I am really torn between which Shepard I am going to start the game with.

On one hand, my vanderloo/paragon Shepard has the allies. He is a vangod. Has one of the better relationships in the series, IMHO.

On the other hand, my femshep/renegade succeeds despite her rubbing people the wrong way. She does so with body armor and a really big assault rifle. She also has one of the better relationships in the series.

It's delicious vs decadent. How do I choose?!

Also yay, we get to see Miranda, Jacob and Samara.

Meaning the only people we haven't seen so far are...the DLC people and Thane.

    We've kind of seen Thane.

    Major spoiler:
One of the voice actor videos showed script lines from a Thane hospital bed scene and discussed its "highly emotional" content.

As far as spoilers go, that one's not too bad.

Still a stupid move not to spoil it.

I feel like that however good Klencory's analysis is, it's going to turn out that TIM is actually indoctrinated without the rest of Cerberus knowing. It just seems like something that Bioware wont have the time to deal with.

What I'd be interested in is having one of the ME2 squadmates indoctrinated, say Samara (as a Banshee) or Miranda (at least partially).

And looking at the item customization trailer, I'm really hoping that the armour options go beyond what they were in ME2. I really don't understand why some of the armours were non moddable, the Cerberus Assault Armour especially. While it looks like there's more weapons in ME3, I haven't seen a definitive list of amour.

The glimpses we've seen in the trailers seem to indicate that the armor is heavily customizeable and they've improved the color-picking UI.

I in no way want to - I'm trying to avoid them, and between Phillishere and finnith, that's starting to look like ignoring this thread.

    yeah

    which is unfortunate

    ...finith isn't spoiling anything though?

He's talking about an analysis built on ME2 and the comics/books. The guy who made it deliberately avoided ME3 spoilers when writing it. Its speculation and I thought that was still okay in the thread.

    oh

well I didn't read it properly because of the warnings from the others

    sorry @finnith

  • -Tal-Tal Registered User regular
That is Finnith's speculation, hence the "I feel like". We don't actually know what the deal with TIM is yet.

He's saying that's what he speculates will be true. Since it's just his guess, how can it be a spoiler?

No idea if it is or isn't, but its repeated from a bunch of essays that don't take into account ME3 spoilers. So its a really shitty and easy to guess spoiler from the available information if it even is one. Also, note the "I feel" which implies it is an opinion and not a fact.

Yeah, I've speculated about the origins of the reapers and why they need yoomanity for over a year. I think I'll be proven right as well, but that doesn't mean I need to spoiler my theory.

I guess some sort of ME3 strategy guide or post-mortem omnibus leaked? Cause I keep seeing images on the net, highly upsetting and cheesy elements of the ME3 story.

I guess it depends what you think the "I feel" refers to? I have zero familiarity with Klencory.

If it was an actual spoiler as opposed to speculation it would be phrased something like,

"No matter how good Klencory's analysis is, etc."

    with the addition of

"I feel, no matter how good Klencory's analysis is, etc"

Its no longer an authoritative statement, but instead speculation built upon something.

If he actually knew the answer he'd just say "The analysis is wrong because XYZ" Instead of "I think its wrong."

One of my canon ME1 Femsheps used the original default, I'll probably swap that for the new one.

Linron retains power, but control disputed
    By Pietro Pagano

TALAT, SUR’KESH – Dalatrass Linron, the queen bee of Sur’Kesh’s wealthiest bloodline, has retained bloodline leadership by a narrow margin.

In an extended speech given last night to the homeworld and colonies, the dalatrass primarily addressed her constituent clans, duchies, and corporations, lauding growth she secured for salarian businesses and taking shots at the rival Narra bloodline.

Afterward, pledges of loyalty or statements of no-confidence were factored into the weighted electoral system that the Linron bloodline uses to determine leadership.

Dalatrass Narra called Linron to congratulate her on her victory. But insiders say the Linron rivals are to be watched.

“In salarian politics, ‘I love you’ means ‘you’re going to die,’ and ‘you’re going to die’ means ‘I love you,’” one Linron staffer said.

“Linron’s influence over the Salarian Union is undeniable, but the Narra are dangerous. They don’t even recognize Talat as the planetary capital.”

The source added: “If their dalatrass gambles right, she could get the loyalty of the STG, which is key in any coup.”

In other words, it’s just another day on Sur’Kesh.

“The Token Mammal,” Pietro Pagano’s blog on salarian culture, is uploaded weekly from Sur’Kesh.
