It explains everything that has been going on with the game since Karkand came out. The lack of updates on the patch, the lack of info about expansion packs, and the general unresponsiveness from all of the devs. Not even the PR guys knew about this, I bet. That would explain how they have been so very very wrong about so many things, proving they were just making shit up. This patch is probably the last update we are going to see for BF3 until MOH comes out, if ever.

Hooray for sensationalist prophesying that has no basis nor logic.
I don't think that this has any major impact on BF3. It's likely where Demize has gone to work since he handed over the majority of the work as a dev for BF3, but that's unfounded too.
It sounds like DICE doesn't have anything to do with the new MOH. Other than providing support for Danger Close's work with Frostbite, which certainly isn't a big deal.

Danger Close is an EA in-house studio and so is DICE. They are just going to shift people around. DICE has been left with a skeleton crew.
Battlefield 3 is EA's flagship shooter and the only shooter out capable of competing with Call of Duty. It would be incredibly doubtful for them to take resources from BF3 to work on Medal of Honour a game that pretty much failed miserably last time it was released.
I think the reason why patches are "slow" is that they take time and effort to put out. I think DICE likes to check if they put the minus where the minus supposed to be and pluses where the pluses supposed to be. They could just IW the shit out and give the illusion they give a fuck.

I dunno, DICE is kind of known for bugs. I mean sure each patch makes the game less buggy than the one before it, but Im not sure that theyre spending a lot of time sifting through the code to ensure the computer has dotted every i and crossed every t.
Also, Im tired and sort of grumpy and I have to be in class in 25 minutes so...

Man if BC2 is any example, each update broke something that was totally no even connected to fixes. The final update gave the opposite outcome ending to your match. Like if you won it said you lost or vice versa.
I mean they haven't been Skyrim bad but the patches usually have some odd outcome.
True, but the things to be fixed were fixed... mostly. I mean they didn't make the M60 an even more accurate rapid fire sniper rifle that fired faster instead of nerfing.

I can kinda understand not being able to detonate C4 after death. Even without that, Support is like a million times better against tanks than the actual AT class.
I will miss detonating C4-laden jeeps after getting killed out of them and enemies swipe the jeep, though.

I dunno man, that seems a bit of a leap to me. We have no idea how things will be impacted, if at all. To me, this massive upcoming patch is a huge step in the right direction; it's just as easy to say that they took their time collecting data and listening to the community and working on fixes.

I can't believe they're nerfing shotgun damage so much. Nobody was complaining about buckshot or flechette shotguns.
Spread and damage dropoff are getting buffed though, so while they do less raw damage and will be harder to use effectively (particularly the 870), it's not necessarily a nerf.
Holy shit I've got something like 5 days play time and did not know that c4 could be triggered after death
Its a semi recent change, in that they made it happen in the most recent patch.
I too was totally unaware. Support is even my most-played class. I just assumed you couldn't and now I feel like I've missed out.

After-death C4 isn't TOO big a deal anyway. There are those times where I chuck some C4 at a vehicle and get killed before setting it off, but those times are massively outweighed by ramming a jihad jeep into a vehicle without any problems.
Plus, a few blocks of C4 is basically certain death with no chance for recovery, even if it only disables a vehicle (because then it becomes easy pickings). Personally, I don't like that sort of gameplay because I'd rather there be proper recovery options besides "tank explodes, respawn and wait for tank". Well, except for jihad jeeping, because everybody loves that.
I don't think he's saying layoffs, just suggesting that they shifted over a large number of DICE staff to work on Warfighter.
Still, source?
I don't have a source, but you don't have to be in the same country to work on a game for someone. EA in house studios have roving bands of employees that make up the bulk of it's workforce. Studios may double or triple in effective size for a major game and than are moved off to work on the next flavor of the month.

Unless they decided to switch places and have DICE do the single player.

Yeah, thats probably when they'll start working on it.

Man, the C4 change to make it persist after death was BS. It's just too easy.
For Support players' sake, though, I think claymores should persist after death. They should work like mines.

Nothing in my life makes any sense any more and now this....
How can that be true? That_Guy predicted DOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I kid, I kid.
I head a rumor its battlefield 3 :2143.
I heard a rumor that I make up rumors that I want to be true.
I would be absolutely thrilled of my predictions were wrong. The same thing, however happened with MOH and BC2.
very very true.
I'd pay money for a map with drivable miniguns. No actual vehicles. Just a minigun with wheels on it and you ride on top.
