Also Boo to tintin not being allowed for best animated due to mocap.
wait wait
Wasn't Rango done in a similar way?
nah, Tintin actually had the pingpong ball suits and such
Rango filmed the actors for reference but didn't actually use their performance data for anything but cinematographic inspiration and some expressions, it wasn't like they animated directly over it or green screened or anything

And people shit all over Mocap but it's a tool just like anything else and doesn't deserve the hate it gets from non-industry people. Mocap doesn't just get fed right into a computer, it gets worked on by an animator just like anything else. So don't get too angry or anything about it.
Because I didn't like Drive, or is it something else?
the Drive thing
seriously though it's not for everyone, s'cool if it wasn't your thing
It just wasn't anything like I expected
I thought it was a regular action movie
It was cool and intense, but it failed to draw in my friends, so they just sat around complaining, which broke the spell

I hate live action. It gets fed right into a camera, you just point it at actors and it does all the work for you. Look, I can do a movie too, let me just point my phone at shit! Bullshit. Live action movies should be disqualified from winning any Oscars.

Moneyball was good. But really, it was a bit of a shit year for movies.
(That's no excuse for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close getting a nomination. Then again, the Academy proved itself worthless last year for once and all by not giving best original song to "I'm So Sad, So Very, Very Sad.")

Between Shame and Drive, I thought Carey Mulligan had a great year, so I was hoping she might have got a nod in there somewhere, but seeing as I'm still waiting for Shame to come out I can't really pass critical judgment on her performance.
I don't get why people are shitting all over this year. I saw a lot of fucking good movies. Last year and the year before that I could only think of a few, but this year I'm struggling to catch up on everything.
There is literally a dozen movies I want to see playing right now in the city next to me. I think that's a first.

So I've heard! It is high on our rental list.
This year I'm rooting for Jim Rash and not caring about anything else.

And Tintin isn't allowed in because they didn't let Avatar in.
It's a really eh~ area, where you ask if people like andy serkis should be eligible for best supporting actor.
I mean if we're going for hand made, where's Redline? (yes I said it!)
Shit took seven years
