I 100%'d Sequence last night. Feels good. I almost never cheevo hunt games, but I just couldn't help myself this time. The toughest one was definitely learning Luminary Storm. I was stuck at ~93% Accuracy until I remapped the left and right arrow keys (I had been using them to switch fields). Then I started using both hands for the really difficult sections (made it through the entire beginning section with 100%). Less than 5% of people get the "learn every spell" cheevo, and I'm one of them.
Also, all the AYIM hate from a couple pages back makes me really sad.
How long did that take you/how long is the game?
According to Steam, I logged 20.4 hrs. I played on Medium difficulty, which for me was just the right amount of challenge. Any more and I don't think I could have kept up. Any less would have been boring.
That's a nice chunk of time for how much that game costs. I'm considering picking it up. Unfortunately, it's the time of the month where I have to choose between buying games and buying groceries. Decisions, decisions.
Maybe this will sway your decision. Most of the music is from Ronald Jenkees. Here he is playing Throwing Fire, Stay Crunchy, and Disorganized Fun (which are just a couple of the songs in the game).
I haven't heard those songs in a long time. Throwing Fire is such a badass song. I'll try to buy this game ASAP as soon as I have some money.
As long as that's not an exclusive publishing deal, that's OK news. If there are exclusive deals, not sure that's good news actually for anyone outside the States.
Origin doesn't add anything new into the mix, and EA has been extremely terrible with regional pricing and a total lack of sales.

It's not exclusive. They're just going to get games that aren't EA anymore into their store.

Yeah EA were lambasting Steam about their "restrictive policies oh woe is us now we have been simply forced unjustly off of Steam" etc. etc., but to be blunt, I'd sooner peg EA as ones for restrictive and anti-competitive terms and conditions.
Wait and see I guess, but the way they handle the whole forum bans thing makes me distinctly uneasy about Origin to begin with. There have literally been people banned for quoting other people. Who had swearwords. In their forum posts. And this ban extends to locking them out of all their EA games.
Any way I look at it that behaviour is utter cow-pies.

Which is just one more reason to never ever take part in official forums and communities. And let's face it, what are you really getting at the official mass effect forum that you can't get better in the thread here, or at SA, or whatever other community you may be a part of that isn't full of 13-year-olds with terrible grammar pretending to 28. Because they are totally 27 years old, dude, why won't you believe them?
EA and Ubisoft are two publishers I'm really uncomfortable with lately. Too much aggressive DRM, preorder "bonus" creep, shitty attitudes towards Steam, etc. Honestly I don't buy almost any games at full price anymore, but I'm especially not going to shell out more than $5 or $10 for games from them.

Titan Quest looks fun. I am a huge Diablo fan, but am getting my Hack 'n Slash fix from the D3 beta right now. Only the second daily all year I've considered buying in 2012.
It seems like 50+ friends have both games being offered. Was it part of a bundle or something?

From Dust Midweek Madness for 5 bucks as well. Doesn't seem like a bad deal even though the PC version got some pretty ugly press.
I haven't tried the console version so I can't directly compare, but I will say it felt like a very lazy port. It's still worth $5, though, in my opinion. Just don't fall for the "spiritual successor to Populus" line of crap; they're similar in tone but From Dust is basically a puzzle game with god-game trappings.

THQ packs, but no real bundles. Just a THQ game, they know how to discount their stuff.

You and me both, brother. Although I will say I've pre-ordered Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai, and Jagged Alliance: Back in Action. Some games I am just too excite and I can't wait for a sale
I don't mind the preorder creep, but I like my consoles a lot, and I understand that they're trying to discourage buying used/encourage buying new. It's not my favorite thing in the world, but I like it more than the "pay $10 to play online" garbage. At least if I bought ME2 used and didn't pay for the Cerberus pack I'd be out a character and a few non-essential missions. If I buy some sports games used I can't play online (or dynasty or something... I'm not much of a sports guy), and that seems really crappy.
Yeah the unlock codes in console games are obnoxious. Basically kills even renting some titles.

Lots of great entries to the pinball contest, but in the end @Hit Bit's nomination of the Twilight Zone table slighty beat out @jclast's nomination of the Demolition Man table. Enjoy Sonic Spinball!
On a side note, we need to start a pinball thread or something.

Darkness 2 Demo is up. Not featured on the news page so you may need to navigate to the game's page to get it.

Wow, that you very much @Idx86 for Sonic Spinball!
I remember hiring it and playing with my causing at her place so many years ago. It's the only Sonic Mega Drive/Genesis game I didn't own.
Btw, I'm curious. Which was you favourite pinball machine?

Good game if like diablo-esque games.
That's a factor of 128 compared to the starting year, isn't it?

Check out the Penny Arcade World of Tanks thread to join us in some fun times.
It's a game I've sunk easily hundreds of hours into. I think it will still stand alone quite well against D3 because the skill system is so versatile.

Renting games was killed up in Canada anyway, now that Blockbuster closed down. Seriously. There is nooowhere to rent console games here
edit: Are these games good?
Too late now!
@Hit Bit - I am a huge, huge fan of the Episode 1: Phantom Menace table. Also the Jurassic Park table. Loved them both to death.
