I think a better comparison than Rango would be Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Pretty funny when you watch it for 15 minutes at a time. Give me 90 minutes of it and it's pure garbage.
Sitting in a semi-crowded theater watching the opening to the ATHF movie was one of the best moviegoing experiences I've ever had.
The rest of the movie may not have been that good, but the sheer enjoyment of those 5 minutes or so with a totally oblivious crowd was worth the price of admission, and was good enough to fool me into a dvd purchase later.

I wasn't fooled into buying the DVD but I agree with this statement.
i'd like to think it's kinda flying in the face of stupid shit in comedy that's still quite successful
prior to watching the initial redband trailer for billion dollar movie i saw this adam sandler movie trailer about him and his twin sister and i felt as though i was being told some sort of secret my mind couldn't articulate or interpret

Rango was pretty good but it got overhyped for me so I didn't like it as much as I should have.

-richard dreyfus of jaws fame
-spider-man
-david mamet
-Heath Ledger as The Joker
-coldplay
Which is a huge releif because I'm glad that not even Dan Aykroyd would appear in a full-length Tim&Eric movie.

It's like a cook that makes money by being a shitty chef.
Tim & Eric are the Rachael Ray of comedy.
Tim & Eric's other stuff never appealed to me, though
But whatevs, people like different things
