I don't know why but I just offered up 27k to the goddess.
I think we all know why.

"Did ya hear the one about the mussel that wanted to purchase Valve? Seems like the bivalve had a juicy offer on the table but the company flat-out refused and decided to immediately clam up!"
I don't have a problem with the style of the Thanatos videos, because I like 3D stuff and all, but what bugs me about it is just how poor the animation is. PRESUMABLY the animation in the game itself was all done in-house at Project Sora (somebody check the credits and see?), and it looks excellent. Like, amazing. Thanatos Rising, done by a professional animation studio, doesn't even come close.
I was under the impression that Thanatos Rising used the same assets as the games. Pit even had that lower-polygon-count look to him versus, say, the TV commercials.
As for the dual-sticks thing, the one thing I'm not sure would work is the camera control, since it relies on that sort of "globe-spinning" style.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
So I somehow ordered this game. Dunno how it happened, I may've been hit by a hype train of some sort.
Well, I really dislike using a stylus, I grip too hard and end up ripping up screens something fierce, something I found out with Feel the Magic (my very first DS game<3<3)all these years ago, and it has been reinforced several times since. Example: I sucked at, but loved Metroid Prime: Hunters, whereas my DS Phat hated it. If it comes down to it, I'll use the damnable touch-stick, but what I really want to know is this: Will I still have fun with this game using the face buttons to aim? My wrists are bad enough as-is, and I'd like to use the 3D effect if at all possible, so I dislike the 'hold with one hand' idea about as much as I dislike the 'turn the 3D off' idea.
Regardless of the response, I shall make the best of my new game and I hope to lose to many of you fine folks in multiplayer.
Don't offer anything to the goddess unless you can offer a whole lot. People are saying they've offered 100,000 and still have nothing to show for it. There are rumors that you unlock items that start being sold in the shop at 500,000 or 1 million...but then, of course those rumors would exist. I would wait for more confirmation on that point.
Cheap orbiters with a good added status effect on charge shot are my goto LvD weapons. Just follow around your teammates and gang up on them. Hopefully they have good close range weapons and you can just harass, but a good orbiter is even a decent companion to a bow or cannon user if you can concentrate fire and lock the enemy down.
I did finally lose last night for the first time. Even worse I was the angel and basically got "ringed out".
Basically, it is always predictable what weapon you will get as a result of fusing two weapons together. This is an attempt at cataloging all 10,000 or so fusions.

Interesting idea. Let's see if it works. It may not be a bad idea to give a few examples and get things started on your own though. So people have an idea of how the formatting should be.

Holy shit, that list really allows you to see how many weapons there are in this game. So awesome. I'll drop in some contributions next time I go on a Fusion spree.

The Polygon, Wireframe and Alloy fighters in Smash Bros are Aurum-created copies of the characters. Bam.

Facebook needs its own app for this game.
It would be better built than Nintendo's online services.
I am officially no longer playing this game without the stand. My hands just start killing me after about five minutes. I don't know if I'm holding the system wrong, too tightly, or if it is just indeed awkward to use. With the stand though, it seems much easier to deal with.

How's this game for lefties? I just picked it up for $30 at best buy, but I have to wait until the 3DS returns from repairs for 2nd time. I just read the back that they say circle pad pro for lefties?

I am not a lefty so I can't comment on how well the stuff works, but out-of-the-box it does allow you to map the buttons to movement for lefties. And yeah, apparently circle pad pro works for lefties as well. So it seems pretty lefty-friendly.

Thanks, without a way to test it I wasn't sure. Reading the box made it sound like I had to own the circle pad to play it.

The control options are pretty exhaustive. It lets you choose how to control pit (you can choose the Circle Pad or the face buttons), how to aim (Circle Pad, d-pad, or face buttons) and then you can map the remaining actions to the remaining buttons or directions on the d-pad.
If you're using the Circle Pad to move, you can also hold R (or the "Align Camera" key that you've chosen) to move the reticle with the Circle Pad, but it doesn't stop Pit from moving, so it's tough to use.

Holy cow the AR cards are going for crazy prices on eBay. Seperate auctions for Dark Pit, Twinbellows, and Pit+Palutena total around $30. Pit and Palutena are included with every single copy, and it's possible for Dark Pit and Twinbellows to come in the same pack too. If I sold my cards I could make a profit, because I only ended up paying $25 for my game.
I think Nintendo has significantly underestimated the demand for these things.
Edit: $62 for an open 10-card pack from Wondercon.

It baffles me that they refuse to sell the cards in stores. These things gotta be at least *fairly* cheap to print. Even if they weren't crazy successful you would still probably make a decent profit. I mean, they did the Pokemon CCG - they should already know this.
Edit: Oh God, a thought occurs - Pokemon CCG AR cards - you line them up together and watch them fight each other on the 3DS according to the CCG rules. They would make billions....
I've got an Angel Bow that's 2 star ranged, 1 star melee, with shot homing +3 and a bunch of random minor mods, value 233. Angel Bow already has the best homing of any weapon I've seen, so it's cool to have homing +3 on it, but it's not too powerful.
I've also got a Royal Blade with nothing at all but 6(!) melee stars and melee dash attack +4, value 195. I didn't intentionally make it, but I saw the fushion possible and had to go for that synergy. But I am terrible at melee.

You should fuse that sword with stuff until you get a claw.
You know how sometimes you just plain can't fuse two weapons together, it shows an X and a question mark? Eventually you will be able to fuse all of those. The reason you can't right now is because they are weapons that would be spoilers for things later in the game, weapons named after bosses, etc. And/or secret things.
If you would like a hint about the secret things, a very minor spoiler that gives away very little:
Search every even-numbered chapter very carefully. Well, except for one:
Chapter 22 doesn't have one of these secrets. The one that would've been there is in chapter 23 instead.
If you would like to straight up know what I'm talking about:
They are nine zodiac weapons and three zodiac items. Once you find the weapons you unlock them for fusion. When you find the items you unlock the ability to find more of them in different shapes etc.

So UncleSporky, that's a damn fine idea to crowd source all the mix'n'make weapons. I'll just go down my list of a random weapon per day and get all the combinations that I've got. Just did Needle Palm, and I'll pick something else tomorrow.
Any ways, I spent 2.5 hours playing Light vs Dark yesterday, and I think I'm addicted to claws. So dang hard to get in close against some weapons, but once you do it's usually game over for them. I've also found that I do horribly with cannons and clubs. But other people I find do swimmingly with them.
Obviously they're cheap to print or they wouldn't be giving them away for free.
Edit: Anybody want to trade some cards with me?
Yeah... I probably haven't helped since I've been buying cards on eBay too. Anyways, because of this, I have quite a few duplicates that I would be willing to trade, but they're not exactly in hand yet.

I can do it right now, I can make Artillery Claws...but they lose half a heart, and gain Evasion +1 (another pretty nice skill). I'd go for it but I don't know whether I like Artillery Claws yet. I'll try to get ahold of another one to play with it first, or wait for other claw fusions.

Considering all of them are fun (like, you know, the entirety of the cast), I'm not seeing how this is a bad thing.
