absolute ton of fun.
Midweek Madness just feels so hollow after the Steam Sale, haha. Especially when it's PAM.
ha! If anyone wants my coupon you could get it for... what a 1.25 I think:) Hell it's actually almost tempting just to get it for that price to stash away to SG or gift at somepoint. Played during the free weekend and while not good it can be entertaining:)

I'm sure the braintrust at Valve have dailies and Midweek Madness carefully crafted between now and the expiration date of the coupons so they can't get completely worked over if folks have a good coupon which would stay on the top of a sale.
