Yeah but then you're stuck there talking for the most part. You should try lining up an activity to accompany that very ordinary thing, like busking with a banjo even if you don't know how to play.

The last thing I want to do is talk to the person I'm on a date with!

It sounds silly but it's true. Actually the last thing you want to do is something that you've done with everyone else. People imprint on things that are unique and extraordinary. Hence why first impressions are so important. Someone asking you for the time will fade into oblivion where as someone asking your opinion on something out of the ordinary will stick.

my mom bought these tea biscuits

    they're like, bland cookies

    kind of sweet and lemony?

but they are SO GOOD when you dip them in coffee and they get all soft and when you put them in your mouth they just straight dissolve and it's so good because the end you were holding didn't get wet, so it's still crunchy and you've got all these textures going on and damn it's good

You know how you make an impression on someone?
    By being awesome.
If you can't be awesome during something as simple as drinking tea and eating cake then you will definitely not be awesome during something like speedboating.

They're so easy to bake, too! I like to make cherry scones.

Maybe its a cultural thing, Meiz? At least, over here, a first date is nearly always a drink somewhere. Who knows!

I made tiramisu for xmas dessert, mainly for my sister and nephews. Turned out delicious. I did the ladyfingers by scratch too, and they turned out weird looking but okay.

Not nearly as difficult as it is portrayed to be.

Well my Saturday girl at Christmas won me over completely by just making tea appear when I came into the shop. I knew she was a good one from that moment onwards. I miss my little tea-making pal.

    I don't think so.
We just parted ways over a lot of arguments.
It's actually pretty sad that every time I drink tea or eat cake I am reminded of it.

Liiya's presence turns even the craziest German into a proper English gentleman.

You should be a tea therapist Liiya! Just sitting there, having a nice cup of tea, some cake, charging 200$ an hour.

I have a beautiful glass teapot specifically for blossoming tea, but I have not had a real opportunity to break it out in a while!

Even my regular teapot does not see much use, as most of the time it's just me having tea and it's easier to use tea-bags (I know, I know) or pour through an individual strainer (I don't like my tea too strong anyway, regardless of what it is).

There are a lot of teas I have to be careful with right now, but Mori's mother got me a ginger tea that also has a touch of mint, chamomile and some other spice or herb in it that is far, far, far more delicious than you'd think it had any right to be.

Also not a fan of cake, but where's my tiffin?!

No, it's just a something I noticed thing. I'm a white Canadian suburbanite. You can't get more plain then that. I mean, what did the last person who asked you for the time look like? I've never had a simple coffee or drinking date develop into something interesting. It's usually when I'm being random and staying away from topics people use day to day.

I have one too! As a simpleton, it pleases me to watch the water change colour.

I meant cultural as in European. Or maybe its just a "different folks like different things", thing! I'm sure both would be nice!

Actually I ought to make my own. Sounds simple enough. Except glace cherries are pretty hard to find here!

We used it once and it was neat to watch, however I didn't care for the tea.

Amusingly, I managed to brew an entire "bulb" in a mug, once, before she showed me that you put those in the clear teapot.
