You are the second Australian I've heard from who got one today or the other day.
Also the first Australians I've heard who actually got an invite sent to them, rather than getting one of the "Bring two friends along!" passes.
Hopefully they're putting servers up here soon?

    Make that three.

This makes choosing who I give my two invites to marginally easier.

E: I got credited with two invites, for being in the beta for a while I guess.

Sure is a long and thought out policy.

How is your election going Dave?

    Katter's a nutbar.

But our firearm licensing policy and restrictions are ridiculous. The's a bunch of arbitrary and stupid hoops you have to jump through to get a license for any gun, even an air rifle. But a psychological examination? Nope! You can be an utter homicidal maniac, and as long as you're juuuuust stable enough to jump through the afore-mentioned hoops, you can have as many firearms as you want!

If you deal with mental illness and are seeing / have seen someone for it you have to have a mental health professional (maybe two?) sign off on it.
But this is of course only if your crazy is on the books.
E: I'm sketchy on the exact details but know someone whose shrink wouldn't sign off on them getting a gun.

It's going. And it'll be gone in 4 or 5 days which is really all I care about.

I actually heard Anna Bligh say that she has hard things put in front of her time and time again.

    Me and Vivienne giggled.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention about last night is that I found out what chinese restaurant I loved on Grey St (this goes back to a discussion with Pipe a few weeks back).

Bamboo Basket. I had pork cubes in dark soy sauce that were incredible. And they had delicious bok choy. Delicious bok choy.

I don't need to go to a restaurant to eat Chinese.

You may have some success with girls with low self-esteem, but it will also make you a douche.

I think the essence behind it (being confident, approachable etc) is sound. The words and terms and general attitude is kinda silly.

So my grandmother was taken in for some tests after acting pretty weird a couple of days ago. She was very confused.
Turns out she did have a minor stroke. I feel like a bad grandson because I'm not really going to be able to visit her until next Friday.

yeah but then there's the emotional manipulation / blackmail that comes with it, and thats extremely fucked up.

Honestly some of the shit that PUA's will do to get laid stop just short of outright date rape.

it only works on dumb girls and if you only want a one-nighter or a fling; not a lasting or meaningful relationship

so I mean, if that's what you're after, go for it
