What's a good image size to start with before the webmaster shrinks the image down? I feel so constrained when trying to work with his measurements of 900p x 700p.

Ok, first you shouldn't peddle your webcomic until you have enough of an archive to interest people. For a story based webcomic, that's about 10 to 15 pages minimum.
Second, posting just a link here is very very bad. Post your comics, and maybe have your link in your signature. What you've done here is site whore and that's against the rules! >:(
Third, bigger is better, at the highest resolution possible. A lot of folks work at 300 or 600 dpi with inches of space for their initial drawing before shrinking it down for publication.
Edit: Fourth, don't ask for donations when you just start out I mean come on that's tacky.
My apologies!! I didn't mean to site whore I'll take down that post. Thanks for your feedback, Enc!
Edit: Fixed. Leaving forums with my tail between my legs.

You don't need to leave the forums at all!
Feel free to post some pages here in the forum, as image links so we don't have to click your website and be lured in by requests for donations
Since posting sites leads to many people just coming here to sitewhore. Post some images in here and we'll gladly take a look!

Links are bad, but 10-15 pages is a lot. Sure it helps for critiquing, but a couple of pages is fine in my book.
