News of the minute in Super Bowl bye week hell:
The Chiefs are refusing the pay Todd Haley the balance of his contract and that he was "terminated for cause." Though its supposedly a rare occurenc, the reason they, like the Raiders before them, will wind up winning this (get away with it if you will) is because of the contract that coaches sign when they agree to a job. Specifically, a coach forfeits his right to take the matter to court and it is settled by the league office, which of course favors their 32 clubs just a bit.
Also, Darelle Revis says Rex Ryan wasn't aware of the locker room issues. I am having a hard time understanding why Rex is playing dumb with so many of the Jets' problems and how he thinks that is a good appearance to have as a head coach of a pro football team.
Jim Irsay and Peyton Manning are having the Egg McMuffin of media brouhahas, with Manning giving an interview where he says he feels like he's walking on eggshells when he is in fact walking on millions and millions of dollars, and Irsay calling Peyton a "politician."
Greg Schiano has filled the final head coaching vacancy of the year by accepting a five year deal to live in the Tampa Bay area after living in New Jersey. If only the team was any good.
The Pro Bowl is this Sunday, but who cares about that shit.
And then there's the Super Bowl. Pitting two teams you might have heard of in a rematch:
