I just found this here overseer UFO for the first time. It looks like it could kick the crap out of me. Would you guys say I should jump it now before it disappears or leave it hanging?

If you ignore it, be prepared to eat panic! You can take it out with a pair of Plasma Ravens easy, Firestorms make it hilarious.

Man I really wonder why they put both British and Scottish flags in the game. Did nobody at Firaxis realise that Scotland is part of Britain? Did they get the British flag confused with the English flag?

OK this game is really fun
Got a badass belgian heavy chick and a sweet israeli sniper wreckin house
I also have a russian support officer who gets gravely wounded in every single fight he's in :P
I think I have the hang of Assaults, Snipers, and heavies (though I tend to lose many of the former, rely too heavily on the second, and still have a few bumps with the third)
but I'm having trouble using supports effectively
like, in theory they should be favorite class
but I've been confused on how to build them
ideally, at end-game I'd be equipping them light plasma rifles and using them to suppress and flank enemies
or provide additional overwatch assistance
but I think I need more advice, especially for early and mid-game

Supports actually have really good aim stats. Once you get Deep Pockets you can slap a SCOPE and regular plasma rifle for 92 aim which is siiick. You don't really need the 102, especially if you have a good cover buster heavy.
If you get a psychic support focus on healing, smoke, psi inspiration, and telekinetic barrier. They don't need to shoot that much.
Early game, I use them as scouts via Sprinter. MOST aliens are really slow, so you can activate, snipe/rocket stuff, and then pull the Support back into cover. Give them grenades for XP building and medkits once you get triple meds.

I am regretting giving my plasma rifle assaults Flush. It sounds useful, but when it forces enemies from half cover into full cover, it is not useful.

Yeah, except for those fucking thin men
goddamn worse than the crhyssalids, in my opinion
I never ended up having a super high-ranking support, so I keep forgetting aboot deep pockets
sprinter seems to have way more utility than their uber overwatch
though, it seems like a good idea to have one guy with it
Are grenades worth keeping equipped, later, for destroying cover or making holes?

makes sense, thanks
Apparently I'm a trigger happy sniper on my best friend's game and the game nicknamed me "Nightmare".
Teching up early is great, but if my funding drops early on then I can't build shit
Definitely confident in my ability to take the base with basic armor and bullets, as long as I have the squad size and troop experience

Sure can. I don't think you can use a blank space for the first name though (which some people seem to be doing in the PC version?).

There's a few things to do after boarding it!

It turns out that cyberdisks know the value of destroying cover with grenades so that their muton buddies can use their plasma rifles.
