I feel like a lot of us are hitting critical mass where "here's a gift." Oh no thanks I have too much of a backlog already.
There's time to play my backlog after my body is unfrozen when they learn how to transfer my consciousness to a machine.
This is the reason I've been entering considerably fewer PA Steamgifts giveaways lately. That, and I feel kinda guilty.
That reminds me, should I play Dawn of War: Soulstorm now, or should I wait until after I've played Dawn of War? I don't really know a huge amount about the 40k series, just some pieces of fluff from its backstory.
If soulstorm is the last expandalone, you can just skip it. The story isn't that great, and the new units don't add much. Dark Crusade was muuuuch better, and has the Necrons, which means it's awesome.

Soulstorm is the only one I have. I won Kafka's sg giveaway for it, but I didn't know if I should start it now or wait until I had played through the earlier games. I'll probably wait, although I'm kinda interested in the Sisters of Battle since they look like homicidal space nuns.

Both Soulstorm and Dark Crusade have pretty standalone stories
the first DoW and Winter Assualt give some nice backstory and have much stronger stories themselves but are hardly vital to understanding Soulstorm
I liked the campaign mode for Dark Crusade more than vanilla or Winter Assault. I think Soulstorm does something similar?
Vanilla and WA had traditional linear RTS campaigns. Dark Crusade had a Risk-style territory map that you had to conquer. Most battles were typical 1v1 RTS matches, but enemy strongholds were bigger, tougher, and somewhat scripted.

Yeah its a cool way to do it
then DoW 2 manages to do the risk type map as well as a good story

I liked in Dark Crusade that it meant you could campaign as anyone, not just Space Marines.

Even though the first two games in the DoW series are linear, they tell pretty cool stories as far as RTS games go. And the missions are pretty fun, with good maps. I picked up DoW Gold and Dark Crusade this weekend, just so I could have them on Steam with Cloud support and all that. Played a bit of the very first DoW today and really enjoyed it. DoW II is fantastic stuff, but sometimes the micro is a bit much for me. It was refreshing to just call up a shit load of Space Marines, throw them some Heavy Bolters and Flamers and just watch them bend some Orks over.
Oh. That's coming out soon? Goddamn. Why is it this time when there's stuff coming out that I want? I kinda wish the only releases on steam for the next two months would be railworks DLC, then I wouldn't even THINK about wanting them.

That's certainly where I'm at. I couldn't resist going for the Witcher 2, though. And thank god I did, that game is the balls. The rest of my backlog will have to wait 'till I'm done with that sumbitch.

So many games are about to come out! Do we have an anti-Steam thread where I could be reliably talked out of buying them all?

What is the gameplay style of Gotham City Imposters?
Objective based Team vs Team FPS, with persistent leveling, gear, upgrades. All that stuff. Made by Monolith, who has made some of the finest, most underrated FPS around.

And now I want it even more. Cause I like Monolith. Just gotta keep telling myself "Fortune summoners comes first. Fortune summoners comes first"
In the, ahh, GRIM darkness, of the fahr futcha, there is only war. That's all there is, you know, all there ever could be.

Also, there can be no mention of Christopher Walken without me linking to this wonderful video:
Speaking of pixels: It occurs to me that the indie games scene has given us the ultimate tribute to old-school top-down shooters with Jamestown, and with Titan Attacks we seem to also have the zenith of Space Invaders clones.
Now all we need is for some indie developer of, say, Final Form Games' caliber to take on the task of making a love letter to run-and-gun shooters like Metal Slug.

Yes. Yes they do.
Bonus points if we get an announcer enthusiastically yelling "RAWKIT LAWNCHAIR" whenever you pick up a rocket launcher.
Does anybody know whether this might be one of those "ultimate" editions that isn't complete, i.e. if there will be any other DLC released after it?
They've gone on record saying there will be no more DLC for fallout new vegas. And it's been quite some time since the last one, so I'm pretty sure this actually IS complete.

Cool. Fallout is one of the games that I have to get off-Steam, since they only sell the German-language version, which I loathe. I already got FO3 GOTY from eBay UK, so that's cool, can't wait to get around to try it.
Of course, I still own both FO3 and FONV on Steam, but I don't wanna play them. My name is busfahrer, and I have a problem.

If you have New vegas on steam already, then you cant GET another version. Not really. The game is steamworks.

Kinda...making me question the legitimacy of that tab there, Steam.
someone tell me I shouldnt
They may be that in the future, but I'm sure this is how the Adepta Sororitas began...
How will you play that multiplayer shooter when you are already playing SMNC
Super MNC is free
Including The Darkness II, so nice they released it twice!
