That is horrible Bullio. That is taking waaaay longer than it should be. You can watch a timed comparison between an SSD and a hard drive starting crysis 2 on youtube and even the slower hard drive only takes about 50 seconds. You might want to check Moe's Stupid Technology Tavern for some assistance.
If anyone still has those Amazon $5 off top downloadable games coupons you can pick up Sonic Generations or Shogun 2 for $10 today. Both register on Steam.

I love pinball! I plan on purchasing a table for my mancave once the kids are in college, because they are endless fun. You can never "beat" pinball, only get super high scores. If you don't like pinball, then you probably also hate freedom. A game which combines the fun of pinball and the coolness of Sonic is Sonic Spinball - an underrated niche game from my youth which more people should play. Coincidentally, I am giving away a copy of this game!
Idx, I want this game. How do I win it from you? Simple - Send me a picture of the COOLEST FUCKING PINBALL MACHINE YOU'VE EVER SEEN. If I like your selection the most, you win. The caveat is that if you somehow manage to pick my personal favorite table, you will automatically win. Otherwise, this contest will run until noon central tomorrow.
You must be a regular, active PAer in good standing to be considered for victory in this contest. Any questions? If not, go get 'em!
FYI - final bump before the contest expires at noon central!

so I played the kingdoms of amalur demo on my ps3 and i may buy it but probably on steam... Also I'm back and forth on getting mass effect on PC or ps3. Do we have any idea how that works? Is there just a code on my ea account that the game will find when I register it? Do I have a code I can find and plug into each game when I get them? Does platform matter?

If you're talking about the items you unlock in ME3 by playing the Amalur demo, I think you have to play the demo on the same platform on which you'll be getting ME3. That's what people were saying in the Amalur thread.
@SteevL, that would be awesome indeed. I don't know if they would do it today, though, as it might make the Daily Deal of Dead Island for PS3 or 360 for $25 look bad.
So Gotham City Imposters is up for preorder on some other sites, with a 15 dollar price tag. Not too shabby, was expecting a bit higher.

Not sure I'm digging the price points for SMNC fluff. 600 points for a character skin? That's like seven or eight bucks.
I don't mind dropping some cash on these kind of pay-as-you-go games, but I'm of the mind that $50 or $60 should unlock pretty much everything. It sure doesn't in SMNC. I don't see the reason to price everything so high.

They based their pricing system on LoL. They're almost exactly the same prices, actually. That said, im sure eventually they will have sales on skins/taunts just like LoL does.

That's funny, because "lol" is basically what I would tell any developer who asked me to pay $8 for a character skin.

I guess. But LoL has far, far, far more shit to buy than SMNC.
I'm not quite sure whether that supports or goes against what I'm saying...
Edit: And if they're going to do promos/sales in SMNC, they need to do some in beta. Cause if I drop $50 on this game during beta to grab some shit/support the game, I'll be right pissed if they launch some kind of promo for release and beta players got fuck all.

For the love of god, don't buy anything. It's a beta. I have no doubt they're not going to delete what you buy, but they're just no way those prices will last when this thing goes live.
Is it kosher to trade games here? I typically like to give stuff away, but I'd like to get the Guild Wars trilogy before GW2 comes out and I have some spare games from Christmas sitting in my inventory (Mass Effect, ME2, Torchlight, Fallout 3 and Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY).

Notch is a millionaire on beta sales alone. I don't regret dropping $10 on Minecraft like.. a year ago?

You're probably better off on the Steam forums, to be honest. You'd be hard pressed to find people on here who don't own all those.
Why the fuck do I want to spend money on skins? Hell, if you don't want to buy the skins. Don't! If you do, do! Freaking liberating, if you ask me.
A game that I basically get to play for free. How the fuck is that a bad thing?
Is this in response to... anything? I don't understand what you're referring to.
I want to support the devs. I don't want to do so by paying $8 for one thing. I want to pay $60 for 15 things, instead.
Edit: I'm not against the pay-as-you-go structure. I'm saying they could lower the price of fluff items to encourage purchasing of fluff items. As it is, I'm not buying skins cause they're stupid expensive. If they cut them to 33% of their cost, though, I'd probably buy a whole bunch of em.

Dude, its a game you play for free. You don't have to spend any money on it. You can play the game up until the servers are shut down and never drop a dime on it.
Essentially, there's nothing to complain about.

You don't understand the business model, at all. If everyone had your frame of mind, the game wouldn't exist.
I want to spend money on it. I want to support the people who make the game that provides me with entertainment. You know, how people buy seasons of shows on disc even though they could just PVR it off cable?

Provided your only request is that you be allowed to pay the developers whatever increment of money you deem to represent your support for them, who cares what you get in return? Who cares what the value proposition is in that case?

Well, if you've been following the conversation, you would notice that isn't my only request.
Figgy, I'm sure there will be discounts and/or value packs in the future. To be honest, I think one of the reasons why there aren't any now is because the amount of content is relatively small. Who knows, maybe they will reduce all the prices sometime in the future.

Fair enough. I'd think your best bet would be to talk to the devs about it, especially since they're game's in beta right now. I do find it highly suspect if they're taking real money for points in a beta product right now. Just because I don't think that's being terribly honest about things, not so much that they're going to erase everyone's paid for content or anything.
If I were them I don't know if I'd model heavily off of LoL at this juncture. The thing that LoL has going for it right now is massive popularity combined with evidence of staying power. It's a lot easier to look at purchasing a piece of LoL content as having some initial and lasting value.
Are the SMNC servers hosted centrally, or distributed over people running their own servers? Because I personally would be concerned it'd suffer a dip in popularity after the initial release, much like the original MNC.

20 bucks in LoL gets you basically $27 to spend in their store, so three skins. The prices will likely remain the same.
SMNC's servers are hosted centrally. I don't think it will dip in popularity, because it is a high quality f2p game. Also, it is coming out at a good time, when many gamers are burned out on LoL and are looking for something similar but more different than Dota2. I actually think skins are a better purchase in this game than in LoL, because of the closer up perspective.

And who doesn't want turkey legs?
And is there a faster way to earn pro points? At 125ish points per game, that's a lot of games to buy a 9000 point class.
I 100%'d Sequence last night. Feels good. I almost never cheevo hunt games, but I just couldn't help myself this time. The toughest one was definitely learning Luminary Storm. I was stuck at ~93% Accuracy until I remapped the left and right arrow keys (I had been using them to switch fields). Then I started using both hands for the really difficult sections (made it through the entire beginning section with 100%). Less than 5% of people get the "learn every spell" cheevo, and I'm one of them.
Also, all the AYIM hate from a couple pages back makes me really sad.
Why would they make it easier to get the pros for free? They want you to buy them with cashmoney bros. I tossed 10 bucks into uberpoints and bought a couple characters. Don't know what I'll spent the rest of the money on since any class I want to spend some time with gets locked quickly (Really want to try assault and support some more).
My only problem is that they charge different amounts for pros. Like the Sniper is way more expensive than Cheston. Does that mean he is better? I am told its because he is "more difficult" and it keeps new players from getting him and "feeding" but come on. Seems BS to me. As far as outfits go, I think they are out of my pricerange. I only like a couple of the sets (outlands, heavy metal, and crashtest come to mind).

As much as I wish any indie developer success, I can't get into that game. To me, it feels like a proof of concept. The graphics are lazy as fuck, the audio is terrible, and some of the levels verge too far over to frustrating, as the interface/screen fights against the puzzle mechanic you're supposed to be utilizing.
