My combo is weird, even for Gamma World. I'm not sure how to reconcile those two...

A swarm of Wolf Spiders perhaps? Those things can move at stupidly high speeds and have that basis of Spider-Sense. You can never be surprised with that!

Alternatively, you can swap out your Swarm with the Plastic origin if you are having a hard time with it.

Okay, so Good Omens will be joining us and we may have another player too, making a total of 6 players. Dani will know this additional player, so I am hoping he will give us the kind of crazy, bat-shit humor we can all depend on.

Sheets will be up tonight and maybe first IC post once I work out how to host maps and tokens.

You can do either or both. But I don't use maptools.

I use tokens and I show the grid points since that makes my life I bit easier. However I know Maptools isn't for everyone.

GoodOmens' character is now added to the list. A genetically engineered human speedster! I am going to get your Alpha Mutations up on the sheets for those of you who have the book, please also choose which kind of basic weapon you are using. (IE: Heavy one-hand or two hand, ranged one-hand or two hand. At start, guns are not available options.)

Rule of thumb is thus;

If you are based in either strength or Con, then take heavy weapons. Dex or Int, then take light ones. Dani has already got a shield accounted for in her AC, so you should probably take a heavy one-hander, for instance.

Armor is simple. You either take light or heavy. They both function exactly the same, except one give less ac but allows for dex, where as the other does not. Aesthetically, the type of armor is up to you (it could be a harness of old tires or an odd alien type of silk that deflects bullets - explainable but strange is good way to start. If you take heavy armor however, your speed is reduced by one, which has also been reflected in your sheets.

Technically, yes. However you do not get two attacks per turn. There is no such thing as an off-handed attack though, so you could have a weapon in each hand without penalty as long as it matches the one attack per round bit.

1 hand light melee weapon...after all, everything is heavy enough when it's travelling at relativisitic speeds. I use a screwdriver out of habit due to my days as a lab technician before I became the experiment. I also prefer light armor, which is largely a result of visual distortions caused by rapid changes in motion and vibration; my opponents may think I'm going to zig, but I've already zagged 8 times. I also have a reinforced vest and pants that were used in the Xenopsychology Lab where I used to work.

Going with a modern day cowboy. Light armor made up a leather coat he picked up outside of OK Coral after a few mutated fish tried to drag him under. The mace he stole from a dead man out in the wastes. I'm thinking that will be a two handed melee weapon.

In case I wasn't clear Sal Mander is a cowboy lizard man. Because that idea rocked my world.

You go into Alpha Flux... More on that when it happens In your case I am going to let it slide for your first roll. You are not in combat and it wasn't funny or forwarding for the story. Best to keep plodding on for now.

The main thing I'm fuzzy on is the Alpha Mutations. When can they be used, and what the heck is Overcharge? Sorry, I still don't have access to the rule book at this point.

They are basically changeable and randomly assigned Encounter Powers. You can activate them on your turn and they last as indicated. If you so choose, you can try and over charge them. 10+ and it's a bonus effect under 9 and it's bad. Some backgrounds give you a bonus to overcharge on some types of powers... but you always have a risk of exploding yourself.

Every time you take an extended rest, they are swapped out for another randomly assigned power
