The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It's a new year, people. New Year's Resolutions are in full effect, and the Christmas baking is dwindling into extinction which means NO EXCUSES. GET YOUR ASS OFF THE COUCH YOU NERDS.
In truth, though, everyone's already doing an awesome job, so keep up the good work bros and brodettes! Let's all be sexy for the apocalypse and party off the pounds!
I dunno about you guys, but I am excited for gym times tonight. It's Friday, which means I don't have to worry about the little bro having a homework emergency or related time drains, so I should be able to spend a full hour there this time. Past few days I've only been able to swing 25 minutes or so, so I had to boil it down as much as I could.
The goal today is to walk 3 miles with a 1.5 mile run in the middle. Better make a good playlist before I go, though, yesterday I had it on shuffle and it yielded nothing but low BPM sleepy songs which are basically the worst for running.
One of my resolutions is to get my mile time below 7 minutes again.
And it is crazy warm out for mn winter!
I'm aiming for an 8 minute pace for multiple consecutive miles (up to 4 or 5). That would make me really happy :>
I can definitely get there from a physical standpoint, but any time I notice I'm slightly behind pace I just start SPRINTING to catch up and completely wipe myself out.

I need to stop doing that!
Yeah, it definitely requires a gradual build-up. Once I get to the point where I can actually run consecutive miles (nevermind how fast), then I time myself and try to shave off a little bit of time every time I run after that point. Then, I add a bit more distance. Alternating between adding distance and improving speed keeps it from getting too boring for me.
there is a treadmill downstairs that is for me to use
along with various weightlifting stuff and maybe a bike?
point is i need to get off my lazy ass and use the free gym downstairs. especially want to work on my mile... while it astounds me that i can still run a mile without stopping (i always did sprints in school leave me alone) it's a pretty pitiful pace

I have joined the SE++ fitocracy group. Hopefully turning fitness into a game that gives me XP will make me stick to it.
I already cycle 5 days a week, to work and back, but it's not very far so I need to do more stuff. Going to start going swimming a couple of times a week. Would like to start running again but last time I tried I lasted about 2 weeks before seriously fucking my knees up. Also toying with the idea of lifting some weights but, ha, I am so weak and feeble.
Oh man, I would love to throw swimming into the mix in the near future. I need a good sport bikini, like this one, cos all I have are stupid froofy ones that tie on and would be the worst for doing laps in (or best, depending on who you're asking I guess...).

Everyone's weak and feeble when they start lifting weights. All you need to decide is whether you want to stay that way.

So uh
My pants just barely fit after the holiday season. I also now weigh 175, when I normally clock in at 160.
This will not stand
Operation: Get Fit engage!
Plan: for now make every excuse to go up and down the four flights of stairs at work. Get my bike moved to my apartment and go on weekend bike rides. Eat more healthy. Bring healthy lunches to work instead of going out (even to just subway). Get rid of the holiday candy and cookies.

Plus, you have King Richard. I have been bested, this time.

There's like 15 calories in every bj.
Then again, if you work hard enough at it, you probably work that off, so you break even.
Oh. We're talking about music, not blowjobs. Well. Ok.
I can't exercise without music. It's a travesty to be on a treadmill without an mp3 player
What are you trying to change from, and what kind of efforts are you making to change it? Maybe we can help :>
