Bacon, in your portfolio, what exactly is the difference between a drawing and a painting? (eg. why is noheart a painting and swordguard's a drawing?).
At some point there was a meaningful distinction between a "painting" and a "colored drawing" that got lost along the way. Next time I update the site I'm probably going to fold those into a single "2D" category.
EDIT: Not letting this get BOTP'd and ignored because it's too awesome...or at least it was last night when I was kinda tired and watched it through all the way 3 times.
Just got back from a friend's house who had the game on. Had some good chili and some home made beer there. The game was good. Half time show was probably the best in years. Some of the adverts were great and some were lackluster. All in all, not a bad night.
That scene where you leave your sword behind and your companion's voice fades to nothing. Impa dying, Zelda seemingly giving up her love of flight, and just the general sense that there were no more adventures to be had.
While Fi going to rest for eternity was kind of sad, at least she had a good time before it was over. Impa fulfilled her duty and I doubt she had any regrets come the end. Zelda didn't give up her love of flight, she simply elected to stay on the surface, which is now also accessible to loftwings, and it's implied that Link stays with her, too. As for the adventures thing, that's not true at all. Skyward Sword is the first game in the Zelda timeline, after all, so you know that there's still adventures to be had, and now that Demise is gone they can start to rediscover the wonders of the surface world which is a huge adventure in itself.
So cheer up!
Well, I guess.
But the Links and Zeldas of the future are reincarnations of Link and Zelda, aren't they? Or something like that. Most of the games are hundreds of years apart, I thought. Fi going to sleep almost made me cry. Impa choosing to essentially sacrifice her life for the sake of her duty is pretty sad no matter which way you slice it.
Also, demise resembles Ganondorf on purpose, right? His "curse" is dude's continued harassment in all the rest of the games? Man, if only he knew. He'd be pissed.

EDIT2: Apparently all the people in GV hate this, which I think makes me enjoy it even more.
the problem with the video is death has ALWAYS been a joke in comics, or perhaps since i was an xmen fan as a young man (read the mid 80s) and jean grey dying was like the changing of the leaves seasonal thing.
I really can't fathom what it's like to have almost an entire country do something as one even a sports event... I've just never experienced it.
world cup?
i experienced it in mexico once, whole towns shut down, only thing comparable ive seen (although i hear cricket in india/england can have this effect too)
DAMN my team lost!!! But unlike a lot of people around here, I wont lose any sleep over it. I had a great night of food/booze/commercials. Halftime show was actually pretty surprisingly awesome. But maybe just because the black eyed peas are fucking terrible by comparison.
I passed a really bad accident on the way home...I think one of the two cars may've been totaled - there were pieces of it all over the highway, and it was sideways, blocking the slow lane. It was part of the highway that was wooded and had no lights, so you didn't even see it until your headlights hit it. I only noticed it because the people ahead of me slowed down almost to a stop to move around it (after going about 70-75 mph).
The other car was pulled over to the side and somebody was inside and had the overhead light on, and there was another car parked ahead of them that I think was just somebody who pulled over for help. If I hadn't seen that other car there, I would've pulled over myself. I honestly don't know if the person driving that other car was okay at all. I felt pretty bad that I probably had nothing that could help them, even if anybody needed help - I have no medical equipment in my car, I don't even have flares. I think the creepiest part about it all was that as I moved around that car, I turned off my radio, rolled down the window, and there was just silence...and that car was pitch-black and broken. I couldn't see anybody inside, but I didn't have time to really look.
Times like that where I wish I had more useful real-world medical skills, rather than just the ability to draw pretty pictures.
My friend and I were the first on the scene to an overturned truck in Florida some years ago. That was fun. Called 911 and everything.
The guy was ok and hadn't hit anyone but I didn't have much sympathy for him. He was hanging upside down, his head amidst his recently empty beer cans and had been obviously driving stone drunk.

My friends and I were at a pizza place a few years back, overlooking a highway. Half-way through dinner there was a huge bang as a car ran in to the diving barrier and completely flipped the car over. We never found out if they were alright.

Basically, yeah. Demise himself is totally 100% dead forever, but his undying hatred lives on as the evil that remains in the world, which makes the existence of Ganondorf and Majora and Bellum and all of the other main antagonists possible. And yeah, Impa giving up her life for her duty is kind of sad, but again, she didn't seem to have any regrets in the end and that's all anyone can really hope for.
And yeah, all of the future Links and Zeldas are more or less reincarnations/descendants of these first two. That's not sad, though. And yeah, I guess they'll be hounded for a while (not forever, though, as even Ganondorf gets permanently obliterated in the end of all three alternate timelines) but I mean obviously they can handle whatever Demise's curse decides to throw at them.

I wish I had read that superman comic just to enjoy that DaRoS movie more.
Kinda like I was glad I watched the Phantom Menace because it let me fully enjoy the Plinkett review.
I didn't watch the super bowl. I decided to drop cable in my new place, didn't get invited to a party, and I spent the time either hanging out with my kids or setting up a PC behind my plasma with downloads of all their favorite shows.

It's not the sleep deprivation Bacon, that was hilarious. I'm coming from a background of not reading mainstream comics though.
By the way I ended up reading through all of Cucumber Quest in one sitting. I need more.
Told you CQ was awesome. :^:

Awww, poor baby. :c
I didn't even know the super bowl was today until just now, reading these posts.

Sweet, I'm not alone then.
This makes me feel slightly less out of touch with the rest of humanity.

I didn't want to be.
Does that count?

No. That means you need to watch some GI Joe PSAs about peer pressure.

But it was in my apartment, hosted by my flatmates.
I ate so much food. Now I kind of hate myself a little.
I don't even watch football. :c
And now because I live in New England I have to deal with a lot of grumpy folks for a while.

Puppies?
Puppies help a bit.
e: Ohhhh my gawwd~!
to have a dog as chillin' as that =D?

Alternatively...
So many legitimate actors, I am extremely surprised by this.
And I'm going to have to draw this again because I messed up the markers a bit too much.
Also big dogs are the bestest.
You shouldn't be. Max Landis also wrote Chronicle and has several other big movies in development. A lot of actors are geeks too.
I made this: http://www.darrencalvert.com/daros1.jpg

Also, I can't imagine that a woman of Lois's size would ever be able to cradle a beefcake like Superman in any fashion.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl at all. I just did drawings at home. Got two comics done in one day!
