Man, people go for the huge make outs in the one-act productions.

What'll be weird is that the actress for the leading girl's role has never kissed anyone before so...that might get a little awkward for them.

I did sound work on Stop Kiss, a play about two lesbians who have to live through a hate bashing. The play involved stripping and making-out.

The year before that my college did a lesbian adaptation on Romeo & Juliet.

What I am getting at is my school was really into girls getting it on.

Haha we'd never get anywhere near trying that down here, but it'd be hilarious.

I'm planning on doing theatre work in college. It'll be interesting trying to get into the tech side of it since I won't be majoring and I don't know if I'll be minoring in it (will probably try to at least).

I need to get a portfolio of all of my designs and shit done though so I'll have that this next year. Will probably end up doing that around spring break when I'm less busy.

I was hardly in the theater program as it was, I started as a minor but had to drop it. Thankfully I was in the improv troupe for four years, leading it in my final year, so the department was pretty open to me.

So, just hammer your way in. Fight off any resistance and break through!!!

I am auditioning soon for A Man For All Seasons in the most hoity toighty am dram group I could find since I moved back to Bristol. They seem a demanding reputable group, which is what I think I need having not been on stage for about three years, now.

I'm shooting straight for the Common Man or Richard Rich, being of approriate age. Also because John Hurt was him in the Film adaptation, swooooon.

I really love and hate college theater kids.

But for all their flaws I would always take them over college music students.

Yup. Hated the music kids at my college. They weren't awful to me or anything (because, realistically speaking, they couldn't be if they wanted the sound to work during big concerts), but my GOD did they ever suck up a ridiculous amount of the school's budget in comparison to other Arts programs.

Theater students are bad but I have always felt that came from insecurities and such. They are in a major where, while they can be friends with classmates, they are in constant competition with them for 4+ years.

Music students though? Just huge douchebags.

Yup. And at my university, they all had massive superiority complexes as well.

"Oh hey, did you guys see the two million dollar, room-filling pipe organ we have in the main concert hall? It takes up an entire wall. Shit's pretty great."

"So wait, you guys don't have state-of-the-art facilities in which to rehearse, teach, learn, and perform? Gee, that's too bad."

    Or my favorite:

"A group of our wealthy alums are going to match dollar for dollar every donation we get this year, all because we put their name on a cheap piece of polished steel in a hallway somewhere in some forgotten part music building. Isn't that cool?"

the music kids and the theatre kids at my school are mostly great!

if any major is, in general, terrible, it's the chemistry/bio kids

anime nerds, loudly talking about fantasy novels in the campus center, etc.

a lot of the writing majors are pretty annoying too. It's pretty much divided into "kids who are interested in experimental fiction or literary fiction" and "kids who are interested in sci-fi/fantasy and didn't research the school well enough"

there's nothing inherently wrong with the kids who want to write sci-fi/fantasy stuff, but a few of them kvetch endlessly about how the school is biased toward experimental fiction and those are the unbearable ones

    yeah, seriously

I actually have a friend who has no compunctions about being in the CC a lot, and doesn't understand why I reject his offer to go get some food and hang out there on a Friday night

he's also almost the only one who still lives on-campus

As a philosophy major, we are pretty terrible in our own right.

Which is funny because a variety of my philosophy professors told us that if we weren't making people angry we were failing as philosophers.
