My friends and I had a helluva time trying a demo of SkywardS at Target. I was sort of turned off by some of the controls. I'm also not into motion games unless they involve dancing.
But the fact it's a Zelda title is what really makes me want to get it.
Trust me when I say that the motion controls feel super wonky at first, but after a while they really are pretty great.
I dunno if I like them 100% in the sword play myself, but I would say that 97% of the time they totally work as intended!
The problem with being married to your work is that when your contract ends and you start looking for new work you become incredibly depressed and ridiculously easy to upset.
Skward Swords motion controls are pretty excellent, and turn even the lowliest of enemies into a puzzle that must be solved, in order to be victorious. I really liked that about it.
For example, there's these spider motherfuckers that seem impervious to damage until you do an uppercut of sorts with your sword, and it flips them over to reveal a soft underbelly. Lots of cool A-HA moments.
I kinda wanna see the end because I've heard it gets really good. I just got burnt out on fighting those fucking goblins all the time, and returning to the same areas over and over.
I'm at the stealthy part where you're captured, and they take all your shit.
Ooof. I went out for a drink or two last night with some friends from work (and here! Nightdragon was there)
I don't drink that much any more so apparently my tolerance has fallen such that three beers got me kind of smashed. To be fair, two of those beers were 10% alc.
But still it was kind of SURPRISE YOU'RE DRUNK. I'm more of a drink socially and don't get more than a bit tipsy kind of guy
Yeah those beers hit me kinda hard too haha...I need to remember to match beers with equal amounts of water

I've never had it. I just remember that when it was OK'd for sale in my state I was working at a convenience store at the time, and my homeless foot traffic increased about ten times over. I'm not sure why it occurred to me that Wasser and ND would drink it, although I suppose it was a good deal at $1 per pint. It's just the only 'beer' I could remember being above 6-8% alcohol.
That scene where you leave your sword behind and your companion's voice fades to nothing. Impa dying, Zelda seemingly giving up her love of flight, and just the general sense that there were no more adventures to be had.

While Fi going to rest for eternity was kind of sad, at least she had a good time before it was over. Impa fulfilled her duty and I doubt she had any regrets come the end. Zelda didn't give up her love of flight, she simply elected to stay on the surface, which is now also accessible to loftwings, and it's implied that Link stays with her, too. As for the adventures thing, that's not true at all. Skyward Sword is the first game in the Zelda timeline, after all, so you know that there's still adventures to be had, and now that Demise is gone they can start to rediscover the wonders of the surface world which is a huge adventure in itself.
I finally saw Secret of Kells. With how everyone here and everywhere talked it up so much I was expecting it to be better than it was, but it was pretty good.
Since when did you make a real website for your wonderful art?
And do you still live in MA? Your resume says so.
/stalkstalk
Since 2006?
And I moved back to California back in September for a new job, I haven't updated my resume in awhile. But you already knew that, since you sent the Halloween cards to my current address, remember?

I agree with this notion.
Also I'm watching New Police Story at the moment, and I don't get it. Who gets Jackie Chan to star in their movie, then decide to give it a fairly grim tone and make Jackie Chan play a fairly humorless, tortured soul?
EDIT: Alright finally, like an hour in there's finally a decent fight.
EDIT2: Hong Kong movies really either need to up their CG budgets/talent, or stop using CG entirely. I don't think I've seen a HK movie yet where the CG strayed above SyFy Original Movie quality. (sub edit3: well, I guess this did come out in 2004, so maybe things have improved since then.)
Hahaha, this is awesome (and now I don't have to ever try to track down and read all the comics related to this to find out what the hell the deal with all this was):
Bacon, in your portfolio, what exactly is the difference between a drawing and a painting? (eg. why is noheart a painting and swordguard's a drawing?).
I had a great weekend with my not-girlfriend from Richmond, VA! How was your weekend AC?
Also I found out that Blu-Rays can be locked out for rental or whatever, so you can't view special features unless you buy a retail copy. wtfffff
I just wanted to watch the Bridesmaids gagreel!

That's retarded. The worst I've seen is the ones with unskippable trailers... which wouldn't be such a big deal but I bought one of them when the local rental closed down. And it is one of my favorite movies
For those wondering I got all the necessary equipment to play my vinyls, all through borrowed equipment too. Found out my mom had a Led Zep album and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back soundtrack on vinyl. Yessssssss
Also I purchased Double Nickels on the Dime, the one album I've been telling myself I'd buy for years, and always forgot about. Stumbled upon the vinyl at my local shop and viola, it is magical.
Tell me more about this not-girlfriend situation. I'm currently neck-deep in "its complicated" and not-girlfriend sounds like the best description of that sort of thing I've ever heard.

Nevermind...I guess I can just put a genre in.

Maybe someday I'll get back into it!

Antoine Dufour!!
What were you drinking that was 10%?
Four Loko?

That sounds tasty! I wonder if it's as good as this Four Loko beer I've been hearing about.
The last time I drank that stuff I swear it made me time travel.
What, Skyward Sword?
How do you mean?
It's like Mondrian on Ritalin.
DC Comics' new logo is pretty shit as well.

I assume it's what you get when the CEO of a company has a kid with graphic design aspirations and a copy of GIMP.

I don't know if Pandora has 'em, but i like the California Guitar Trio. Excellent covers & classical numbers as well.

Wow, that would be a great logo if you were one of those corporations where no one is exactly sure what you do.
